I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

Chapter 490: The Wolf Of Eight Disasters III

  • Next Chapter

The first pillar turned into ash.

The second pillar broke from the middle.

The ice Lian had created turned into powder before the wave could hit it directly.

The wave arrived.

BOOOOOOM!

Mountain Frame spread the force through the entire armor and Mountain Anchor forced it into the ground.

But it was not enough.

His body was dragged several dozen meters backward along with a piece of the floor, his armor made loud sounds and his ears could not hear anything for a moment.

A warm line ran down from the side of his neck.

Blood.

When the howl ended, the hall no longer looked like it had a few seconds ago, half of the pillars were damaged and cracks had spread across the ceiling stones.

Lian slowly straightened his head, there was a strong ringing sound inside his ears but he was still standing.

Although lines of blood were flowing from his eyes and ears, and the condition of both his vision and hearing was not good.

The wolf stared at him, as if it was still surprised by how this human had managed to survive.

It had used four of its eyes, but even then it still had not defeated its prey, this was rare.

Most of the creatures it had faced could not even endure three of its eyes and now one had managed to continue until the fifth.

Its fifth eye opened.

[The Fifth Disaster — Bodiless Pack.]

The wolf’s shadow moved, then the shadows of the pillars, and then the shadows of the corpses.

Lian frowned slightly.

The first shape rose from the ground, a black wolf, without flesh, without skin, and with a body made from dark mana and something that looked like the remains of a will.

The second.

The fifth.

The tenth.

Very soon, dozens of black creatures appeared throughout the hall.

One of them was a wolf whose head he had cut off a few hours ago, the wound on its neck could still be seen even on its black body.

The young Vorhelm looked at it for a moment, he did not even know how he should react.

The pack attacked.

False Presence.

A presence of him appeared in a different direction and caused part of the pack to immediately change direction.

Lian also immediately placed his hand on the ground to use the chance that had appeared.

[Frost Dominion]

This time, instead of targeting the open area, he targeted the corridor.

Thin ice walls rose from the ground and divided the black pack into smaller groups.

[Cataclysm Pulse]

BOOOOOOM!

Six black creatures broke apart at the same time, but their bodies turned into smoke and a few seconds later they took shape again.

"So killing you is useless."

The teeth of one of the mana wolves passed beside his arm.

Lian moved backward and at that exact moment, Predator’s Instincts gave him a warning.

The main wolf came out from behind the pack and its huge claw landed directly on his chest.

KABOOOOOM!

Three plates on the front of his armor cracked and his body was thrown dozens of meters away, he passed through an ice wall and crashed into a stone pillar.

His breath stopped for a moment and he landed on one knee, a sharp pain was in his chest.

He even felt like his breath was trapped inside his chest and he could not breathe properly, and the passages were blocked.

"Cough! Cough!"

He took out a small bottle from his storage space, broke the cap with his finger and drank it in one breath.

Warmth spread through his body and his injuries were partly healed.

Lian stood up but this time he was no longer only looking at the monster, he was looking at the chains.

Every time one of the eyes had opened, the flow of one of the main chains had changed and with one look, he realized that there were also eight chains.

Eight eyes.

Eight disasters.

Eight chains.

Eight paths.

Lian’s eyes narrowed.

"So the name Eight Paths Sanctuary was not only because of its architecture."

The followers of the Divine Of Chaos had not restrained this creature with only one prison.

They had sealed each disaster separately, each eye was one path and each path was one chain and every time the monster opened one of the paths to use a specific disaster, it created a gate inside its prison for a moment.

But he became a little curious, who had been able to imprison this monster at its peak? And was this monster related to the Divine Of Chaos? Because all the signs were showing something like that.

This information might be useful later but there were still three eyes left that he had to deal with.

The sixth eye opened.

[The Sixth Disaster — Reversed Maw.]

The wolf opened its mouth.

Lian prepared for a howl or a wave of mana but nothing came out and instead ....space bent.

He took one step backward but his body was pulled two meters toward the wolf.

"Damn it." He frowned and immediately activated Thunder Step, his target was to escape toward the left.

BOOM!

But his body appeared on the right side!

"Hmm?"

The wolf moved and the young Vorhelm immediately jumped backward, although to his surprise, the distance suddenly became smaller.

After guessing something, he moved forward and to his surprise, the distance became larger.

"So that’s how it is, huh?" For a few seconds, all the rules of distance had been reversed.

But before he could decide his next target, two huge shadows appeared above and below the hall.

A maw.

It did not belong to the monster, but it was as if space itself had taken the shape of jaws, the upper edge came down and the lower one rose up.

Lian activated True Sequence to its highest level.

Thousands of broken paths, reversed directions, but one small point on the right side of the hall remained stable, the flow of space was not twisted there.

He moved without thinking.

[Ash Step]

His body turned into a gray mass and at the same time the jaws closed.

KABOOOOOOOOOM!

Half of the hall was crushed, the pillars broke and the stones shattered.

He took shape again just outside the range and for a moment looked at the huge hole where he had been standing a few seconds ago.

If he had realized it any later, even with World-Devourer Bastion, he probably would not have come out of that alive.

And the monster roared, as if its anger had reached its highest point because this human was still alive.

The seventh eye opened.

[The Seventh Disaster — Inverted Day.]

Lian did not feel anything at first, but suddenly his entire body left the ground.

It was not a jump or floating, more accurately, he was falling toward the ceiling!

Rocks, bones, remains of pillars, corpses and even the Wolf Of Eight Disasters all fell upward.

He turned his body in the air and the wolf’s claws reached the wall, unlike him, the creature immediately adapted itself to the new situation.

It started running on the ceiling and was coming toward him and suddenly it struck its claw toward its target.

[Thunder Step]

Lian escaped the first claw and the second came from the side, he turned his body and the claw passed a few centimeters from his face.

Then gravity changed again....everything fell downward!

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

The ground shook under the weight of thousands of tons of stone and bones, cracks spread across the ceiling and the wolf reversed gravity again.

The ceiling, which was already damaged, could not hold and part of it collapsed.

The sixth chain was pulled and the seventh chain was also put under pressure.

CRACK!

One of the links broke.

For the first time, the wolf was able to move its body several meters beyond its previous range.

Then it jumped straight upward and its fifteen-meter body passed through the ceiling of the underground area.

KAAAAAAAAABOOOOOOOOOM!

The floor of the upper hall exploded and the huge pillars collapsed as the monster came up through the fortress.

Lian also followed it through the opening with Thunder Step and the battle left the underground area.

Cold air and mist hit the young Vorhelm’s face again but the scene in front of him was almost impossible to recognize.

A large part of the central fortress had collapsed, the main tower was cracked and the walls were broken.

The Wolf Of Eight Disasters stood on the remains of one of the towers and its seven opened eyes were shining through the mist like seven ominous lights.

All the wolves around the fortress had moved back, some had fallen on their stomachs and some were running away.

None of them approached the master who had commanded them through the network for years.

Now Lian could see the network more clearly.

The wells, corpse storage areas and black veins under the ground, different generations of wolves had collected corpses over the years.

To free this monster.

The biological materials from the corpses entered the network and the Wolf Of Eight Disasters used them to somehow try to destroy the chains.

He had no idea how this monster was doing it, he did not even know what those chains were, but whatever it was, it seemed to be succeeding.

The chains had successfully been weakened and now this creature’s movement range covered almost the entire central fortress.

But the crown was still active and black strands from the huge structure above the remaining tower were still connected to the wolf’s body.

The final restraint.

This creature could destroy the fortress, but it still could not leave The Wolfgrave Fortresses.

At least for now, until the crown stopped working, this monster could not completely break free and Lian’s presence was causing everything to go wrong.

And the Wolf Of Eight Disasters did not like this, it would not allow anyone to ruin its freedom. ℴ

Its last eye finally opened....
