I Can Evolve Spirit Elementals
Chapter 112: A New Companion
Chapter 112: Chapter 112: A New Companion
The battle continued.
Damon changed tactics constantly.
Sometimes he used Sylphie’s bow.
Sometimes he let Freya clear a section with her lightning.
Sometimes both spirits fought together.
Then Damon would switch.
Freya became the spear.
Sylphie returned to her bestial form.
They fought in another way.
This was what Damon liked most.
They didn’t have to depend on one method.
They could change.
If Freya became tired, Sylphie could take over.
If Sylphie needed to recover, Freya could hold the battlefield.
If Damon needed to rest, the spirits could protect him.
They could change their entire fighting style in seconds.
Damon wiped sweat from his forehead.
"This is going to be useful."
Freya looked at him.
Damon smiled.
"Don’t worry. I know you’re tired too."
Freya gave an annoyed cry.
"I know."
He laughed.
"We’ll rest soon."
The battle had lasted far longer than he expected.
Even Damon was beginning to feel the strain.
But that was exactly why he could see the potential.
If his strength continued growing like this...
One day, he wouldn’t have to choose between offense, defense, distance, or close combat.
He could do everything.
His gaze dropped toward his pocket.
The Frost Seed was pulsing again.
Harder.
Much harder.
Damon could feel it.
"You’ve been watching all this, haven’t you?"
Pulse.
Damon smiled.
"You want to join too."
Another pulse.
Freya looked toward his pocket.
Sylphie also noticed.
Their reactions changed immediately as they both understood.
Their new companion was close.
Damon continued fighting.
But he could feel something changing.
The Frost Seed had begun reacting to his struggle.
Not fear.
Not desperation.
Something else.
It was learning.
It was watching Freya and Sylphie fight.
It was feeling the pressure Damon was under.
And perhaps it had finally understood what it needed.
Damon wasn’t surprised.
He had expected this.
"Come on."
He tightened his grip.
"If you’re ready..."
The Frost Seed pulsed.
"...then show me."
A wave of cold suddenly spread from his pocket.
Damon’s eyes widened.
The battlefield froze.
Not completely.
But enough for everyone nearby to notice.
Freya stopped.
Sylphie stopped.
Even the beasts hesitated.
Damon’s smile slowly grew.
"Finally."
The Frost Seed burst open.
BOOM!
A huge wave of frost swept across the battlefield.
Ice spread beneath Damon’s feet.
The air became cold.
The beasts were frozen in place.
Damon didn’t care about them anymore.
His attention was on the spirit forming in front of him.
"Another one."
He laughed.
He couldn’t hide his excitement.
Freya let out a happy cry.
Sylphie sent a wave of excitement through their bond.
Even after fighting for so long, both spirits were clearly interested.
Their new companion was finally being born.
The frost gathered.
It formed a small body.
Four legs.
A long neck.
A single horn began forming on its forehead.
Damon stared.
"A Qilin?"
The frost continued gathering.
The creature grew.
Its body became larger.
Its scales were pale blue and white.
Ice crystals formed along its back like natural armor.
Its mane flowed around its neck, moving gently despite the lack of wind.
Its eyes opened.
Clear.
Calm.
Ancient.
Damon’s smile faded for a moment.
Not because he was afraid, but because he was impressed.
"A Frost Qilin."
The creature stepped forward.
The ground froze beneath its hoof.
A faint mist escaped its mouth.
Damon looked at it carefully.
Another mythic beast.
Just like Freya.
Just like Sylphie.
He had expected the Frost Seed to become something powerful.
But this...
He hadn’t expected a Qilin.
Then the sky above them changed.
A massive image appeared behind the newly born spirit.
It was another Qilin.
Much larger.
More mature.
Its body was covered in frost.
Its mane flowed like frozen clouds.
Ice crystals surrounded its horns and back.
Its presence alone made the surrounding beasts stop.
Damon looked up.
He understood immediately.
"This is your peak Bestial Form."
The phantom Qilin lowered its head.
The young Frost Qilin stood beneath it.
For a moment, the battlefield seemed to disappear.
Damon couldn’t help smiling.
"Not bad."
The Frost Qilin looked at him.
Damon walked forward.
"You took your time."
The Qilin gave a low cry.
Damon laughed.
"Yeah, yeah. I know."
Freya moved closer.
Sylphie also approached.
The three spirits looked at the new companion.
For once, Damon wasn’t thinking about the enemies around him.
He was thinking about what this new spirit could become.
And judging from the aura surrounding the Frost Qilin...
It was going to be something special.
Damon looked toward the endless tide. He wanted to return to the battle immediately.
But there was one thing he had to do first.
The contract.
He looked at the Frost Qilin standing in front of him.
The young spirit looked just as eager.
Damon smiled.
"Alright. Let’s get this done."
Freya and Sylphie immediately took their positions.
Freya returned to her nine tailed fox form and spread her afterimages across the battlefield again.
Sylphie flew into the sky.
Wind gathered around her wings as she watched the tide from above.
The battle continued without stopping.
Lightning flashed.
Wind blades cut through the beasts.
Damon could hear the roars around him, but his attention remained on the Frost Qilin.
He crouched in front of it.
"Ready?"
The Qilin nodded.
Damon placed his hand against its forehead.
The contract began.
A familiar connection formed between them.
It was much easier than the first two times.
Within a few seconds, the bond was complete.
Damon blinked.
"Oh."
He could feel the new presence clearly.
The Frost Qilin was male.
Damon couldn’t help laughing.
"So you’re my first male spirit."
The Qilin looked at him.
Damon rubbed his chin.
"Now I actually have to think of a name."
The Qilin waited patiently.
Damon stared at him.
"Don’t look at me like that."
The Qilin continued staring.
"You’re making this harder."
The Qilin tilted his head.
Damon laughed.
He had seen enough names during his old life.
Anime.
Manga.
Games.
There were too many choices.
But for some reason, one name suddenly came to mind.
Damon reached out and gently rubbed the Qilin’s head.
"I’ll call you Shiro."
