Chapter 502: Chapter 307: Slaying a Tier 8 in the Narrows, Breaking the Enemy Swiftly
Violent gales raged on Matie Road, and the path forward grew increasingly narrow.
Yu Fei stayed at the very forefront of the group, always ready for the next wave of Elemental Demons.
The four royal Elemental Demons that had escaped would surely report back. The exit of Matie Road led directly to the rear of the main camp at Celestial Sword Gorge. If Yu Fei’s team broke through, the enemy would be caught in a pincer attack. Therefore, they were bound to send troops to defend the pass.
’If the enemy sends another wave, they’ll probably dispatch an 8th-rank Elemental Demon!’
Yu Fei surmised this was inevitable. On this narrow battlefield, 7th-rank Elemental Demons were no match for him. Sending any more would just be feeding him kills.
Therefore, the enemy would have to send an 8th-rank Elemental Demon to stop him. This meant the pressure on the main front would lessen considerably, and they would be indirectly reducing the burden on Yu Wen Baji.
In war, one could not intentionally endanger Warriors from their own camp over personal feelings. Less pressure on the main front meant more Martial Artists would survive. Most of those Martial Artists were alumni from the Seven Greats, as well as top graduates from the various other Martial Universities.
The Martial Artists from the Seven Great Celestial Pride Classes alone were not enough to handle the vast battlefields of the border region.
"They’re here!"
Yu Fei immediately sent a warning through the mental network, telling everyone to hold their positions.
By stacking multiple perception-type Secret Techniques, Yu Fei could sense with precision up to fifty kilometers and vaguely up to a hundred. If it weren’t for the restrictive terrain of Matie Road, his sensory range would be even greater.
Even if a Celestial Pride Martial Artist wasn’t particularly powerful, as long as they cultivated a perception Secret Technique and had access to the mental network, their contribution to the battlefield would be significant.
Feng Hua’s voice rang out. "Yu Fei, let me go with you! I can at least hold off some of the 7th-rank Elemental Demons!"
Yu Fei refused. The energy signature of an 8th-rank being was immense, far surpassing his own. To kill it, he would have to rely on his Great Sun Glaze Body and his various unique talents, especially his spatial abilities.
However, that would only guarantee his own safety. No matter how fast Feng Hua was, she couldn’t outpace an 8th-rank Elemental Demon.
Yu Fei looked back at his eager teammates, seeing the complex mix of worry and anticipation on their faces.
He smiled and said over the mental network, "All of you can just watch. Wait a moment, I’m going to slay that 8th-rank Elemental Demon!"
He raised his hand, and a blast of Sword Qi tore through the gale. With a peal of Thunder Sound, Yu Fei vanished from his spot.
The group stared ahead. Aided by the mental network, they too detected the approaching 8th-rank Elemental Demon and could faintly perceive Yu Fei’s aura.
They already possessed sensory abilities, and now, thanks to the Void Clearing Mirror, Yu Fei was transmitting his own point of view back to them. It was effectively a live stream, something only the Void Clearing Mirror could achieve.

Yu Fei deliberately held back his speed while infusing a massive amount of Sword Qi into Name-Slayer. When he fought an 8th-rank mechanical being in the ruins of the Celestial Palace, he had discovered that an enemy of that rank possessed more than enough power to kill him.
In both close-quarters and long-range combat, the enemy’s speed and power were superior to his—vastly so.
Yu Fei’s trump card, however, was his spatial abilities.
Both his enhanced Boundless Sword Qi and his sword, Name-Slayer, could injure the enemy. As long as he could break through its defenses, he could secure the kill.
Thus, he had concluded that the single greatest difficulty in fighting an 8th-rank being was closing the distance quickly.
An 8th-rank being’s defenses were exceptional, and its energy reserves were vast. If he didn’t fight it up close, his Boundless Sword Qi would be completely blocked, rendering him unable to inflict any damage.
Ultimately, Boundless Sword Qi was just a form of energy projection, which was, in fact, the easiest type of attack to defend against.
Drawing from his valuable experience in the ruins of the Celestial Palace, Yu Fei had devised a strategy.
He had to use long-range teleportation to get close, then empower his attack with Boundless Sword Qi to shatter the enemy’s defenses. After that, he would rapidly move in and flood the area with a massive amount of Sword Qi to seize control of the ambient energy and form a Teleportation Field. From that point on, he would maintain a fluid, hundred-meter distance from the enemy, using Name-Slayer’s space-piercing properties to wear it down and slay it piece by piece.
The 8th-rank Elemental Demon looked no different from a 7th-rank one, except its armor was far more sophisticated.
The 8th-rank Elemental Demon before him wielded a massive, straight-bladed sword. The blade itself was three meters long, roughly matching the demon’s height. An orange gemstone was embedded in its head, a level higher than that of a 7th-rank Elemental Demon.
These Elemental Demons were all very similar in appearance, bearing the same models of weapons and armor. Their faces, while distinct, were all exquisitely beautiful. In his perception, this particular Elemental Demon contained a terrifyingly powerful energy signature within its body.
From a great distance, Yu Fei launched several streams of Sword Qi at the Elemental Demon. Once they traveled beyond a certain range, he could no longer control them; they could only continue flying straight on their own momentum. By the time they reached the demon, their power was spent, and they were on the verge of dissipating.
The sword-wielding Elemental Demon completely ignored such feeble Sword Qi. It simply continued to silently build its energy signature, planning to annihilate Yu Fei in a single strike.
