Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Clearing A Path

That one is staying."

He memorized the Art immediately.

Not only had it killed a High B rank beast in one strike, but it had continued through everything behind it.

There wasn’t even enough left of the beast to recover its core properly.

Damon whistled.

"That’s ridiculous."

But Sylphie didn’t care.

She just wanted to use it again.

Damon could feel her excitement through their bond.

"Again?"

The bow vibrated.

"Alright, alright."

He pulled the string.

"You’re just as impressive."

The wind exploded again.

Another line was cleared.

And another.

The battlefield that had once seemed endless was slowly being carved apart.

Freya and Sylphie began taking turns.

One destroyed a section.

The other destroyed another.

Shiro followed behind them, controlling the battlefield so neither of them had to waste energy dealing with unnecessary attacks.

Damon moved between them, changing weapons whenever needed.

Spear.

Bow.

Ice.

Lightning.

Wind.

He didn’t fight like someone with three Spirit Elementals.

He fought like someone who had three different battle systems working together.

And that was what made the battlefield terrifying.

The High B rank beasts were supposed to change everything.

They were supposed to force Damon into a desperate fight.

Instead, they became targets.

Another High B rank beast charged.

Damon didn’t even look worried.

"Sylphie."

The bow appeared.

The wind gathered.

"Same one?"

The bow pulsed.

Damon smiled.

"Fine."

The attack fired.

The beast disappeared.

The scouts watching from afar finally began to lose their composure.

"Another one?"

"That was a High B rank!"

"It didn’t even slow down!"

"What kind of attack is that?"

Nobody answered.

Another beast appeared.

Freya killed it.

Another tried to approach from the side.

Shiro froze it long enough for Damon to finish it.

Another launched a long range attack.

Shiro blocked it.

Another charged through the ice.

Sylphie erased it.

The pattern repeated.

Again.

And again.

The stronger beasts had arrived.

But somehow, they weren’t changing the result.

The tide was still shrinking.

The scouts could see it clearly now.

There were fewer beasts around Damon than there had been before.

Much fewer.

And the reason wasn’t because the enemy had stopped sending them.

They were still coming.

They were simply dying faster than they could arrive.

One scout swallowed.

"It’s over."

Another looked at him.

"What?"

"We’re losing."

His voice trembled.

"They sent High B ranks at him..."

He looked at the battlefield.

Damon was still standing.

Freya was still surrounded by silver lightning.

Sylphie’s bow was still gathering wind.

And beside Damon stood a Frost Qilin that had turned the battlefield into its own domain.

The scout’s knees weakened.

"Those aren’t normal Spirit Elementals."

Nobody argued.

They had watched enough.

A normal Spirit Elemental might be strong.

A talented elemental user might have one powerful Spirit.

But Damon had three.

And each one filled a different role.

One could destroy.

One could control the battlefield and protect them.

One could attack from an overwhelming distance while switching into close combat when needed.

And Damon could use all three without losing control of the battle.

The enemy had brought numbers.

Then they brought stronger beasts.

Then High B ranks.

Yet every time they raised the pressure, Damon simply found another way to answer.

The scouts looked toward the distant formations.

Then back toward Damon.

Their faces became pale.

"If the Winterbourne party reaches the formations..."

Nobody finished the sentence.

They didn’t need to.

Their entire plan was collapsing. And Damon was still smiling.

Meanwhile, the Winterbourne party moved quickly.

They had expected trouble the moment they reached the beast tide.

Instead, they found a clear path.

Caelia looked ahead in disbelief.

"There aren’t many left."

Cornelius didn’t answer immediately.

He was looking at the battlefield.

They had been worried about getting swallowed by the tide on their way to the formation.

Now they were worried about something completely different.

Getting caught in Damon’s attacks.

A flash of silver lightning suddenly crossed the battlefield.

Boom!

An entire section of beasts disappeared.

One of the elders stopped walking.

"That was Freya?"

Cornelius nodded.

"Apparently."

"Was she always that strong?"

Cornelius gave a small smile.

"I don’t think any of us knew how strong she was."

Before they could continue, the air changed.

Wind gathered in the distance.

Caelia looked up.

A massive storm swept across the battlefield.

The wind tore through another section of beasts, leaving a long empty path behind it.

Everyone stopped again.

Caelia stared.

"That was Sylphie?"

"Yes."

She looked toward her father.

"The Wind Spirit Elemental?"

Cornelius nodded.

Caelia’s expression became complicated.

She had already known Damon was hiding something.

But seeing it was different.

Another group of beasts tried to charge through the open space.

They barely made it a few steps as Ice spread beneath them.

Their movements slowed.

Some were frozen in place. Others were forced into narrow paths as walls of ice rose around them.

Then lightning struck.

The beasts disappeared.

The Winterbourne party watched in silence.

It wasn’t really a fight anymore.

It was a massacre.

The beast tide was being dismantled piece by piece.

And the strangest part was that Damon wasn’t even fighting desperately.

He was in control.

Earlier, they had been afraid of being caught inside the tide.

Now, they were afraid of entering Damon’s line of attack.

One of the younger geniuses swallowed.

"Do we even need to help him?"

Nobody answered.

Caelia glanced at him.

"He’ll still appreciate it."

The young man looked toward the battlefield.

"I’m not sure that’s the problem."

Caelia almost laughed.

She understood what he meant.

Damon had started this battle with only Freya.

Now he had three Spirit Elementals fighting beside him, and the entire beast tide was slowly disappearing.

Even Cornelius found it difficult to believe.

He had seen talented young elemental users before.

He had seen geniuses.

But Damon was different.

The amount of strength that boy had gathered at such a young age was difficult to comprehend.

Cornelius smiled faintly..

He was glad.

Glad that he had listened to Caelia.
