Chapter 66: Chapter 63: When Rumors Come True...

"Do you really believe what he said?" the Little White Wolf asked.

"I don’t," Su Tan said.

That was a cunning monk. It was impossible for him to tell the truth, or rather, it was impossible for him to tell the whole truth. At the very least, Su Tan knew that Wuxin definitely wasn’t the Monk’s Dharma name.

The name Wuxin was known to everyone in the world. He was the strongest expert in history from the Holy Body Lineage! How could the Monk possibly be Wuxin? It was definitely a name he had made up on the spot.

"Then why didn’t you expose him?"

"It doesn’t matter... Knowing that stuff doesn’t really affect us anyway!" Su Tan shrugged.

The main reason was that Su Tan felt he couldn’t do anything about the Monk. The guy couldn’t be beaten to death! Su Tan couldn’t just keep him around forever, nor could he keep wasting time with him. There was no need for that! Besides, he had come to the Void God Realm for Martial Techniques and Alchemy Skill, not to ask for trouble. Continuing to tangle with the Monk would only distract him from his primary goals.

Su Tan had originally planned to teach the Monk a lesson, then deliberately go easy on him to let him escape. Now that he had fled on his own, it was perfect! It saved him the trouble.

"Let’s hope he learns his lesson and doesn’t come looking for trouble again!" the Little White Wolf said.

If that guy stubbornly refused to let it go, it might get a little annoying, considering the Monk had some bizarre tricks up his sleeve that induced headaches. Of course, if the Monk really didn’t know what was good for him, Su Tan wasn’t afraid. As long as he was on the first level of the Void God Realm, Su Tan could easily do whatever he pleased with the power of the forty-seventh level of Body Refinement!

"Let’s go. We should get back to our own business!" Su Tan said.

The man and the wolf got up and headed toward the area where the Alchemy Stone Forest was located.

Tangling with the Fat Monk had delayed them quite a bit, but fortunately, it hadn’t been entirely fruitless. They had gained a Weakness Token, the Demon-Suppressing Finger, the Divine Void Key, the Disguise Jade, and various Cultivation Techniques that had dropped either from the Monk or the stone pillars. It was quite a haul.

At least their efforts hadn’t been in vain. This was especially true regarding the Weakness Token. Su Tan was already practically invincible in the Void God Realm, and with the Weakness Token in his arsenal, he was now even more unstoppable.

The silhouettes of the man and the wolf gradually vanished into the Stone Forest. The rain had stopped, but the damp scent in the air hadn’t faded. The puddles on the ground and the water stains on the stone pillars remained wet.

SWISH!

Su Tan and the Little White Wolf had no idea that right after they left, a filthy bald figure with a face full of bruises appeared in the exact spot where they had just stood. His eyes were wide with anger as he glared fiercely in the direction they had vanished.

"What ’take my time’? What ’a gentleman can wait ten years for his revenge’? Hmph! A gentleman gets his revenge on the spot!" he muttered viciously.

Who else could it be but the Fat Monk? It seemed he hadn’t given up yet.

The Monk took a step forward, wanting to follow Su Tan. But then his beady eyes darted around, and he mumbled, "No, no, this won’t do. That guy is way too weird. To think there’s someone with such terrifying strength on the first level of the Void God Realm. If I rashly follow him and get caught... I’ll probably just suffer another beating!"

The Fat Monk touched his still-swollen face. Fear lingered in his heart. It hurt! He wondered if that guy was some kind of freak. Even after having his cultivation realm halved, his punches still hurt so damn much. He didn’t dare to be careless, and he couldn’t afford to let Su Tan discover him.

"Forget it, forget it... Since you have a treasure with my mark on you, I can track your exact coordinates anyway."

The Stone Forest was vast and boundless, and visibility was low. Finding a single person here wasn’t easy. However, since Su Tan possessed something of his, it would be a piece of cake.

"Just you wait! You dared to beat up this Monk... I’ll make you learn what it means to regret your past actions!" Swishing his long sleeves, the Monk turned away resentfully.

He didn’t dare challenge Su Tan to another one-on-one fight. Instead, he decided to go get reinforcements.

The Monk didn’t have any friends or brothers he knew well, let alone a master or a powerful backer. But getting reinforcements didn’t necessarily require a backer. There were plenty of cultivators in the Void God Realm, and those people would be his help.

Why could they become his help? Rumors... stoking the flames... bewitching the hearts of the masses... There were plenty of reasons to make people take action. There were also plenty of idle busybodies in the Void God Realm, all of whom could be exploited.

In less than an hour, rumors were flying everywhere on the first level of the Void God Realm!

"What? Someone in the Stone Forest has unlocked the secret to an Emperor Dao Martial Technique and is about to claim it?"

"That’s an Emperor Dao Martial Technique!"

"Yeah, a once-in-a-millennium opportunity..."

"But why hasn’t there been any activity on the announcement stele?"

"They’ve only unlocked the secret... they haven’t actually obtained it yet. That’s why the stele hasn’t reacted. However, there’s not much time left until they do. It’s estimated that the person will grasp it within a couple of hours!"

"There’s still a couple of hours?"

The crowd went into an uproar.

"Indeed, there’s still a couple of hours... Think about it, everyone. Anything can happen during this time. If they aren’t careful... it’s entirely possible for the Emperor Dao Divine Technique to change hands!"

Hearing this, the crowd’s eyes lit up.

An Emperor Dao Martial Technique was enough to drive anyone mad with greed. That was an Emperor Dao Martial Technique, after all! In the real world, especially in remote areas, even ordinary Cultivation Techniques were exceedingly precious. For an ordinary person, obtaining a Cultivation Technique was harder than ascending to the heavens—not to mention an Emperor Dao Martial Technique.

If traces of an Emperor Dao Martial Technique were ever revealed in the outside world, it would be an existence capable of triggering a massive war among top-tier factions. Anything related to the word "Emperor" was extraordinary. It was a bargaining chip that could allow a major faction to advance a step further. Possessing an Emperor Level Martial Technique meant they could endlessly produce experts and bolster their family’s strength!

Therefore, whether the Emperor Dao Martial Technique was a rumor or not, Su Tan was destined to be dragged into this mess. Whether the rumors were baseless or not, it was worth investigating.

What if! What if it were true? Wouldn’t it be a massive loss to miss out on an Emperor Level Martial Technique just because of paranoia?

The regret wouldn’t just affect one generation. When future descendants brought up their ancestors, they would complain about how an ancestor from a certain era missed out on an Emperor Level Martial Technique because they were too suspicious, otherwise, the family’s status would definitely be much higher. It concerned the destiny of their families! How could they risk such a regret?

Moreover, this news didn’t sound fake. Many cultivators were spreading it, and quite a few people had even solemnly sworn they had seen it with their own eyes.

To beat the crowd, many had already set off for the Stone Forest, heading straight for the coordinates of the Emperor Dao Martial Technique. Time was of the essence. Even if it turned out to be a wasted trip, there was no room for hesitation. In a massive, surging tide, cultivators converged on Su Tan’s location from all directions.

Rumors were truly a fearsome thing!

The Fat Monk had resorted to every conceivable trick. Aside from the Emperor Level Martial Technique, he also fabricated rumors that Su Tan had obtained the Pill Formula for a peerless Treasure Pill and a Divine Level Artifact Refining method. Basically, he was flinging as much mud as he possibly could.

Rumors were just rumors, after all, and the cultivators weren’t completely foolish. Some were purely going to watch the spectacle, while others didn’t believe it at all and simply ignored it.

However, as luck would have it, right at this very moment, Su Tan actually triggered another Great Dao phenomenon! This phenomenon came at the absolute worst time, practically cementing the rumors as undeniable facts.

"DING! Congratulations... Tanzi has touched upon an Emperor Level Martial Technique..."

On the stele, various phenomena manifested wildly. With this, even those who hadn’t believed it were given a fright.

It was actually true?

"Tanzi?"

"It’s Tanzi?"

The rumors had become reality!!! Su Tan really had touched upon an Emperor Level Martial Technique...

"DING! Congratulations Tanzi... you have touched upon the Unrivaled Level Body-Benefiting Pill Formula..."

"Holy crap... holy crap... how could this be... it makes no sense... how is this possible? It’s fake, right?" The Monk, who had been feeling quite smug about his plan—thinking he had kept everyone in the dark and unknowingly lured Su Tan into a trap—was absolutely stunned when he heard the booming announcement from the stele!

He had just been spouting nonsense... who would have thought it would actually become reality!

What in the world was going on? What kind of monster was this Su Tan? He really touched an Emperor Level Martial Technique? Since when were this Monk’s words blessed with such prophetic power?

A sour taste filled the Monk’s mouth, and his expression looked as if he had just swallowed a dead mouse.

He thought, "I was spreading rumors... not giving him my blessings!!!"
