Chapter 448: SVOP: Chapter 448
"Halt! You from the Blue Sea! This is the passage leading to the upper levels of the Divine Kingdom — you are forbidden from entering!"
Before Vladimir could even speak, Dax stepped forward and shouted back, "Stand aside! This is Lord Divine General!"
"Divine General?" The two guards froze in confusion.
Vladimir’s gaze sharpened, and instantly, a brilliant holy light radiated from his body, shining with a sacred aura.
The soldiers were stunned. Such immense Holy Light... just how favored is this Divine General by the Saintess?
"If it is truly Lord Divine General, then please, enter! Open the gate!"
The heavy double doors groaned and slowly swung open. Vladimir was actually surprised by the raw strength of these two guards.
"After you, Lord Divine General!"
Vladimir said nothing and stepped into the passage.
Truth be told, he didn’t need to go through all this trouble; he could have simply flown straight up.
But he was still curious about this so-called Divine Kingdom, and since he wasn’t in a rush, he decided to play by their rules for now.
As he climbed the stairs leading to the middle tier, Vladimir asked, "All these Divine Soldiers have wings on their backs — they are clearly natives of the sky. But I am from the Blue Sea. How is it that they so easily accepted me as a Divine General?"
"I don’t know about that," Dax laughed. "But actually, quite a few Priests here are from the Blue Sea. The Saintess allows outsiders to enter the kingdom specifically to scout for powerful warriors. She brainwashes them into becoming devout followers. I was even selected once... though I managed to get myself disqualified before ever meeting her."
Got yourself disqualified... Vladimir mused. Interesting. He must have realized something was wrong and backed out on purpose.
Dax continued, "Oh right! The monthly Divine Selection ceremony is coming up soon. That’s when the Saintess finally shows herself. They say she is the most beautiful woman in the heavens, comparable even to the world’s greatest beauty, Boa Hancock."
The Pirate Empress, huh... Vladimir thought to himself, showing no particular reaction.
After climbing thousands of steps, they finally arrived at the Middle Tier.
But just as they exited the gate, a figure with flapping wings blocked their path, standing amidst a blinding white light.
"I heard someone from below say a Divine General was coming up. I don’t believe it! It’s not the day of the Divine Selection — how could there be a new General?!"
The newcomer stood with arms crossed, staring intently at Vladimir. "I am Rigo, Divine General and the Saintess’s most faithful servant. Who... are you?"
"I am Rigo, Divine General. Answer me — who are you?!"
Standing before Vladimir was a winged man. He wore light armor and held a long spear.
His features were sharp and angular, and his eyes were filled with wariness as he looked at Vladimir.
"So this is a Divine General..."
Vladimir remained calm, observing the man closely. Unlike the other sky dwellers, this man possessed true angelic wings, spanning several meters across.
But that wasn’t the important part. What mattered was that Vladimir could clearly sense the power of Holy Light radiating from him.
Seeing that Vladimir remained silent, Rigo frowned. "I feel no faith or devotion within you. It seems those fools downstairs were blind enough to let an outsider like you pass! Very well then — as the Guardian of this tier, I will personally remove you!"
With a sharp flick of his wrist, his spear thrust forward like a crackling bolt of lightning.
Holy Light blazed at the spear’s tip, doubling its destructive power. As he thrust, Rigo locked onto Vladimir’s aura, as if this single strike could pierce through anything in existence.
"A spear specialist, I see..."
Vladimir raised an eyebrow. Turning his left hand over, he condensed a massive amount of Holy Light into a solid golden spear and met the attack head-on.
"What?!" Rigo was shocked. That is definitely Holy Light! But... he just formed a weapon purely out of it! Even the Saintess herself cannot do that!
Before he could process this, the two spears collided.
BOOM!
The moment the tips met, the two streams of Holy Light exploded outward.
Rigo didn’t even last a single second. Instantly, he was overwhelmed and swallowed by the sheer magnitude of power.
The Holy Light contained in Vladimir’s strike was ten times greater in both quality and quantity than Rigo’s.
"Impossible... how can you wield such immense Holy Light?!"
Rigo cried out in horror as he was sent flying backward by the impact.
A pillar of holy light shot straight up into the sky, tearing through the clouds. Everyone on the Middle Tier saw it clearly.
"What is happening?! That aura... it’s Rigo!"
"It came from the central stairs! Who is he fighting?!"
"The aura is unfamiliar... but the Holy Light is massive! Is it... the Saintess?!"
Shocked gasps echoed from every direction.
Ordinary people might not understand the difference, but as a Divine General, Rigo was incredibly sensitive to this energy.
The power within that strike was so vast and pure, it rivaled the Saintess herself. No mere General could ever possess such strength.
After a long moment, the pillar of light piercing the heavens finally faded.
High in the air, Rigo — having taken the full force of the blow — lost the ability to fly and plummeted straight down.
THUD!
He crashed heavily onto the ground right in front of the gate.
"This is the combat power of a Divine General?" Vladimir recalled his spear and walked forward.
"Too weak. You couldn’t even withstand one-fifth of my power."
Currently, the Divine Archangel was a 3-Star avatar, equivalent to the strength of a Four Emperor.
The Holy Light within him was immense; compared to these so-called Generals, it was like comparing a vast river to a tiny stream.
"So strong... he took down a Divine General with one hit!"
Dax muttered in disbelief, staring at Vladimir. "Br... Brother... no — Sir! Just who are you?!"
To wield Holy Light and possess such overwhelming power... this man was certainly no nobody.
But no matter how hard Dax thought, he couldn’t place him or match him to any known figure.
Vladimir ignored him. He walked out of the gate and stopped in front of Rigo.
Rigo was badly injured, yet his body continued to radiate Holy Light, rapidly healing his wounds.
