[Hey, System! System! If I sew his hand back onto his arm, is there a chance it can reattach?]

The system quickly replied, [It might be possible, Host. However, stitching wounds can be quite tricky, and—]

Roxanna immediately cut it off. [It’s not like I need to stitch him up perfectly.]

She did not need to become a skilled surgeon overnight. As long as she could put Skiv’s severed hand back in the right place and stitch it firmly enough to keep it attached, her blood should be able to take care of the rest.

After all, her blood had already shown just how powerful its healing ability was.

[System, find me a medical tool kit in the system market,] Roxanna ordered without wasting another second. [Make sure it has a needle and thread for stitching wounds. I need everything necessary to sew his hand back on.]

The system immediately began searching through the system market.

A few seconds later, several items appeared in front of Roxanna’s eyes, but she barely had the patience to read through all of them.

[Just pick one that has everything I need,] Roxanna urged. [I don’t care if it’s expensive.]

[Understood, Host.]

The list disappeared before another window appeared in its place.

[Basic Emergency Medical Kit: 13,500 SP]

[The kit contains medical scissors, forceps, needles, sutures, bandages, disinfectant, gloves, and several other tools commonly used to treat injuries.]

Roxanna did not hesitate. [Buy it!]

[Purchased 1x Basic Emergency Medical Kit: 13,500 SP]

[Remaining Spirit Points (SP): 439,150]

"W-What is that?" Skiv stammered when Roxanna suddenly pulled a box filled with strange medical tools out of her inventory. His eyes widened as he stared at everything inside. "Is that another thing from the magic portal?"

Roxanna nodded. "Yes. These tools can help me attach your hand again, but you’ll have to endure the pain for a while first."

She then turned toward Cyrus. "Please help me hold him still."

The moment Skiv heard those words, his entire body stiffened. For some reason, he suddenly had a very bad feeling about this.

Maybe losing one hand wasn’t actually that terrible. After all, he still had another hand, didn’t he?

However, another thought immediately entered his mind. What if he couldn’t hold his cat properly anymore with only one hand?

Skiv’s expression instantly became serious.

No. Absolutely not!

He couldn’t let that happen!

Whatever Roxanna was planning to do to him, he would endure it. He needed both hands so he could hold his cat again!

"She wouldn’t do anything unless she thought it would help you," Cyrus reassured him as he sat directly behind Skiv and prepared to hold him still. "Just trust her. You’ll be fine."

Roxanna swallowed nervously when she heard that. [I honestly have never stitched someone’s wound before, but hearing Cyrus say that somehow makes me feel a little braver.]

[At least I used to sew torn clothes quite often back then. It shouldn’t be that different, right?]

Of course, it was completely different.

Still, knowing how to sew even a little was surely better than knowing nothing at all.

Roxanna took a deep breath as she picked up the needle. "Just breathe deeply, and you’ll be fine," she murmured softly. "You’ll be fine. You’ll be fine. You’ll be fine."

Skiv frowned at her. "Yes, I trust you. You don’t have to keep repeating it."

"What?" Roxanna raised one of her eyebrows. "I’m not talking to you."

Skiv blinked several times, looking at her in confusion.

Roxanna looked back down at the needle in her hand before softly adding, "I’m talking to myself."

Skiv stared at Roxanna for a few seconds before slowly turning his head toward Cyrus. The nervous look on his face seemed to ask whether it was still possible for him to change his mind.

Unfortunately, Cyrus only tightened his arms around Skiv’s body. "You already said you trusted her," Cyrus reminded him.

"I didn’t know she was trying to comfort herself!" Skiv complained.

Roxanna ignored the two of them and focused on the medical kit. She had already cleaned Skiv’s severed hand and the wound on his arm as carefully as she could. Now came the part she had been dreading the most.

She picked up Skiv’s hand and carefully placed it against his arm, trying to make sure everything lined up properly.

[System, is this position correct?]

[Move it slightly to the left, Host.]

Roxanna immediately followed the instruction. [Like this?]

[A little more.]

Roxanna moved it again.

[Correct.]

Roxanna let out a sigh of relief. At least she had the system to guide her. Without it, she probably would have spent the next ten minutes moving Skiv’s hand around while wondering whether she was about to attach it crookedly.

"Alright," Roxanna said as she picked up the needle. "I’m going to start now."

Skiv immediately squeezed his eyes shut. "Wait!"

Roxanna stopped before the needle could touch his skin. "What?"

Skiv took several deep breaths before looking down at his severed hand. "Will I really be able to use it again?"

"I can’t promise that," Roxanna answered honestly. "But if I leave it like this, you definitely won’t be able to use it again."

Skiv thought about her words for a moment before slowly nodding. He leaned back against Cyrus and closed his eyes once more. "Do it."

After that, Roxanna carefully pushed the needle through his skin, making Skiv’s body jerked so violently that Cyrus almost lost his grip on him.

"Aaaaah!"

"Don’t move!" Roxanna shouted.

"You stabbed me!" Skiv shouted.

Roxanna spoke firmly, "I told you I was going to sew your hand back on. Of course I have to stab you with the needle!"

Skiv spoke with eyes filled with tears. "You didn’t say it would hurt this much!"

"I told you to endure the pain!" Roxanna softened her voice the moment she noticed the boy’s pitiful expression. "You did a great job making the poison that killed the demon beast today. That’s why, if you want to keep making more useful poisons, you have to endure the pain so you can keep both of your hands."
