Skiv frowned at him. "It’s not like I know every poisonous plant in this forest!"

Even so, he still walked toward the bush.

Skiv crouched in front of it and leaned closer, carefully studying the berries. He stared at them for a few moments before slowly reaching out his hand.

However, just as his fingers were about to touch one of the berries, the entire bush suddenly shook.

Rustle!

Before Skiv could pull his hand back, another plant sprang out from behind the bush. Its mouth opened wide like a giant insect-eating plant.

Chomp!

Skiv’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.

"AAAAAH! MY HAND!" he screamed as he desperately tried to pull himself away. "THE PLANT ATE MY HAND!"

His scream became even louder when he realized that his hand had been completely ripped off his arm. Blood immediately poured from the wound, and Skiv stumbled backward in horror as he stared at what was left of his wrist.

Roxanna quickly shouted, "Luan, get his hand!"

Luan didn’t even reply to her as he immediately rushed toward the insect-eating plant that had disguised itself as a harmless berry bush.

"Get back!" he shouted at Skiv.

However, instead of running away like he usually would, Skiv reached into his bag with his remaining hand. He bit down hard on his lower lip, desperately trying to hold back his tears and screams from the pain.

Even if he had already lost his hand, he refused to let this chance go to waste.

"Luan! Use this!" Skiv suddenly shouted.

He pulled something from his bag and threw it toward Luan.

Luan quickly caught it and looked down at the strange object in his hand. At first glance, it looked somewhat like a syringe, but it was much rougher than anything Roxanna had ever seen before.

The syringe was made from a small hollow bird bone, with one end carefully sharpened into a pointed tip.

However, the sharp end had been covered with a small piece of thick animal skin and tightly tied with a thin plant fiber, preventing whatever was inside from leaking out.

Roxanna immediately understood what Skiv had made. It was nowhere near as neat as the syringes she knew from her previous world, but the idea behind it was almost the same.

"Take the cover off first!" Skiv shouted through the pain. "Then stab it into that thing and push the other end!"

Luan quickly pulled the small leather cover from the pointed tip. A tiny drop of dark green liquid appeared at the opening, making him immediately realize what Skiv had put inside.

"Is this poison?" he asked.

"Of course it’s poison!" Skiv yelled. His face had already turned pale from losing so much blood, but he still managed to look offended. "What else would I put in there?!"

Luan had no time to argue with him. The strange plant had already finished swallowing whatever remained inside its mouth, and its large jaws opened once again.

This time, it turned toward Luan.

Luan waited until the plant lunged at him before quickly moving to the side. Its mouth snapped shut only a few fingers away from his shoulder.

Before the plant could pull back, Luan grabbed its thick stem with one hand and drove the pointed bone deep into it with the other.

He immediately pressed the back of the syringe.

The dark green poison flowed through the hollow bone and entered the plant.

"My hand!" Skiv shouted in panic. "It swallowed my hand!"

Luan clicked his tongue. There was no point trying to calm Skiv down right now, especially when his hand was still inside that thing.

Meanwhile, the plant suddenly began to shake violently. Its thick stem twisted wildly from side to side as the poison quickly spread through it.

Luan did not waste another second. He grabbed both sides of the plant’s mouth and forced it open with his bare hands.

Fortunately, the poison had already started to take effect. The plant was quickly growing weak and its body had begun to wilt, so Luan didn’t have to struggle for long before he managed to pull its mouth wide open.

"This is why you should be careful about what you eat," Luan casually told the plant.

Without showing the slightest bit of pity, he tore its mouth open even wider before reaching inside. His fingers quickly found Skiv’s severed hand among the mess inside, and he pulled it out.

"Oh, what a mess," Cyrus suddenly said.

He was standing on a tree branch not far from the strange plant, looking down at everything that had just happened.

Luan clicked his tongue once again. "Why did you even come down? You should’ve just stayed in the sky."

Cyrus completely ignored him and made his way toward Roxanna, who was already beside Skiv.

Roxanna gently helped the boy sit down on the ground while trying her best to keep him calm. "Take a deep breath and try not to panic. If you panic too much, your heart will beat faster and you’ll lose even more blood."

Skiv quickly took several deep breaths, but no matter how hard he tried, he still couldn’t calm himself down.

"My hand... My hand is gone..." Skiv murmured as he stared blankly at his bleeding arm. "I don’t have a hand anymore."

Roxanna’s heart sank at the sight of him. Skiv was still so young. Losing a hand at his age would affect him for the rest of his life.

"Skiv, don’t worry." Roxanna tried to give him a reassuring smile. "I might be able to attach your hand again."

Skiv immediately looked up at her, and hope appeared in his eyes. "Really?"

Roxanna’s smile became a little awkward. "I’ll try my best."

At least, she hoped it was possible.

After all, it would be difficult to heal a body part that had been separated from someone’s body with her blood alone.

She immediately called out to the system in her mind. [Hey, System! System! If I sew his hand back onto his arm, can I somehow attach it again?]
