Chapter 666: Chapter 515: A Show of Dominance: Charging into the Beast Race Alone
Then, the cup in his hand was crushed to pieces.
“That damn brat thinks he’s all grown up now, huh?! He even dares to give me orders?!” Li Tiannan tossed the shattered remains of the cup into the trash can.
His gaze then shifted to an elder standing behind him.
The elder’s expression was solemn.
He remained completely unmoved by the aura emanating from Li Tiannan.
“Reporting!” Just then, a voice called out from outside the military tent.
“Enter,” the elder said, turning his head.
“Reporting to Vice Commander Shen, Division Commander Shen has returned and is now outside the tent!” After speaking, the messenger retreated to the tent’s entrance.
“Alone?” the elder asked.
“Yes, sir!”
“Mm… let her in…”
“Yes, sir!”
The messenger withdrew.
Li Tiannan, however, took a deep, heavy breath at this moment.
“Shen Changsheng, the only person who can control that damn brat Gao Neng right now… is probably your granddaughter. Why don’t you take this opportunity to…”
“Reporting.” A person walked in from outside.
She wore a black military uniform, her hair tied up. A faint layer of dust from the road coated her, but her eyes were exceptionally bright.
“Ning’Er, you already know about Gao Neng’s situation, don’t you?” Shen Changsheng glanced at Li Tiannan beside him before turning to Shen Ning’Er.
“Yes. He contacted me the moment he returned to the North District, so I learned about it while I was on the road,” Shen Ning’Er nodded.
“Oh? Since you knew so early, why didn’t you rush to the Federation Government to help him, and instead came back here to me?” Shen Changsheng asked again.
“He has already broken through to the Ninth-Order. He can handle the matter with the Federation Government himself. During this time, the Eastern District Fortress needs to make some arrangements,” Shen Ning’Er replied, seeming to have prepared her answer in advance.
“So, you came this time… bringing his strategic plans and arrangements?” Upon hearing this, Shen Changsheng glanced at Li Tiannan again.
“Yes!” Shen Ning’Er nodded.
“This is so damn insulting!” Li Tiannan cursed outright, then glanced at Shen Ning’Er. “That brat sent me orders from afar, and I could just pretend I didn’t hear them. But now this is even better… sending his wife here to me. Does he not trust me that much?”
Li Tiannan looked at Shen Ning’Er.
His eyes seemed to burn with rage.
But Shen Ning’Er remained silent, as if she hadn’t heard Li Tiannan’s angry outburst and frustration at all.
The military tent fell silent.
One minute.
Two minutes.
Three minutes.
Finally, Li Tiannan couldn’t take it anymore.
“Fine, fine, fine! Go on, what are the arrangements?” Li Tiannan said, then plopped down into a chair and turned his head to the side. “Your grand—… Vice Commander Shen is currently the acting commander-in-chief. Just tell us what plans and arrangements you have!”
“First, immediately form 20 elite units. The requirement… is that each unit will have 3,000 soldiers, configured according to standard military structure. The only difference is that each unit will be assigned one ‘Vanguard Officer’,” Shen Ning’Er began without hesitation.
“Vanguard Officer?” Shen Changsheng was a little surprised.
“Correct. The Vanguard Officers will be geniuses from the Dragon List. There will be 20 Vanguard Officers in total. I have already prepared a list here.” Shen Ning’Er handed over the list she had ready.
Shen Changsheng took it and glanced at it.
The geniuses from the Dragon List—Wei Ya, Zhou Jin, Shaximo, Yi Qingge, Yi Qinglian, and others… including Fang Tangtang—were all on it.
“Why establish these Vanguard Officer positions? Militarily speaking, they lack battlefield command experience. And in the long run, they are the true geniuses of the Alliance. From a development standpoint, wouldn’t it be more appropriate to place them in the command headquarters?”
“They cannot be placed in the command headquarters,” Shen Ning’Er shook her head.
“Why?”
“I don’t know either.”
“You don’t know either?!” Shen Changsheng’s eyes narrowed. He naturally didn’t think Shen Ning’Er was lying, but what kind of arrangement was this…
‘That even Shen Ning’Er isn’t privy to?’
‘What exactly is Gao Neng’s plan for this decisive battle against the Beast Race?’
“Alright, I will make the arrangements for this. Are there any other plans or deployments?” Although Shen Changsheng didn’t quite understand, he ultimately didn’t question it.
It wasn’t just because of his trust in Shen Ning’Er and Gao Neng.
It was because the Gao Neng of today was truly his superior officer…
The supreme military commander of the Alliance.
As a soldier,
Shen Changsheng had always abided by one rule: to obey orders was his sacred duty!
“There is one more piece of news,” Shen Ning’Er said.
“News? What news?”
HUM!
A wave of energy shielded the military tent.
Shen Changsheng and Li Tiannan naturally sensed this was Shen Ning’Er’s doing.
‘What matter requires such caution?’
‘She could speak of the strategic deployment, but this couldn’t be said directly?’
“Gao Neng’s mother is the Fairy Dragon, Bai Feixue,” Shen Ning’Er said immediately after releasing the wave of energy.
“What?!”
“What did you say?!”
The moment this news was revealed, it wasn’t just Li Tiannan; even Shen Changsheng was startled.
The Fairy Dragon, Bai Feixue…
‘…is Gao Neng’s mother?!’
“If that brat’s mother is the Fairy Dragon Bai Feixue, then wouldn’t his father be…” Li Tiannan’s words trailed off as he abruptly shut his mouth.
“Elder Li, who is his father?” Shen Changsheng looked at Li Tiannan.
“I can’t say… I had a hard time prying the information about Bai Feixue out of Old Qin. He warned me repeatedly not to leak anything about her, or I might be ‘silenced’.” Li Tiannan clamped his mouth shut.
“What? Si… silenced?” Shen Changsheng was truly dumbfounded by Li Tiannan’s words. After all, Li Tiannan was one of the Strongest.
‘One of the Strongest is afraid of being silenced?’
‘Unbelievable!’
“Anyway, I can’t just go around talking about Bai Feixue. Wait… why would Gao Neng specifically tell you that Bai Feixue is his mother? For him to tell you this at a time like this, there must be another reason, right?” Li Tiannan suddenly realized something.
“Correct. He told me about his mother because the Northern District Battlefield is now under our control,” Shen Ning’Er nodded and explained.
“Oh, the Northern District Battlefield is secure, right… Wait a minute, did you say the Northern District Battlefield? Not the North District Fortress?!” Li Tiannan was about to nod, but he froze mid-motion.
“Yes, I said the Northern District Battlefield. A total of twenty-five races are now all under Gao Neng’s control. This is the reason why Gao Neng said he wants to launch a war against the Beast Race in the Eastern District,” Shen Ning’Er confirmed with another nod.
“What?!”
“How is that possible?!”
“The North District’s twenty-five non-human races… were brought under Gao Neng’s control?”
“Is he a monster?”
“This is absolutely impossible! The non-human races and us humans are irreconcilable enemies! How could he possibly control them? Shen Ning’Er, this joke has gone a little too far!”
Li Tiannan shook his head repeatedly.
He didn’t believe it!
In fact, if anyone were to say such a thing, no one would believe it!
But just then, Shen Ning’Er took out a map.
On the map, several marching routes were clearly drawn in different colors, and each route was annotated.
“This is the coordinated attack route map for our Human Alliance and the non-human armies of the Northern District Battlefield!” Shen Ning’Er placed the map in front of Li Tiannan and Shen Changsheng.
“Nonsense!” Li Tiannan leaped to his feet. “This is just reckless commanding… I absolutely refuse to believe it! The non-human races can’t be trusted! Gao Neng has been deceived! He must have been hit by some ‘Demon Technique’ to be spouting such gibberish! If he really had that kind of power, why hasn’t he gone to retrieve Elder Jian’s body?”
“He… has already gone.”
“Huh?!”
“Yes. Alone.” After speaking, Shen Ning’Er’s gaze drifted faintly toward the frigid wind raging outside the tent.
