Chapter 501: Chapter 306: Sword Qi Falls Like Stars, Swiftly Breaking Ten Thousand Demons
She suddenly stepped forward and gave Yu Fei a light hug.
"I was bullied! Help me!"
Yu Fei gently patted Feng Hua’s shoulder. "Leave it to me!"
This wasn’t a plea, but a call for help between friends.
The gales of Matie Road howled as the shouts from behind grew clearer. Feng Hua took a small step back. This was a moment of glory that belonged to Yu Fei alone. In the Martial Arts Extraordinary World, only power could unite the people; to admire the strong is a natural instinct.
They had followed him all this way, only to find that the insurmountable barriers blocking their path had been completely eliminated.
As they drew near, the crowd, by unspoken agreement, let the members of the Yulin Army rush to the front. After all, Yu Fei was their squad leader, the Lord of the Yulin Army.
"Boss, you’re fucking awesome!"
Xiang Kun ran at the very front, his eyes filled with excitement.
"Boss, we missed you!"
"Boss, where’d you run off to? We haven’t seen you in so long!"
...
Everyone chattered at once, chaotically crowding around him. In the distance were the other classes.
Jiang Nianwei stood far in the back, watching Yu Fei with a look of pure joy. Only now did she resemble a twenty-year-old woman rather than an iron-blooded Warrior.
The expert, Li Jueyin, and his group stood behind Jiang Nianwei. Zhang Xunyi, however, was off to one side, standing with his hands clasped behind his back, his head tilted away. But his attention never left Yu Fei.
Yu Fei took a step forward and motioned for everyone to quiet down. He looked at the crowd of nearly two hundred people. He recognized many of them, or at least had seen their faces before, even if he couldn’t recall their names.
His gaze traveled to Jiang Nianwei in the distance, lingering on the scar on her forehead. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy.
From what Liu Ze and the others had told him, he understood how difficult it had been for Jiang Nianwei to hold the Yulin Army together. During Yu Fei’s absence, the Yulin Army had barely scraped by on many of its missions. Without a top-tier expert to lead them, Jiang Nianwei had to be the one to face the toughest challenges head-on, relying on the combined strength of everyone to pull through.
Jiang Nianwei already possessed the presence of a great general. After nearly two years of trials, her aura had become even more remarkable, not losing out in the slightest when she stood next to Li Jueyin.
Yu Fei took another step forward, meeting her ardent, joyful gaze. He was about to speak when Jiang Nianwei rushed forward and threw her arms around him in a tight hug.
Jiang Nianwei’s gentle voice sounded in his mind.
"Welcome back, Lord of the Yulin Army!"
A sense of guilt instantly arose in Yu Fei’s heart. He replied in his mind:
"You’ve worked hard."
Jiang Nianwei’s arms were tight around him. She didn’t know what had made her so bold. Hearing Yu Fei’s words, she felt a moment of satisfaction before letting him go and speaking again through the mental network.
"I’m fine. You don’t owe me anything. In fact, the Yulin Army has benefited greatly because of you!"
Jiang Nianwei’s smile was radiant. As she had hugged him, she had taken a deep breath. His scent was pleasant, as warm as sunshine.
In truth, during Yu Fei’s absence, Mr. Tang had given her a great deal of guidance, perhaps to make up for something. Not only that, Tang Lihui had even taken the time to instruct other members of the Yulin Army and had given them preferential—though subtle—treatment on many missions.
Yu Fei’s gaze swept over everyone. These were his classmates, his comrades-in-arms. He had to deal with this Yu Wen Baji business, whether or not Ye Shuping was pulling the strings from behind the scenes.
As of now, Yu Fei was still unaware of Yu Wen Baji’s ability to affect everyone’s True Martial Intent. Frankly, such an ability sounded bizarre, even incomprehensible. It didn’t seem like something achievable through the martial arts of this world.
He then took a step forward and addressed the crowd.
"Brothers, I’m Yu Fei!"
His voice was deep and powerful. Everyone felt as if he were speaking directly to them. It was incredibly piercing, yet not at all loud.
"I regret that I haven’t been able to fight alongside you all for some time. Now, I want to make up for that. Let’s break through Matie Road together, charge onto the main battlefield of Celestial Sword Gorge, and fight our way right up to Yu Wen Baji! Let’s show him that the glory of the first victory in this war belongs to us!"
"KILL!"
"KILL!"
"KILL!"
...
Yu Fei didn’t use any flowery rhetoric. He simply told them his plan. Any grievances from the battlefield would be settled on the battlefield.
Yu Fei had both the confidence and the strength to back it up.
Following Yu Fei’s charge, the despair in their hearts had already begun to crack. The psychological trauma left by Yu Wen Baji was gradually being purged.
Now, as they followed him, a light pierced the inner darkness, and their spirits soared with renewed battle intent.
"Alright, brothers, with me! Charge!"
The moment he finished speaking, Yu Fei used his Void Clearing Mirror as a foundation to cast out a mental network, pulling everyone into it.
By this stage, almost everyone had cultivated a perception-based Secret Technique. Their skill levels varied, however; some could only establish a link with a small squad of five to ten people.
But with so many perception-based Secret Techniques layered together, Yu Fei immediately felt a difference. His own perception had been significantly weakened by the Evil Magnetic Forbidden Land, but now, boosted by the Secret Techniques of nearly two hundred prodigies, a complete and accurate picture of their surroundings materialized within the Void Clearing Mirror.
Countless streams of information flowed through the Void Clearing Mirror. Backed by his superhuman spiritual soul and reaction speed, Yu Fei silently issued an endless stream of commands.
The once-chaotic group miraculously became organized and efficient. They formed various squads based on their individual strengths, specialties, and cultivation realms. These squads, in turn, were intricately interlinked, creating a complex yet orderly web.
For the first time, the Void Clearing Mirror—the foremost Daoist Qingjing Strange Skill of the Middle Ages—revealed its true prowess. Its powerful information-processing capabilities, instantaneous reaction time, and multi-threaded command structure stunned the assembled prodigies.
With so many prodigy Martial Artists gathered together, the mental network’s processing power reached an unprecedented level. With Yu Fei’s support, they even managed to create multi-layered chat groups.
"Boss Yu Fei gave me a direct combat order! I’m reporting directly to him!"
"Heh... who isn’t? Open your damn eyes and look. The boss is commanding every single one of us directly!"
"What? How is that even possible?"
"Yeah, his head doesn’t look that big. How can he have so much brain capacity?"
"Bullshit! What the hell does the scale of a mental network have to do with brain capacity!"
"Well, brain capacity has nothing to do with head size either!"
...
Zhang Xunyi’s gaze was clear. As a Sword Cultivator, he prided himself on his perception, which was enhanced by his Sword Intent, giving him extremely fast mental reflexes. If he were to establish a mental network, he could probably link a hundred people if he really pushed himself. But he could never achieve something as monstrous as what Yu Fei was doing. It wasn’t just the sheer number of people; it was the fact that Yu Fei could incorporate every single one of them into his direct command.
"This is unscientific!"
In the small channel Feng Hua and a few others had created, they were already raising a storm.
The others just thought Yu Fei was incredible, but they didn’t grasp the full extent of it. However, as the key leaders of their respective classes, they moved in wider circles and had encountered even stronger prodigy Martial Artists. They knew for a fact that no one at this stage could directly command two hundred people at once.
Even for a prodigy at the Grandmaster level, pushing that number past twenty was considered the absolute limit.
Normally, the host of a mental network would only add key individuals to the primary network. They would then grant secondary permissions to those individuals, who would, in turn, build out lower levels, creating a pyramid-like command structure with information relayed up and commands issued down through the various tiers of authority.
Furthermore, the mental strain from stacking the perception systems of so many prodigy Martial Artists would be unimaginable, yet Yu Fei was handling it all. It was simply inhuman.
To do what Yu Fei was doing—to bring everyone into a single network and command them all directly—was considered impossible.
"Is he even human?"
Qingshan roared frantically in the mental network. The expert said nothing, just silently spamming the word "Incredible."
Zhang Xunyi gritted his teeth and said solemnly, "Yu Fei... if he can make Yu Wen Baji suffer a loss, I’ll finally accept he’s the best."
Li Jueyin laughed. "All you’ve got left is a stubborn mouth. Based on the power Yu Fei’s shown today, he’s a total badass whether you admit it or not!"
"Damn, where the hell did this guy get his private training? He’s so strong. Every time I asked where he was, Mr. Tang would just say he was on a secret mission. Don’t tell me some big shot took him on as a personal disciple."
"Maybe a rich sugar mama took a liking to him!" Lin Zihao whispered slyly.
"Ahem. Everyone seems very relaxed."
Yu Fei’s voice rang out unexpectedly, and the small channel instantly fell silent.
"You’re a freak! You have enough spare capacity to eavesdrop on us?"
Zhang Xunyi couldn’t understand it. ’How can someone so freakish exist?’
Just then, Yu Fei’s annoyingly smug voice echoed in the small channel: "Isn’t this a piece of cake? What, you can’t do it?"
"Fuck off!"
