Chapter 511: Another Region Is Here ( Bonus Chapter )

The air was forced out of the priest’s lungs, his body was dragged several meters across the ground and his eyes rolled back.

The power of the attack was enough to knock him unconscious.

At the same time as he lost consciousness, the first sun completely turned off.

The pressure in the square suddenly decreased.

The second and third priests tried to keep the array active at the same time, but the three-part structure now had only two points, and that was enough to make everything fall apart.

Mana flow returned through one of the paths.

Crack!

One of the mirror plates cracked, the second sun shook, then the third, and finally ....both of them exploded.

BOOOOOOM!

A wave of mana covered the entire square and the soldiers of Region Three were pushed backward.

"Move." Lian looked at his friend and said, Kain did not ask any questions and both of them went directly toward the shrine.

One also moved behind them.

The forces of Region Three were still large in number, but breaking the array had caused their formation to become disorganized for a few moments.

"Stop them!" A commander shouted from far away.

Ten soldiers took positions in the main street, Kain gathered light between his hands.

Lian moved forward.

This time, he had no intention of stopping.

The first spear came toward him but he easily grabbed the body of the weapon and pulled, causing its owner to move forward together with the spear.

He gave him a short punch to the chest and boom!

The man’s body hit the two soldiers behind him.

Kain passed through the opening that had been created and two walls of light formed on both sides of him, arrows made of light hit them.

The path opened.

One entered the line from behind with its huge body.

The soldiers standing in front of the creature either moved aside...or were pushed aside.

But Region Three was not completely backing down.

Those three priests were not the only priests present, other priests had gathered near the main stairs of the shrine.

Some of them were not even looking at Lian and Kain and seemed to be doing something else, whatever it was, it was important enough for them to completely ignore all the chaos that was happening.

This caught Lian’s attention and he looked more carefully to understand what they were doing, and that look was enough.

"They are trying to open the shrine’s door."

"Right in the middle of all this fighting? How can they focus on opening that door in all this chaos?"

"It’s simple, whatever is inside is more important to them than us."

That itself was important information.

When they got close to the upper part of the city, the real structure of the gate became clear to them.

What had looked like only one huge white door from far away actually had two layers.

The first layer had twelve large mirror sections around the entrance, each one connected to one of the city’s towers, although not through cables or physical wires as it would logically have to be.

Instead, they were connected by paths of light that moved from one building to another.

The World Memory panel recovered new information after matching it with the map.

[Seal of Twelve Reflections.]

There were twelve huge grooves around the gate.

Eleven of them were already lit, and the twelfth one lit up at the exact moment one of the priests adjusted the last metal frame on the distant tower.

Kaaang!

The entire gate shook, the outer section slowly moved back into the mountain wall, first a few meters and then even farther, white light came out from the gap behind it.

"So this is what they were working on." Kain stopped for a moment.

Lian nodded, this was what the natives had been trying to buy time for all this time and with one look, he understood why they still needed at least three more days.

They had managed to completely open the first gate, but behind the first gate, there was another door.

It was completely smooth and completely white, without a handle and without any gap, and a large symbol was carved into its center.

It was an eye and below it was a drop, as if a tear had fallen from the eye.

The priests of Region Three gave short cries of joy when they saw the first layer opening.

But no one moved forward, because the main part was still closed.

Lian moved his eyes toward the priests who were preparing in front of the second seal.

They had several large tools with Light Crystals and mirror plates, they were clearly trying to replace something....something they did not have.

He thought for a moment, his eyes moved toward Kain, and then everything slowly started to make sense in his mind, like a puzzle whose pieces had finally been put together.

Nine months ago, two natives from Region Three had gone to those ruins to retrieve the Tear of Divine Of Light, the same ruins that Kain had entered by chance.

That tear was a key, a key that could activate this city and all of its mechanisms.

The natives of Region Three needed it to awaken this city and open the sanctuary, but Kain had accidentally obtained that tear.

The natives of Region Three had probably been searching for the tear during this time, but they had not been able to find it, and for some reason, they could not delay opening the sanctuary.

So they had decided to find another way to open the sanctuary, a way that was probably harder, more expensive and more dangerous, with a very low chance of success.

Even so, they had no other choice, there was something inside that sanctuary that they had to obtain, and it seemed they were in a hurry to get it.

And that itself raised some questions, what was inside that sanctuary? And why was Region Three so desperate to obtain it?

"Continue the preparations! There isn’t much time left until the Shadowless Hour!" one of the priests said.

Lian heard this sentence, so his previous guess had been correct, there was a specific time for opening the sanctuary, the Shadowless Hour.

They had probably found a way to open the sanctuary, or at least trick its mechanism for a while.

But the main key was standing only a few dozen meters away from them right now.

And wasn’t this very good for them? If Kain was the key, they could enter the sanctuary without any problems.

Lian wanted to move toward the seal when....BOOOOOM!

A huge explosion came from the western part of the city, and everyone stopped for a moment.

One of the temporary guard towers of Region Three broke in half, and pieces of wood and stone fell down.

Kain quickly turned around, and the young Vorhelm also looked in that direction, it seemed that some other people had also become involved in this matter.

People were coming out from the western street, and surprisingly, they were humans too!

But they were not Earth humans, their equipment did not look like anything from Earth, and their auras were extremely strange, they were different from both the Earth humans and the natives of Region Three.

Their armor was also different from Region Three, it was darker, with parts that were blue and gray.

The symbol on their flag also looked nothing like the sun symbol of Region Three.

"Region Six?!" one of the commanders of Region Three said, and his face changed when he saw them.

"What? Another Region? Damn it!" Kain turned his head toward Lian.
