I Can Evolve Spirit Elementals
Chapter 105: One Against a Tide
Chapter 105: Chapter 105: One Against a Tide
A B rank beast charged.
Caelia raised her weapon.
Her arms were trembling.
"Come."
The beast swung. She blocked.
Bang!
Her weapon was knocked aside.
The second attack came.
Caelia tried to move, but she was too slow.
The beast struck her.
She flew backward.
Her body hit the ground and the pain spread through her.
She tried to stand, but she couldn’t move her body.
Her vision blurred.
Yet the beast approached.
Caelia forced her hand against the ground.
"Come on. Just move".
Her body refused.
The beast raised its claw.
Caelia closed her eyes.
Then she heard a voice.
"You’ve done well."
A hand caught her before she hit the ground again.
Caelia’s eyes opened.
She knew that voice.
The person holding her lowered her carefully.
"Let me take it from here."
Damon.
He had arrived.
Caelia stared at him for a moment.
Then all the strength she had been forcing herself to hold onto finally disappeared.
She relaxed.
"Damon..."
Her voice was barely audible.
He looked down at her.
"You can rest now."
Caelia smiled weakly.
She trusted him.
That was enough, as her eyes closed. And she finally allowed herself to lose consciousness.
Damon watched her for a moment.
Then he smiled.
"Good job."
He gently placed her down.
When he stood again, the smile disappeared.
He turned toward the approaching tide.
The elemental user who had being sent off the battlefield had already explained everything.
They had been tricked.
The scout had been a spy.
The B rank beasts had been bait.
The formation had redirected the beasts toward Caelia.
And the entire plan had been designed to force Damon into this exact situation.
Separate him from the mansion.
Keep him busy.
Then let the beasts continue attacking while the Winterbourne defenses became weaker.
Damon looked at the massive tide.
"So that’s the plan."
Freya crackled beside him.
Damon glanced at her.
"I know."
Silver lightning ran across the spear.
"You want to fight too."
The spear gave a sharp crack.
Damon smiled.
"Then let’s make their plan a little more difficult."
He wasn’t worried.
Not anymore.
He had already helped the Winterbourne family survive the C rank pressure before coming here.
The moment the messenger reached him, Damon had understood the problem.
He didn’t rush blindly.
He left enough support behind to keep the mansion from collapsing, as Sylphie remained there to help control the battlefield.
That gave the Winterbournes more time.
And it gave him time to reach Caelia.
He had only hoped they could survive until he arrived.
Thankfully, he had made it.
Just in time.
Damon looked at the beasts ahead.
"Now..."
He raised his spear.
"...it’s my turn."
Silver lightning exploded from the spear.
The nearest B rank beast roared and charged.
Damon stepped forward.
Boom!
The first clash shook the battlefield.
The beast’s claws struck the spear.
Damon blocked.
Freya’s silver lightning immediately wrapped around the beast’s body.
The beast screamed.
Damon twisted the spear.
"Lightning Break."
Boom!
The beast was thrown backward.
Before it could recover, Damon was already there.
He thrust the spear forward.
"Piercing Storm."
The silver spear pierced straight through its chest.
The B rank beast collapsed.
Damon pulled the free.
Another beast charged.
He turned.
"You’re going to have to do better than that."
Freya crackled in his hand.
The next beast attacked.
Damon met it head on.
Far away, the moment Damon entered the battlefield, the report reached the enemy camp.
The messenger bowed.
"Damon has entered."
The leader smiled.
For a moment, nobody spoke.
Then he leaned back.
"Good."
The plan had worked.
Caelia had been separated.
Damon had been forced to move.
And now he was fighting exactly where they wanted him.
The leader looked toward the others.
"Everything is going according to plan."
But unlike them, Damon wasn’t aware of their confidence.
He was simply fighting.
And behind him, his Spirit Elementals were ready to fight as well.
They had wanted Damon here.
They had gotten exactly what they wanted.
They just didn’t know what would happen after that.
Damon kept fighting.
And fighting.
And fighting.
At first, he had thought the tide was large.
Now he understood just how large it really was.
There was no room to breathe once he was in the middle of it.
The moment one beast fell, another was already charging into its place.
A roar came from his left.
Damon turned.
A massive Ice Bear swung its claws at him.
He raised the spear.
Clang!
The spear blocked the claws, and Damon was pushed back several steps.
The Ice Bear roared again.
Damon smiled.
"You’re persistent."
The spear in his hand crackled with silver lightning.
"Too bad."
He stepped forward.
"Lightning Break."
BOOM!
Lightning exploded from the spearhead.
The Ice Bear’s body jerked as the silver current tore through it.
Damon twisted the spear.
The lightning followed the movement and ripped through the beast’s body.
It collapsed.
Before it even hit the ground, Damon turned.
Another B rank beast was already there.
A giant Ice Wolf.
Its jaws opened.
Damon lowered his body.
The wolf snapped down.
He slid underneath it.
"Piercing Storm."
The spear shot upward.
SHK!
The spearhead pierced through its lower jaw and came out through the top of its skull.
Damon pulled the spear free and stepped away as the beast crashed behind him.
He didn’t even look back.
Another roar.
Then another.
Damon’s eyes sharpened.
"Come on."
He tightened his grip.
"I’m still warming up."
Freya crackled in his hand.
She seemed to agree.
The next beast charged and Damon met it head on.
The fight became faster.
Damon moved through the tide instead of standing in one place.
Every movement had a purpose.
He didn’t waste his Aether on attacks that didn’t need it.
A smaller B rank beast rushed from his blind spot.
Damon sensed it through his connection with Freya.
He turned without looking.
Freya’s spearhead flashed.
"Lightning Edge."
Slash!
The beast’s head flew.
Damon spun with the momentum.
The spear swept around him.
"Storm Sweep."
