Chapter 517: Chapter 314: News

The sun was setting, casting its golden glow upon everyone.

Celestial Sword Gorge glittered brilliantly, its ground littered with the blade legs left behind by the dead Spider Demons.

Battlefields after a fight with demons were the easiest to clean up; they were covered in spoils of war, with not a single corpse in sight.

The great battle was over. Sensing faint auras approaching from the distance, Yu Fei was the first to land on the ground.

The many Grandmasters and Great Grandmasters followed suit. They had no choice. With the strongest fighter and top performer of the battle on the ground, they couldn’t very well remain hovering in the sky.

Yu Wen Baji hesitated for a long moment before finally landing behind Yu Fei. Things had come to this; he had to accept reality.

Despite the conflict between Yu Fei and Yu Wen Baji and the withdrawal of the Brotherhood’s members, the Celestial Tiger Corps, which was responsible for this area, remained. They would tend to the wounded and clean the battlefield as usual.

When He Man arrived with her team, she was greeted by a calm and peaceful scene. The fighting had long since stopped.

She was puzzled. ’Judging by the Spider Demon Blade Legs scattered everywhere, the demonic force occupying Celestial Sword Gorge was formidable. How could Yu Wen Baji possibly have handled it all?’

Her gaze fell upon a young-looking Martial Artist dressed in crimson and gold who was walking toward them. He had an imperious air, and despite only being in the Gang Qi Realm, he had Yu Wen Baji, Wei Mo, and the others following deferentially behind him, none of them showing the slightest hint of resentment!

’Who is that?’

She wasn’t the only one who was confused; the leaders of the Chenwu and Changqing Corps were also baffled. Still, what mattered was that the demons had been annihilated.

He Man and the others stepped forward. They needed to find out what had happened.

Yu Fei observed the size of the reinforcement troops. There were seven Great Grandmasters and eight hundred Grandmasters, but he saw no Gang Qi Martial Artists.

At a critical moment, these forces could have charged into battle and completely annihilated the demonic side.

Before the two groups made formal contact, Yu Fei detected several hidden mental networks being established. He understood immediately. ’It must be the remaining members of the Brotherhood, helping Yu Wen Baji relay information.’

Yu Fei didn’t really care. If it weren’t for the Void Clearing Mirror, he might not have even noticed the secret communication.

Not only that, but Yu Wen Baji also included Yu Fei in a private mental network to introduce him to the identities and positions of the newcomers.

The guy seemed to have been completely cowed by Yu Fei. He looked much more subdued, especially after getting rid of his long, flowing hair.

The Chenwu Corps and the Changqing Corps were both veteran B-rank corps. They were supposed to defend the Celestial Sword Gorge area alongside the Celestial Tiger Corps, but the strategic situation might change after the earthquake, so for now, they were all stationed here together.

He Man and the others learned of Yu Fei’s terrifying battle record from the side, though they were, of course, unaware of his conflict with Yu Wen Baji or the fact that many members of the Brotherhood had withdrawn.

"Student Yu Fei, you truly are a legendary figure! It is a great honor to finally meet you today!"

He Man and her companions had been reserved at first, but upon suddenly learning of Yu Fei’s incredible combat achievements, their entire demeanor changed, and they became exceptionally polite.

It was no wonder they reacted this way. He had killed a double-digit number of 8th-rank demons while only at the Gang Qi cultivation level, and he cut down 7th-rank demons as if they were nothing.

Add to that the elusive spatial abilities they described, and who would dare provoke such a person?

’Does a student this badass have the backing of his school? We certainly don’t dare to offend him.’

"Grandmaster He, you’re too kind. And thank you for coming to provide support!"

Yu Fei played the part of the host without any reservation, and no one had any objections.

Thus, the meeting concluded on a pleasant and harmonious note.

After a bit of small talk, Yu Fei showed little interest in rebuilding the camp or subsequent missions. He only made one request regarding the settlement of merit points: that his own points be transferred to the five classes of Fenghua and Jiang Nianwei.

Yu Fei was more interested in the manhunt being conducted by the Celestial Phenomenon Corps.

"I hear your corps has been hunting some outlaws recently? Do you need any help?"

He Man didn’t understand his intention and assumed he was just being polite, so she tactfully declined. She thought he wouldn’t be interested in such minor matters.

"It’s just two stupid thieves. Nothing to worry about."

Yu Fei said impassively, "I’m just curious. How could someone cause trouble at a corps garrison?"

Seeing that Yu Fei was interested, He Man briefly explained what had happened.

The Celestial Phenomenon Corps was established forty years ago. The corps has no shortage of new, sharp Martial Artists, but it also has many veterans.

A few days ago, someone actually managed to attack and kidnap a semi-retired, elderly Grandmaster Martial Artist and interrogate him under torture.

An incident of this nature is extremely serious. Due to a lapse in security, it was discovered a bit late, mainly because no one expected anyone to be so audacious.

It’s unknown what the two perpetrators did, but the attacked Grandmaster has yet to wake up.

"They must be two cult members. No one else would be so rampant!"

Yu Fei grew thoughtful. ’These two so-called "stupid thieves," who’ve been identified as cult members, are most likely Teacher Yan Sea and Su Yue.’

He feigned a strong interest in the matter and tried to find out more by questioning He Man indirectly.

"Was there anything special about the Grandmaster who was attacked? I imagine the camp is heavily guarded, yet their target was so specific? Could there be a mole?"

He Man looked a little embarrassed. After all, it was a rather unflattering story. Someone had snuck into their own main camp, which made them look somewhat incompetent.

"We’ve investigated for a long time, and there’s no possibility of a mole. We don’t know how those two obtained our defensive layout. Furthermore, their ability to conceal themselves and infiltrate suggests their strength cannot be underestimated. I’m more inclined to suspect they might be..."

He Man hesitated, not quite daring to say it out loud.

"Are you suggesting they’re prodigy graduates from previous years?"
