I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

Chapter 518: Leviathan Of Eclipse II

  • Next Chapter

The roar from the other side of the gate echoed through the shrine again.

Lian and Kain both moved toward the shrine’s gate, and fortunately, there was no need to activate any special mechanism, the gate simply started opening after sensing their presence.

A thin line of light formed between the two sides of the gate and slowly became wider, but instead of moving, the young Vorhelm immediately opened his Status Panel.

The Stats points he had saved from the final hunt of the Wolfgrave were still untouched.

4,703 points.

He had not even looked at them at the time, and even now, his stats were already so high for his Level that they seemed unreal.

But his instincts told him that whatever was waiting for them outside was not something he could take lightly.

Now was not the time to save them.

[Stats points: 4,703.]

Lian divided them without hesitation.

[Strength: 3,000 → 4,200.]

[Spirit: 1,900 → 2,900.]

[Speed: 2,400 → 3,400.]

[Mana: 2,353 → 3,156.]

[Resistance: 2,000 → 2,700.]

[Total Stats: 16,356.]

The change was not gentle.

The muscles under his skin tightened for a moment, his bones endured heavy pressure, and the amount of Mana moving through his paths suddenly increased.

The gate opened.

The smell of blood and burned stone reached them before the view did.

When he stepped out of the shrine, the first thing he saw was not the city, but that creature.

The Leviathan Of Eclipse was now almost completely out of the black area.

The lower part of its huge body was still among the remains of the broken docks, but three of its hook-like limbs had sunk into the streets near the shore, and every time it shifted its weight, the centuries-old stone pavement under its claws broke like pottery.

The distance between them and the creature was about four hundred meters, but even from the top of the huge shrine’s stairs, it looked enormous.

[Leviathan Of Eclipse.]

[Rank: Fallen.]

[Level: 50.]

Fallen.

Level 50.

If we do not count the Unborn Saint, it could be said that this was the strongest monster either of them had ever directly faced in their lives.

And the creature moving through the lower part of the city looked nothing like the ordinary Fallen they had seen until now.

Centuries of feeding on the remaining energy of the Eclipse Demon and the Light power that still leaked from the city had turned its body into something between two opposite sources.

And more importantly, it was Level 50, its stats were at least above 25,000.

Twelve white holes on the head of the Leviathan lit up one after another.

And at that exact moment, Predator’s Instincts screamed inside Lian’s mind.

"Down!"

He and Kain moved almost at the same time.

In the lower part of the city, the Leviathan opened its vertical mouth, the opening spread from under its jaw to the center of its chest, and white light gathered inside its throat.

But it was not pure white, black lines moved inside the light.

"Defensive array! Right now!" a priest from the Third Region shouted.

The four remaining priests in the main street raised their hands.

The first golden shield formed, then a second behind it, and then a third.

The forces of the Sixth Region also moved back behind the same line without caring about their enemy from a few minutes ago, and they even added their own power to be safe, adding several layers formed from dark power.

The Leviathan lowered its head.

[Maw of Blighted Radiance.]

The light was released, but it was not a beam, it was a flood, and the white street disappeared for a moment.

The first shield did not even last a second.

CRACK!

The second layer bent, the third resisted for a moment, and then black lines spread across its surface.

From a distance, Lian saw that the shield was not actually breaking, but its structure was being shut down, exactly like the power of that Eclipse Demon in the memories.

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The Blighted Radiance passed through the defenses, and the buildings on both sides of the street disappeared inside the white-black light.

The wave of heat and pressure even reached the shrine’s stairs and threw Kain’s robe backward.

When the light disappeared, that street no longer existed.

A black trench several dozen meters wide had been created through the city.

Those who had been directly in the path of the attack did not even leave a corpse behind.

Several people near the edge of the impact area were lying on the ground, their bodies burned and covered with black lines.

Kain stayed silent for several seconds.

"How the fucking hell is that a Fallen? It looks more like an Unholy!"

Lian said nothing, he had faced an even stronger monster before, so he was not easily surprised, but he was thinking about how they should deal with this thing.

At the same time, the Leviathan had raised its head, and the twelve white holes turned directly toward the shrine.

Or more exactly... toward him, as if the creature had sensed something inside him, something it wanted for itself.

Lian did not need to guess, this monster definitely wanted the remaining power of the Eclipse Demon for itself.

He did not hesitate and activated his armor.

[World-Devourer Bastion.]

"The fact that you put on your armor right from the start gives me the feeling that even you don’t know how we should deal with this monster." Kain gave a bitter smile.

"You’ve got the wrong idea, I put it on because I want to defeat it faster." The young Vorhelm said simply.

"...."

"I don’t know if I should say you’re confident or just arrogant... Lian, how are you going to defeat that thing?" The Child Of Light pointed toward the huge monster.

And at the same moment, one of the Leviathan’s six limbs rose from the street.

The creature was still hundreds of meters away, but that single limb was already long enough to cover a large part of the stairs.

The hook-like claw rose and then came down with its full weight.

The forces near the shrine scattered.

Lian did not move either.

[Mountain Anchor.]

The armor locked itself to the stone under his feet, and Mana moved from the soles of his feet into the stairs, spreading thin cracks in several directions.

[World-Bearing Frame.]

The structure of the Bastion became stronger.

And inside the armor, he also activated his own skill.

[Molten Bastion Body.]

A wave of heat passed through his bones, the natural defense of his body became harder, and a compressed bone structure formed.

And on the outer layer, molten heat flowed under the armor plates.

The Leviathan’s claw came down.

KAAAAAAAAAAAAABOOOOOOOOM!

The stairs under Lian exploded and pieces of stone flew dozens of meters into the air.

Kain protected himself from the shockwave behind his defensive skill, Prismatic Aegis, but even he was pushed several meters backward.

One of the Sixth Region soldiers who had not moved far enough was thrown against the wall like a piece of cloth.

For several seconds, only dust could be seen, and then a shadow moved inside it.

Lian was still standing, both of his feet had sunk almost half a meter into the stone pavement, and his knees were bent.

The armor plate on his left shoulder was cracked, and one of the silver lines had gone dark.

But both of his hands were under the huge claw of the Leviathan.

He was holding it.

Not lifting the full weight of the creature.

The Mountain Anchor was spreading most of the force into the ground, but the fact that his body had not been crushed under that attack was enough to make the people around them look at him differently.

"I guess I got my answer." Kain let out a sigh of relief.

"If you have time to talk, attack." Lian answered from under the pressure.

"With pleasure."

Light was compressed between Kain’s hands.

[Dawn Spear.]

A thin and concentrated spear came out of his palm, instead of exploding on the skin, it pierced into the joint of the Leviathan’s claw.

The creature pulled its limb back, and at that exact moment, the World-Devourer Bastion shook.

[Giant’s Momentum.]

Part of the force that the armor had endured had been stored inside its structure.

Lian released the Mountain Anchor and moved his entire body together with the armor toward the monster’s limb.

[Iron Fortress Charge.]

BOOOOOOM!

The huge joint of the Leviathan was pushed aside, and instead of returning onto the stairs, its limb crashed into the building on the left.

The three-story building collapsed instantly.

The monster roared in anger, it was clearly surprised.

It had seen these humans as nothing more than ants, ants that it could crush whenever it wanted... but it had realized that it was wrong.

Now it was truly paying attention to them and had understood, they were not ants it could ignore.
