Bian Suwen held one of the small paper packets of medicinal powder and walked over to the bedside. Without hesitation, she reached out and tapped Shao Wanwan’s body at a specific acupoint.

Shao Wanwan’s eyelids fluttered slightly before she slowly regained consciousness. As her vision cleared, the first faces she saw were Bian Suwen and Mu Nanzhi.

Panic surged within her. She tried to sit up, but her limbs refused to move—her entire body was locked in place.

“So even a vixen knows fear?” Bian Suwen sneered coldly, catching the flicker of alarm in Shao Wanwan’s eyes.

“Bian Suwen, I’m warning you, don’t do anything reckless. If my clan’s Old Ancestor finds out about this, you’re finished,” Shao Wanwan threatened, her voice sharp.

“Where’s the footage of Nanzhi from that night? I want the original and all backups. Hand them over.” With her elder sister supporting her from behind the scenes, Bian Suwen spoke with utter confidence, showing no trace of fear toward Shao Wanwan’s threats.

Shao Wanwan’s heart tightened. There was no footage at all. She had made it up to keep Mu Nanzhi in check—a lie, nothing more.

“I can give it to you… But only if you let me go first.” She wasn’t stupid. There was no way she’d admit the truth, so she shifted into bargaining instead.

“You think I’m a three-year-old? If I let you go now, you’ll vanish without a trace.” Bian Suwen scoffed, her expression laced with disdain. Her voice suddenly sharpened. “My patience is limited. Are you handing it over or not?”

“Let me go, and I’ll give it to you. Otherwise, don’t even dream about it,” Shao Wanwan said stubbornly, lifting her chin with defiance.

“Fine. Since you’re asking for trouble, don’t blame me.” Without any more nonsense, Bian Suwen picked up the paper packet and prepared to force-feed the powder into Shao Wanwan’s mouth.

“Hey, hey, don’t mess around! I don’t have the antidote with me!” Recognizing the powder instantly, Shao Wanwan’s face went pale, and she cried out urgently.

Hearing this, Mu Nanzhi clenched her teeth in fury. Those words… they sounded all too familiar.

“I never planned to give you the antidote in the first place. What would you need it for?” Bian Suwen gripped Shao Wanwan’s jaw, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

“Bian Suwen, if you kill me, my clan’s Old Ancestor won’t let you off!” Shao Wanwan shouted anxiously, her voice trembling.

“Relax. It won’t kill you, even without the antidote.” Bian Suwen blinked slowly, her tone oddly gentle.

That look, that voice—Shao Wanwan immediately understood. A chill rushed through her, and she panicked. “Bian Suwen, I beg you… Please, don’t do this to me.”

“Oh? A vixen like you cares about this kind of thing too?” Bian Suwen stared at her with narrowed eyes, catching every nuance of her reaction. There was no doubt now—her guess was spot on.

“Mu Nanzhi… I didn’t mean to hurt you. That day, I just wanted to mess with you a little. I never thought things would spiral like that.” Shao Wanwan turned to Mu Nanzhi instead, trying to plead with her, hoping there was still a sliver of mercy to grasp.

“You think saying it wasn’t intentional makes everything okay?” Mu Nanzhi’s eyes were rimmed with red.

She had planned to give herself, whole and unblemished, to the one she loved. But thanks to Shao Wanwan’s so-called prank, everything had been ruined.

Though the one she loved said he didn’t mind, Mu Nanzhi couldn’t let it go. That night lingered in her heart like a thorn—painful, impossible to remove.

“You can cut off one of my hands if you want, but please, not this… I’m begging you,” Shao Wanwan’s voice broke, choked with helpless sobs.

“What was the identity of the man you brought in that day? I want his information,” Mu Nanzhi asked, her face cold and expressionless.

“I… I don’t know him. I just grabbed someone at random…” Shao Wanwan couldn’t possibly expose the truth about her clan’s Old Ancestor.

“You—” Mu Nanzhi clenched her fists, furious.

She had hoped Shao Wanwan would spill his name so she could get revenge. But now she claimed she didn’t even know him?

“I know what he looks like. Let me go, and I promise I’ll find him for you,” Shao Wanwan offered desperately.

“Spare us the lies. Do you really think we’re that stupid?” Bian Suwen interrupted flatly. Her gaze fixed on Shao Wanwan again. “One last time. Are you handing over the footage or not?”

“Let me go, and I’ll give it to you. Otherwise, it’s impossible. If you touch me, I’ll release that footage to the public,” Shao Wanwan replied, steeling her resolve.

“Fine. Then let’s make this fair. You’re holding something over Nanzhi, so she’ll hold something over you. That way, you won’t dare expose anything,” Bian Suwen said. Then, without another word, she pried Shao Wanwan’s mouth open and forced the powder down her throat.

“You wicked woman! I curse you to be abandoned by the man you love, left heartbroken and alone, until you hang yourself in despair!” Shao Wanwan’s expression twisted as she realized there was no turning back. Her voice rang with hatred.

She knew Bian Suwen was involved with her Old Ancestor, who had only gotten close to her for the sake of vengeance against Yixian Valley. She believed Bian Suwen would inevitably meet a tragic end.

“Against a vixen like you, reasoning is pointless. As for being abandoned, you’re overthinking it. My boyfriend and I are very much in love,” Bian Suwen replied casually, completely unaffected.

Shao Wanwan opened her mouth to curse more, but the poison had already begun to take effect. Her speech slurred, and her vision blurred. She could no longer form coherent words.

She saw two women standing before her, but somehow her drugged mind began to twist them into the shapes of two men. She knew it was just an illusion caused by the drug, but knowing did nothing to stop it.

Thankfully, her body was still paralyzed, or else she might have lunged forward uncontrollably.

Bian Suwen scooped her up in her arms and carried her out through a small side door, heading toward the room next door.

“Since she laughed at you before, want to watch how she gets punished now? You could even record a video for yourself,” Bian Suwen said offhandedly as she walked.

Mu Nanzhi hesitated, then shook her head. “Let’s… not.”

She did want to see Shao Wanwan humiliated—but not at the cost of having to watch Bian Suwen’s boyfriend. That would be too disgusting.

In the room next door, Wang Haoran had already seen and heard everything through his X-ray vision. He lay still, expression frozen in disbelief.

So this was what they thought of him? Just a tool?

Shao Wanwan could still be excused, but Bian Suwen… what the hell was she thinking? Her actions made no sense.

Was it the result of that other Protagonist Fortuitous Encounter Experience Card?

Wang Haoran couldn’t help but wonder. After all, Bian Suwen was not the kind of woman who would go to such extremes. Even if she wanted revenge for her dear friend Mu Nanzhi, there were countless other ways to do it.

And yet… she chose this method.

Bizarre didn’t even begin to describe it.

Still, as strange as it was, this approach did seem surprisingly effective.

While his thoughts churned, Bian Suwen had already arrived, carrying the dazed and flushed Shao Wanwan in her arms.

Wang Haoran instantly shut his eyes and lay stiffly, pretending to be asleep. He dared not move a muscle.

This Protagonist Fortuitous Encounter Experience Card was a complete scam.

He had hoped for some thrilling opportunity—maybe falling off a cliff, narrowly escaping death, and then discovering some ancient immortal legacy. But based on how things were unfolding… all hope was gone.

This second card’s so-called fortuitous encounter felt nearly identical to the first one. If that was the case, why even bother calling it a different card?

Hell, was this even a fortuitous encounter?

Still, complaining wouldn’t help now.

The bowstring was drawn, the arrow notched.

Now came the real dilemma—should he fight back?

Or… just let things play out?
