The elevator finally reached the seventy-first floor. With a soft ding, its doors slid open, revealing a quiet hallway.

Mo Yuan followed Louis out of the elevator. They walked through the hallway and soon arrived at another door. Louis opened it, allowing Mo Yuan to enter first.

The moment Mo Yuan stepped inside, he noticed that the entire floor was unusually empty. There were no tables, chairs or other decorations. The only thing in the spacious room was a large object covered by a thick cloth.

Mo Yuan’s eyes narrowed slightly.

The moment he saw it, he activated his Copy and Paste Talent and scanned the area.

A panel appeared before his eyes.

Mo Yuan’s eyes widened for a brief moment.

’So it really has a Space-type Talent and judging from its name, it seems to be an offensive ability.’

He had already obtained several powerful offensive talents, so another attack talent wasn’t something he desperately needed.

However, a talent related to space was still worth having. Space-related abilities were rare and even a Superior Grade talent could possess terrifying power if used correctly.

’My strength is already ridiculous but having another powerful attack is never a bad thing. Let’s see what this beast looks like and what its Space Cleave can do.’

He dismissed the prompt and turned his attention toward the covered cage.

Louis had been watching him. Seeing Mo Yuan’s interest, he smiled and said, "The beast is inside that cage. Unfortunately, I can’t remove the cover. Whenever it sees another human, it becomes extremely aggressive. Even with my control over it, I don’t want to risk another incident."

He paused before adding, "You can use your Origin Sense to take a look inside."

"Of course, Senior."

Mo Yuan nodded and released his Origin Sense.

His spiritual perception spread through the room and passed through the small openings in the cage. In the next moment, the beast hidden beneath the cloth appeared clearly in his perception.

It was a two-headed wolf, roughly two metres long. Its body was covered in thick, shiny white fur and its appearance somewhat resembled a husky from his previous life.

A few dark markings could be seen across its otherwise white body, giving it a unique appearance.

Both heads were resting on its front paws and its eyes were closed. From its posture, it seemed to be sleeping peacefully.

However, Mo Yuan could clearly sense the powerful aura coming from its body.

Even while sleeping, the beast’s aura was far stronger than that of ordinary beasts. Moreover, the cage surrounding it was completely enclosed, with only a few tiny holes allowing air to pass through. Clearly, Louis had taken extensive precautions to keep it contained.

After observing the beast for a while, Mo Yuan withdrew his Origin Sense.

Louis smiled when he noticed this.

"Looks harmless and peaceful, doesn’t it?"

Mo Yuan nodded.

"Yes, Senior. It looks like a harmless pet. The only unusual thing about it is that it has two heads."

Louis chuckled at his response but his expression soon became serious.

"Don’t let its appearance fool you. It is a Late Stage Peak Realm beast and it possesses a Space-type Talent. Those two things alone make it extremely dangerous."

"May I ask what its Space Talent does, Senior?"

Mo Yuan asked with a curious expression.

He already knew the name and grade of the talent but he couldn’t reveal that information.

If he showed too much knowledge about the beast before Louis explained anything, the old man might become suspicious.

Louis rubbed his chin for a moment before answering.

"To be honest, I don’t fully understand it myself. This beast appeared in the Frostwind Wilderness some time ago. I was fortunate enough to encounter it and managed to capture it after a difficult fight. Since then, I’ve been studying its abilities."

He glanced toward the covered cage.

"From what I’ve observed, its attack can kill almost anyone below the Monarch Realm with a single strike. No matter how strong their body is or how powerful their defensive abilities are, surviving a direct hit is nearly impossible."

Mo Yuan’s expression changed slightly.

’Anyone below the Monarch Realm?’

Although he had expected the Space Cleave Talent to be powerful, he hadn’t expected Louis to describe it in such terrifying terms.

Louis continued, his voice growing more serious.

"It’s similar to a blade that cuts through space itself. The attack doesn’t simply strike the enemy’s body. It splits the space in its path, cutting through almost everything caught within its range. Ordinary defensive techniques are practically useless against it."

He shook his head.

"I haven’t decided on an official name for the ability yet. As far as we know, this is the first beast we’ve encountered with such a talent. Even our association’s researchers haven’t been able to determine its exact nature."

After a short pause, he added, "Of course, it isn’t invincible. Its attack has one major weakness. It isn’t particularly fast. If the target notices it in time, dodging is possible. That’s why you must be careful when fighting it. A powerful attack means nothing if it can’t hit its enemy."

Mo Yuan nodded thoughtfully.

He understood what Louis meant. The attack possessed terrifying destructive power but its speed limited its effectiveness against opponents who could react quickly enough.

However, Mo Yuan couldn’t help feeling that the ability was almost tailor-made for him.

’If I combine this with my Shadow Walk and the Shadow Realm, I can attack enemies from unexpected angles. They might not even realize an attack is coming until it’s too late.’

He could already imagine how terrifying such a combination would be. His Shadow Walk allowed him to move through the deeper layer of the Shadow Realm, making it difficult for even powerful cultivators to detect him.

If he could use Space Cleave while remaining hidden, he would gain another way to kill enemies before they could react.

’This is definitely worth keeping.’

Louis continued speaking, unaware of Mo Yuan’s thoughts.

"I haven’t confirmed its exact talent grade either but I believe it should be Superior Grade. Its Speed Talent is also Superior Grade, which helps compensate for some of its weaknesses."

Mo Yuan nodded without correcting him.

A faint smile appeared on his face, though he quickly concealed it.

Louis sighed and said, "Unfortunately, I can’t show you the beast directly. This is the most I can do for now. I hope you don’t mind."

"Not at all, Senior. You’ve already shown me great hospitality. Being able to see such a rare beast is more than enough."

Mo Yuan spoke politely. He had already obtained the talent he wanted, so there was no reason to push Louis any further.

Seeing that Mo Yuan wasn’t disappointed, Louis smiled with satisfaction.

"Good. Then let’s stop standing around here. Come with me. We’ll find somewhere to eat."

He turned toward the door and continued, "Since this is your first visit to a base with such a diverse population, you might find the food here interesting. Frostwind Base has dishes from many different regions and some of them are quite famous."

Mo Yuan’s interest was immediately piqued.

"Then I’ll have to try them, Senior."

The two left the room and returned to the elevator. Louis pressed the button for the ground floor and the doors closed behind them.

As the elevator began descending, Mo Yuan glanced at the talent prompt still waiting in his mind.

He had come to Frostwind Base hoping to obtain a few useful talents. He hadn’t expected to find something capable of cutting through space itself.
