I Can Enlighten Everything
Chapter 93: Great Power!
Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Great Power!
Shen Yun saw a Paladin suddenly stand up.
He walked into the group of women in the center and dragged out a girl who was at most fourteen or fifteen years old, as she continuously screamed and begged for mercy. Just looking at the lecherous expression on his face, one could tell exactly what he was about to do.
As for the other Paladins, a flicker of pity crossed the eyes of a few, but it was quickly masked by hatred and self-mockery.
So that was it.
Shen Yun finally understood. What had reduced them to this state wasn’t merely desire. It was utter self-abandonment! If an ordinary person became a pirate to survive, he would follow the ways of a pirate because that was the identity he assigned to himself.
These people...
Seeing that the girl was about to suffer a tragic fate, Shen Yun could no longer hold back.
"Stop right there," he said, stepping forward with long strides. "No matter what, you were all once Paladins."
A momentary silence fell over the scene. Everyone turned to look at Shen Yun, then exchanged glances with one another before erupting into uproarious laughter.
"Another Paladin worshipper!"
"Where did this small fry come from?"
"Young man," one of the Paladins said, staggering over and pointing to the back. "See that? The Paladin you’re looking for is over there!"
In the direction he pointed hung a suspended corpse, clad in the very same Paladin armor.
No wonder he had only counted nine of them. Whether that person was killed for not falling into depravity or murdered for refusing to join their foul deeds, Shen Yun no longer cared.
"Still, it takes some guts to actually come looking for us. Not bad at all." The Paladin in front of him drew his greatsword, his face full of ridicule. "I’ll give you a chance to show off that so-called righteous heart of yours. How about it? Who knows, maybe you’ll even be able to move us?"
"Hahaha."
"Arleif, you’re the absolute standard of justice!"
"This idiot is even dumber than we used to be!"
None of the Paladins took Shen Yun seriously. These days, there had been quite a few people who popped out of nowhere to question them out of reverence for Paladins.
But so what?
They had long since fallen into darkness and become utterly filthy. Did anyone really think that dropping their weapons and surrendering to those self-righteous crusaders would magically take them back to the past?
"I don’t really care about your so-called justice, morality, or darkness," Shen Yun sighed softly, his expression perfectly calm. "There’s only one reason I’m going to kill you—you chose to make an enemy out of me. It’s as simple as that."
Everyone’s laughter came to an abrupt halt.
Arleif, who was standing right in front of Shen Yun, instinctively sensed that something was wrong.
But in the very next instant, a pale purple lightning bolt violently pierced through his body. Terrifying electrical currents swept through him, and amidst a heart-wrenching scream, he was reduced to a charred husk without even the chance to fight back.
Shen Yun was beginning to feel the difference of being a Half-Step Void God.
It was the raw power. In the past, unless he used a highly charged Super Electromagnetic Cannon, killing a Golden Core Level expert in a single strike would have been practically impossible. This was the sheer might of fusing Spiritual Power into the Momentum of Heaven and Earth.
"Enemy attack!"
"A Great Saint!"
The remaining Paladins finally snapped to their senses. One by one, they shot up into the sky, retreating hundreds of meters away as they stared at Shen Yun in absolute terror.
Never in their wildest dreams could they have imagined this. Instead of descending from the heavens and gathering the Momentum of Heaven and Earth to launch a grand assault, a Great Saint had simply walked right up to them on the ground and launched a sneak attack.
Shen Yun and Xiaojie also flew into the sky. Above them, dark clouds began to churn and gather.
Soon after, three more Saint Realm experts flew up from below. Between the Paladins and the escaped Kingdom Saint Realm experts, there were only eleven left in total.
"To be frank," Shen Yun said, slowly raising his right hand as lightning sparked and danced across his palm. "I’d rather you were the Paladins of the past. No, even if you were just Black Mages fighting for your own desires, you would still be worthy of being called my enemies. But right now, you’re nothing but a bunch of self-abandoned dregs. It’s incredibly boring."
Even a lunatic like Ludwig knew the value of caution. But these people? Even knowing that a powerful enemy could attack at any moment, they still drank, ate meat, and huddled together for amusement without a shred of vigilance or fighting spirit.
"D-Don’t get cocky!"
It was as if Shen Yun had struck a nerve. The expressions on the Paladins’ faces turned incredibly ugly.
"You only won just now because of a sneak attack!"
"Do you honestly think we’re afraid of you?"
"We’ve been waiting for you to show up! Once we kill you, our Holy Hall will remain the strongest in the world!"
Even as they clamored, they shifted their stances. Searing Holy Light surged from each of their bodies, flowing and intertwining until it formed a massive, circular white magical Array that enveloped them all.
An Array? No, in this world, it should be called Combined Magic.
"Do you still dare to call us boring!?" one of them sneered. "Two measly Great Saints from nowhere, yet you dare to stand before twelve Saint Realm experts!"
"Isn’t it eleven?" Shen Yun asked.
He glanced at the top right corner of the massive magical Array, where there was a glaring gap. It likely belonged to the Paladin he had just killed.
After a brief, awkward silence, the group hastily shifted their positions, moving the gap to the back.
"E-Eleven Saint Realm experts is more than enough to kill you!" the same man shouted stubbornly.
"Shut up!" one of his comrades snapped immediately. "Cut the crap and attack!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, all the Saint Realm experts exerted their strength at once. They channeled their energy into the center of the rapidly activating magical Array, quickly brewing a terrifying power.
This was one of the foundational trump cards of the Holy Hall! By gathering the power of multiple Saint Realm experts, even a Great Saint would find it difficult to resist!
Shen Yun took out a Metal Pill and was just about to let Sister Xiaojiu make a move, but Xiaojie suddenly stepped in front of him.
"Such boring enemies aren’t worth you and Sister Xiaojiu taking action."
Xiaojie had taken Shen Yun’s earlier words to heart. Stepping forward on his own accord, he stretched his arms out straight and clapped them together. In an instant, his arms transformed, merging into a massive, futuristic super cannon!
Maximum output!
His body turned entirely metallic, with orange-yellow light constantly flowing along its glowing circuitry. Waves of scorching heat erupted in concentric rings, and even the Spiritual Power in the air was relentlessly sucked into the cannon.
Faint veins bulged on his large, bald head.
It wasn’t enough! He was still missing a little! He frantically calculated the enemy’s energy intensity.
Right at that moment, a hand rested on his shoulder, and an inexplicable surge of Spiritual Power flooded into him.
It clearly wasn’t a particularly immense amount of Spiritual Power. Yet, it felt as if—even his soul roared in resonance. The entire world seemed completely renewed as an endless stream of terrifying power surged into his body, only to be entirely funneled into his cannon.
It was too magnificent!
The corners of Xiaojie’s eyes grew moist, his entire body and soul trembling at this glory and greatness. This was the power of the Supreme Lord who had created them.
"To die beneath such magnificent power, you should all be grateful—!"
Almost simultaneously with his roar, an ultimate blast of cannon fire that dyed the entire sky red collided head-on with the combined energy of the eleven Saint Realm experts in mid-air.
In a mere instant, the orange-red blast annihilated the enemy’s attack. It violently pierced through the massive magical Array, shattering the cloud layer and blowing away the dark clouds to blast a colossal hole in the sky.
Sunlight shone through the gap, illuminating the ruined city below.
Gradually, people in ragged clothes emerged from the rubble and stepped into the sunlight.
Their nightmare had completely vanished into the clear sky, without even a trace of ash left behind.
