I Begged His Brother to Get Me Pregnant
Chapter 204: Don’t Kneel, Get Up
Chapter 204: Chapter 204: Don’t Kneel, Get Up
To be fair, Florence Morgan also felt her son had gone too far.
And all for another woman, no less!
That... was truly hard to forgive.
She had helped her son time and again, gambling on the fact that Evelyn Grant would eventually relent.
After all, for so many years, she had been nothing but good to Julian Sterling. She had managed his meals and daily life, taken care of his parents, and never once complained.
But now...
Florence Morgan had to admit that Evelyn Grant was likely hurt beyond repair.
"Mom, I must have lost my mind! It’s all my fault. I was wrong, I’m a bastard! I just want one more chance! If we can just get remarried, I’ll report my entire schedule to her every day. I won’t even glance at another woman. I’ll let her check my phone every day, show up at my company whenever she wants—I’ll do anything!"
Julian Sterling didn’t want freedom anymore.
He just wanted Evelyn Grant back in their home.
"The problem is, you want her back now, but Eve doesn’t!"
"I have a plan, I really do! If you can just get Ryan out of the picture—keep him from meddling in my affairs with Evelyn Grant while he’s here—I know I can win her back!"
Seeing Florence Morgan still hesitate, Julian Sterling dropped to his knees right then and there.
THUD.
The sound startled Florence Morgan, who instinctively took a step forward. "You—what are you doing!"
"Mom... I have no other choice! If there was any other way, I wouldn’t be begging you like this! I know this is hard for you, and I know you’re caught in the middle, but this is my entire life’s happiness on the line! I can’t let go of Evelyn Grant. I can’t move on from her."
And he meant it.
Julian Sterling now spent most of his time at the office because he couldn’t bear to go back to his apartment—back to that home.
Every time he walked through the door, he was hit by an overwhelming sense of loss.
Traces of Evelyn Grant were everywhere. Her presence had once filled every corner, but now...
...she herself was gone.
Julian Sterling would walk in, see the shoe cabinet, and picture Evelyn Grant carefully wiping it down, smiling as she asked him, "Tired today? There’s food on the table."
He’d change his shoes, walk into the bedroom, and remember the sight of Evelyn Grant, head bowed, changing the bedding for him.
She knew he was a neat freak, so she would change it for him almost every day after she got home from work. She’d send the old set to be washed and sanitized, then make the bed perfectly smooth.
Evelyn Grant did all of this herself, never entrusting it to anyone else.
Even when he wouldn’t come home for days, she would still change the sheets and keep the house immaculately clean.
’But now...’
’...there was nothing.’
In that huge apartment, not a single trace of Evelyn Grant’s presence remained.
Julian Sterling couldn’t stand the stark contrast for even a minute.
He’d rather sleep on the cot in the private lounge of his office than go back there.
He would only go back when Evelyn Grant came back.
"Julian, stop kneeling! Get up!"
"Mom, if you don’t promise to help me, I’m not getting up!" As he spoke, Julian Sterling raised a hand and slapped himself hard across the face. "I’m a bastard! This is all my fault, I was wrong! Mom, please, just take pity on me. Without Evelyn Grant, I’m really going to die old and alone!"
It would be a lie to say Florence Morgan wasn’t moved.
He was her own flesh and blood, after all. How could her heart not ache for him?
