Chapter 247: Chapter 247: The Blood Moon’s Wrath

Squelch! Squelch! Squelch!

"AHHHHH!" Clara’s agonizing screams echoed across the ruined beach.

Louisa straddled Clara’s prone form, her S-Rank death-infused blade rising and falling in a maddened frenzy. SHUNK! SHUNK! SHUNK! Blood sprayed across the sand, painting it crimson. Clara’s Lunar Sovereign Form flickered weakly, her body desperately trying to heal the catastrophic damage, but every time her flesh began to knit together, Louisa pumped another surge of corrupting death energy directly into the wound.

"I know he cares about you a lot," Louisa whispered, her voice a venomous purr against Clara’s ear. "I wonder if he’ll break if I kill both of his pretty little girls?"

Clara’s regeneration was desperately trying to keep up, her pale skin stitching itself together, only for Louisa to flood her veins with corrosive death energy. The black corruption spread like a disease, rotting her flesh from the inside out.

Squelch! Squelch!

Over and over again. The silver glow in Clara’s eyes flickered and died. Her blood poured onto the sand, turning it into a dark, metallic sludge. Finally, with a weak, rattling breath, Clara’s body went limp. She lost consciousness, her face deathly pale.

"CLARA!"

A hundred meters away, Lucian lay in a smoking crater. He was a horrific sight.

His skin was charred black, cracked and peeling. Necrotic veins spiderwebbed across his chest and arms where the ocean of death energy had consumed him. He had only survived because, at the absolute last microsecond, he had forced his Devouring Void to open a vortex inside his own body, desperately consuming the corrupting energy before it could snuff out his core.

Guh... Hah...

Lucian coughed up a mouthful of black, coagulated blood. His Eternal Regeneration was working overtime, fueled by the very death energy he had devoured, slowly pushing the necrosis out of his system.

He pushed himself up on trembling arms, his vision blurry and red. He looked up, searching for Clara and Lena.

He saw her.

Her body, broken and bleeding on the sand. Louisa standing over her, a bloody sword in her hand. Lena, unconscious and bleeding in the dirt.

Ba-dump. Ba-dump. BA-DUMP!

His heart hammered against his ribs like a trapped beast. The Ancient Vampire Origin Bloodline, buried deep within his veins, reacted to the pure, unadulterated fury. His eyes, which were already crimson, suddenly bled into a terrifying, luminescent blood-red. The Predator Form he had been in shattered, not because it was dispelled, but because it was being overwritten by something far more ancient and far more furious.

Lucian didn’t see the notifications. He didn’t care.

CRRRRACK!

A sound like shattering glass echoed across the beach. A thick, viscous aura, darker than the void and redder than fresh blood, exploded outward from his body. The sand around him instantly melted into glass.

All he could see was Clara’s blood.

FWOOSH!

His matted, silver hair began to bleed from the roots, turning a deep, terrifying crimson. His nails elongated into jagged, blackened claws, and a pair of massive, bat-like wings made of condensed blood erupted from his back. His fangs elongated into monstrous sabers, and the crimson crown above his head shattered, reforming into a jagged halo of pure, solidified blood.

He looked less like a vampire and more like a demon god of slaughter.

ZIP!

Lucian vanished. He didn’t use Light Steps or Light Acceleration. He used a movement spell he had never used before—a spatial tear he subconsciously created through pure physical speed and light mana.

BOOOOOOM!

He appeared directly in front of Louisa. Before she could even react, he threw a punch wreathed in blue-white fire. The impact shattered the sound barrier, sending Louisa flying backward like a ragdoll, her S-Rank sword spinning through the air.

Seeing Louisa blasted away, the Vice Principal’s corpse puppet rushed at Lucian, a massive sphere of fire gathering in its hands.

Lucian didn’t even turn. He raised a hand, his eyes glowing with pure malice. Blood Domain.

A ten-meter sphere of pressurized blood erupted around him, trapping the Vice Principal inside. The puppet froze, its body locked down by the immense gravitational pressure.

Lucian turned, his blood-red eyes locking onto the puppet. "Devour."

HUM!

A massive vortex of black void energy erupted from his palm, completely engulfing the Vice Principal.

The Vice Principal, an Early Astral corpse, didn’t even have time to scream. Its death energy, its mana, its very physical form were violently ripped apart, sucked into the vortex and converted into raw power. Lucian didn’t stop there. He grabbed the puppet’s remaining torso with his bare hands and RIIIP. The corpse was torn in half, exploding into ash.

Behind him, the Head Instructor Garett’s golden avatar moved to attack. But the Dark Wyvern, sensing its master’s rage, lunged with unparalleled fury. CRUNCH! The wyvern’s jaws clamped down on the golden avatar’s right arm, tearing it off in a shower of golden light and rotting flesh.

Lucian ignored them, his blood-red eyes locked onto Louisa.

Louisa scrambled to her feet, wiping blood from her lips. Her eyes widened. "What... what are you?"

ZIP!

Lucian appeared above her, his Blood Reaver in its greatsword form, coated in a mixture of black void, blue fire, and dark Sword Intent. He swung down with the force of a meteor.

CLANG!

Louisa summoned her death energy to form a hasty shield, but the impact drove her knees into the sand.

"YOU HURT HER!" Lucian roared, his voice layered with a demonic echo. BAM! He kicked Louisa in the chest, sending her skidding backward. He followed up instantly. "Crescent Moon Slash!" SWISH! A wave of blood-red Sword Intent tore through the air. Louisa dodged to the side, but the slash cut a massive gash across her cheek.

She snarled, her own aura surging. "You insolent brat! I am your master!"

"DIE!" Lucian cast Blood Domain.

WHOOSH! A 20-meter sphere of pressurized blood trapped Louisa. He immediately followed it with Devour. Louisa gasped, feeling her mana and life force being ripped away. But she was an Early Astral Realm cultivator. She roared, her dark crown flaring as she forcefully shattered the Blood Domain with a massive burst of death energy.

"You think that’s enough?" Louisa spat, conjuring a massive spear of death energy and hurling it at him.

Lucian didn’t dodge. He raised his hand, a massive Sunfire Lotus blooming. BOOOOOM! The flaming lotus collided with the death spear, creating an apocalyptic explosion. The shockwaves tore the beach apart.

Through the smoke, Lucian with a burst of blinding speed of light, he appeared behind Louisa. He fired a point-blank Inferno Spirit Cannon. FWOOSH! The beam of condensed fire spirits slammed into Louisa’s back, burning through her death armor and sending her crashing into a massive boulder.

CRASH!

Louisa coughed up blood, her eyes wide with terror. He’s a monster! He’s only Peak Grand Core, but his attacks are bypassing my Astral defenses!

Lucian walked toward her, the Blood Reaver dragging along the sand, creating a trail of fire. He was a walking apocalypse.

But before he could deliver the final blow, the sky suddenly split open.

FLASH!

A blinding pillar of white light descended from the heavens, slamming into the battlefield. The sheer force of the light created a shockwave that pushed the Dark Wyvern and the unconscious Lena away still in its grasp from Clara’s body, tumbling them across the sand.

A figure landed softly beside Clara.

Lucian paused, his blood-red eyes snapping toward the light.

A woman stepped out of the pillar. She was breathtakingly beautiful. She had long, flowing purple hair and a glowing crescent moon symbol on her forehead. She wore elegant, flowing robes of pure white and silver, radiating an aura so majestic and holy that it made the corrupt death energy in the air recoil.

She landed softly beside Clara’s broken body. She looked down at the dying girl as she raised her hand, and a soothing, gentle healing light covered Clara, immediately halting the death energy’s spread and stabilizing her pulse.

In his berserk state, Lucian’s mind could only process one thing: Something touching his girl.

"GET AWAY FROM HER!" Lucian roared, his wings flaring. He rushed forward, the Blood Reaver aimed at the woman’s head.

The woman didn’t even look up. She casually swept her hand to the side.

WHOOOOSH!

A massive, unblockable wave of absolute cold and spatial force slammed into Lucian. CRACK! His body was instantly frozen solid. He was sent flying backward, crashing into the ocean. Massive ice spikes erupted from the water, impaling him through the shoulders and legs, locking him in place.

The woman finally turned her head, looking at the frozen, raging Lucian with a look of mild curiosity.

"Such a barbaric planet," the woman murmured, her voice like silver bells, cold and detached. "And with such suffocatingly low mana. I wonder how the daughter of the moon... , the Princess of the Lunar Sect, managed to endure living in such a filthy, backward world for so long..."

She looked back down at Clara, gently brushing the blood-matted silver hair from her face.
