I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?
Chapter 801: Several Tribes Are Very Anxious
"Since you’ve come to Dayu City, I absolutely won’t let you return empty-handed." Having traveled from thousands of miles away, even if it was just for a business deal, Ye Qianning wouldn’t shortchange these people.
Shui Xingqi wondered who she meant by "you." He thought of the representatives from the Wasteland and the Desert who had arrived together. Those fallen clans essentially had no commercial value or benefits to offer. He couldn’t figure out what her true intentions were.
"Boss Gu," a waiter said, walking into the room.
"What is it?"
"There are a few people downstairs asking for Miss Ye."
Gu Shuo glanced at Ye Qianning.
"It’s the clan members from the Wasteland, the Desert, and the Northwest," Ye Qianning explained. She stood up. "Young Master Shui, we have matters to attend to, so we’ll take our leave first."
Shui Xingqi also stood up. "Take care, Boss Gu, Miss Ye. I will definitely arrive at the Immortal Sea Building on time the day after tomorrow."
"See you then, Young Master Shui."
Gu Shuo led Ye Qianning out the door. Just as they reached the stairs, they bumped into the people from the Wasteland and the other clans.
"Miss Ye." The representatives of the Wasteland, the Desert, and the Northwest called out one after another, then obediently stood in a row.
"Mo Shi, what’s going on?" Ye Qianning noticed he was panting slightly, his forehead beaded with sweat. It seemed he had rushed over in a hurry.
"Miss Ye, we just saw Li Zhuang from the Barbarian Clan. We heard that Boss Gu has already signed a contract with him, so we wanted to come over and ask about our Wasteland’s situation."
"Boss Gu, Miss Ye, is there any hope for planting in the Northwest?"
"Miss Ye, you mentioned before that the Desert could be improved. Do you have a solution yet?"
The representatives from the Wasteland, the Northwest, and the Desert were all quite anxious. Who wouldn’t want to improve their clan’s livelihood? These clans had been practically abandoned by the rest of the world, left to fend for themselves in isolation. Suddenly, someone came along claiming they could change the status quo and open up trade routes. Trade—it was something these clans dreamed of achieving.
Gu Shuo didn’t know much about these clans, and his daughter hadn’t elaborated on them during the carriage ride. For a moment, he didn’t know how to answer.
"Mo Shi, Hu Clan Leader, Song Clan Chief, I haven’t thoroughly studied the soil samples you brought yet. Please don’t worry," Ye Qianning said. "Since you’re here, my father and I won’t let you leave disappointed." Everything had piled up over the past two days, leaving her a little overwhelmed.
"Please be patient, everyone. We will give you an answer in a few days," Gu Shuo chimed in.
"Alright. With Miss Ye and Boss Gu’s words, we feel much more at ease."
"When you have a result, Miss Ye, please notify us immediately."
"Miss Ye..."
The group had been feeling uncertain, but hearing this reassured them a bit. After all, Boss Gu wasn’t an ordinary merchant; he wouldn’t lie to them. He had spent ten years transforming Nanyuan, successfully growing fruit in its freezing climate. If he could change Nanyuan, he could surely change their clans as well.
After pacifying the various clans, Gu Shuo and Ye Qianning left the inn.
Inside the carriage, Ye Qianning shared her thoughts on the clans with Gu Shuo. She planned to thoroughly study the local soil before determining what to plant and extracting seeds for the seedlings. After that, she would need Gu Shuo to negotiate and sign contracts with them.
Gu Shuo thought back to the time Ye Qianning had sought him out to donate seeds to Nanyuan. In a flash, ten years had passed. Now, sitting beside him, she was asking him to donate seeds to other clans. She wanted to lead impoverished regions to wealth, unable to bear the sight of children being sold. With a cold exterior masking a warm heart, she sought to change the unfairness of the world, only hoping that the hearts of men would not chill hers in return.
Gu Shuo had long understood that with her breadth of mind, ambition, and intelligence, no one in the world could rival her. He was proud to have such a daughter.
