Chapter 65: Chapter 62: Escaped!

Hearing this, Su Tan didn’t say a word.

After a moment of thought, he threw another punch right at the Monk’s face. He didn’t care what kind of weird tricks the Monk had—he was going to punch him first and ask questions later!

The Monk, who had just regained a bit of consciousness, opened his eyes only to see a heavy fist flying straight at his face. His groggy eyes instantly cleared. He stared in horror as the fist smashed toward him.

"Fuck—"

BAM!

The Monk had actually cursed. But the moment the words left his mouth, Su Tan’s punch sent him right back into unconsciousness.

"DING! Dropped: Cultivation Technique [Body Transformation Scripture] x1, Weakness Token x1... Disguise Jade x1..."

"A Weakness Token? Is that the Magical Treasure the Monk used just now?" Su Tan’s eyes lit up. A Magical Treasure that could actually be used in the Void God Realm was undoubtedly a rare find.

"DING! Dropped equipment: [Divine Void Key] x1..."

"Store it!" Su Tan commanded, sweeping all the equipment dropped by the Monk and the stone pillar into his system Warehouse!

When the Monk woke up again, he had lost count of how many times he had been knocked out. He was no longer by the stone pillar. A quick glance around revealed a terrain riddled with craters. Although the Void God Realm could self-heal, seeing such a devastated landscape made his heart ache.

He thought, "If the Void God Realm was destroyed to this extent, just how miserably was I beaten by that guy?"

Shifting his gaze, he saw Su Tan standing in front of him with a deadpan expression.

"I want to have a chat and ask you a few questions," Su Tan said coldly.

Chat? He wanted to chat after beating him so miserably? The Monk was furious! Besides, he couldn’t die in the Void God Realm anyway! He glared viciously at Su Tan and roared, "Chat my as—"

THUD!

He was knocked out again.

An unknown amount of time passed.

He woke up again!

"Are you interested in chatting now?"

"Chat your—"

THUD!

He was smashed into unconsciousness by Su Tan once more.

Su Tan was somewhat intrigued by the Monk. No matter how much he was beaten, the guy wouldn’t die, nor could he be forced offline. On top of that, he carried numerous Magical Treasures that could be used in the Void God Realm. Furthermore, why had this guy targeted him and the Little White Wolf? Was it just a coincidence?

Su Tan felt that this Monk was full of secrets.

When the Monk woke up again, Su Tan and the Little White Wolf had already found a place to sit down. The rain had stopped.

"Are you interested in chatting now?" Su Tan asked.

The Monk glared at him ferociously. "Cha—"

The Monk was stubborn, but Su Tan was even more unyielding!

THUD!

Knocked out again!

Time and time again, he was knocked out. Time and time again, the Monk woke up.

Su Tan hadn’t expected the Monk to be this tough. He planned to try a few more times; if the Monk still refused to cooperate, he would just toss him aside and go about his own business.

Slowly, the Monk opened his eyes.

"I—"

THUD!

Su Tan delivered yet another punch. As the Monk faded into unconsciousness, he stared at Su Tan with a mixture of anger and helplessness.

"Fuck... I... I was clearly... about to agree... Why... I only said one word, and you fucking... hit me..." The Monk finally couldn’t hold out any longer.

His head slumped to the side as he passed out once more!

Su Tan was speechless. "Ahem... sorry, force of habit. I thought you weren’t going to cooperate again!"

Hearing those words right before blacking out, a raging fire surged in the Monk’s heart! If he could, he really wanted to pin Su Tan to the ground and hammer him just once.

Alas, he felt nothing but despair! Even a tiger down in the plains is bullied by dogs! He lamented how he, a Monk, had ended up in such a miserable state. It was simply too tragic.

Outside the Stone Forest.

"That man and wolf must have been tortured miserably by the Monk by now!"

"From the looks of it, probably!"

"Absolutely. Once you’re targeted by that evil Monk, nobody can escape a tragic fate!"

"What a pitiful man and wolf..."

"Should we go in and take a look?"

"Look at what? I advise you not to go. If you run into that evil Monk, you’ll just end up as collateral damage..."

Some people had actually started to feel a twinge of pity and sympathized with Su Tan and the Little White Wolf. After all, the Monk’s methods were terrifying. He had once tormented someone so badly that they never dared to log into the Void God Realm again.

"They’ll just have to pray for their own luck!"

At this moment, everyone believed that Su Tan and the Little White Wolf were definitely being tortured by the evil Monk to the point where they wished for death. The outcome would undoubtedly be too gruesome to look at!

Yet, who could have expected such a plot twist? The one currently wishing for death in absolute despair was actually the Monk. If the crowd outside knew the truth, the looks on their faces would certainly be priceless.

Inside the Stone Forest!

The Monk woke up once more!

"Ahem... sorry about earlier. Force of habit, couldn’t hold my hand back!" Su Tan shrugged, offering a half-hearted apology.

"You—" Fire burned in the Monk’s chest.

However, he glanced at Su Tan’s eager fists and shrank his neck back. He forcefully swallowed the words that were stuck in his throat and about to burst out!

He had met his nemesis; there was nothing he could do. Taking a deep breath, he forced a fake, insincere smile onto his face.

"It’s... it’s fine. We monks are magnanimous and don’t mind such trifles. Besides, you didn’t do it on purpose, Almsgiver!" The Monk completely folded. His voice dropped a few notches as he spoke amiably, genuinely looking as if he had forgiven Su Tan.

If Su Tan hadn’t experienced everything just now, he might have actually believed this guy was a generous soul. However, he didn’t care either way. He knew very well that the Monk hated his guts.

But that didn’t matter. Su Tan had no intention of befriending him anyway. As long as the Monk was obedient, that was enough. If he wasn’t, Su Tan would just throw a few more punches.

This was a truly domineering method of communication.

"I wonder what it was that you wanted to discuss with this poor monk just now, Almsgiver?" the Monk asked with a smile while still lying on the ground. "We fought, and now we’re acquainted. Your skills are truly impressive, Almsgiver. To possess such overwhelming power within the Void God Realm is incredibly rare... This poor monk is truly convinced of your superiority. If you have any questions, I will certainly answer them without reservation!"

The Monk was surprisingly cooperative. He was so cooperative, in fact, that Su Tan felt he was playing tricks.

"If you dare play any tricks, you know the consequences!" Su Tan warned.

"How could I dare? Now that I have fallen into your hands, Almsgiver, how could I possibly play tricks? Rest assured, a wise man submits to circumstances. I am not that foolish!" the Fat Monk replied.

Su Tan remained silent for a long while before slowly opening his mouth. "Who are you?"

"This poor monk’s Dharma name is Wuxin!" the Fat Monk answered without any hesitation.

"Why did you target us?"

"Because this poor monk possesses an ability to see whether others have encountered fortuitous events in the Void God Realm. Frankly speaking, I was blinded by greed, which is why I harbored evil intentions toward you two. But now, this poor monk has repented. Thinking about it... I am truly ashamed. Stealing someone else’s fortune is inherently wrong..."

Whether he had actually repented or not, only heaven knew. Regardless, Su Tan didn’t believe him.

"A divination ability?" Su Tan knew of this ability because he had it too. However, his level was very low, limiting the events he could calculate.

"You could say that... but not exactly!" the Monk said. From the looks of it, he was being quite cooperative. "I didn’t know exactly what kind of fortune you two encountered, only that you definitely gained something."

"So, you just waited outside the Stone Forest, keeping an eye out to target whoever stumbled upon a fortune?"

"I am ashamed..." The Monk didn’t deny it. "But I have learned my lesson. I will never do such a thing again, nor would I dare to!"

The Monk’s promise was not reliable at all.

"Why do you have a Token that can interfere with the Void God Realm’s cultivation assessment?"

"I picked it up in a mysterious location within the Void God Realm!"

"You picked it up?" Su Tan repeated.

As expected, it was an item from the Void God Realm itself; otherwise, how could it directly interfere with the realm’s cultivation assessment? The Weakness Token directly tampered with the assessment, forcing the Void God Realm to reset a person’s realm... effectively cutting their strength in half!

It was just the Monk’s bad luck that he ran into Su Tan. Otherwise, with that item in hand, the Monk could run completely rampant in the Void God Realm. There was no telling how many people would have had their fortunes snatched away.

"Why can’t you be killed, and why is it impossible to force you to log out of the Void God Realm?" This was Su Tan’s biggest question.

"Because..." The Monk paused.

Su Tan and the Little White Wolf listened quietly.

"Because... I am your granddaddy, so you can’t kill me!!!" The Monk, who had seemed docile just moments ago, suddenly did a complete 180. He became utterly exasperated and ferociously savage!

Su Tan sneered. "You’re asking for death!"

BOOM!

He threw a punch! He smashed it right toward the Monk!

"Hmph, still want to hit this Monk? You’re dreaming!" The Monk suddenly seemed emboldened. "Space Transfer!"

BAM!

When Su Tan’s fist came crashing down, it hit nothing but empty air.

The Monk’s body had vanished! Disappeared out of thin air!

"I’ll remember you! We have plenty of time ahead of us. The humiliation of today will definitely be repaid a hundredfold in the future!" The Monk’s words echoed through the surrounding area... but the man himself was already gone!

"He escaped! Was he stalling for time just now? Letting his body recover so he could cast the Space Transfer art?" the Little White Wolf asked.

Su Tan and the Little White Wolf had been careless.

"But... that’s impossible... how is this possible..." The Little White Wolf leaped over to the spot where the Monk had disappeared. "How can such an ability be used on the first level of the Void God Realm? It should be impossible to use this kind of ability here!"

This Monk was simply too bizarre.
