Mo Yuan had only been traveling for a short while when he suddenly noticed a base in the distance.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

In the next instant, his speed increased and within a second, he was already close to the base.

Looking down from the sky, Mo Yuan saw a massive horde of beasts surrounding the base.

Its body was around 240 meters long and its countless legs moved rapidly as it charged toward the base.

The moment the Blood Saber Intent was activated, Mo Yuan’s blonde hair instantly turned red and his eyes became blood-red.

A terrifying red aura surrounded his body and his saber was covered in a thick red hue.

He looked down at the centipede beast.

"Boundless Saber Art."

Boom!

A red streak of light flashed through the sky.

The speed was so fast that the centipede beast did not even have time to react.

The red saber light passed directly through its enormous body and its body was instantly chopped into two.

Boom!

The saber light continued downward and struck the ground.

A huge crater appeared below.

The shockwave spread in every direction, killing the beasts within a three-kilometer radius.

Countless beasts were torn apart instantly, while many others were seriously injured and thrown away by the powerful impact.

At the same time, Mo Yuan’s body began falling from the sky.

He still could not fly.

Although his speed was terrifying, he could only remain in the air for a limited amount of time after jumping.

The soldiers and cultivators behind him were equally stunned.

Nobody had expected someone to suddenly appear from the sky and kill the Peak Realm beast in a single attack.

One of the soldiers could not help asking,

"Are we saved?"

For a moment, nobody answered.

Then someone shouted.

"We are saved!"

"Yahoo!"

"We are saved!"

"It’s a Sovereign Realm cultivator!"

The entire battlefield erupted into cheers and the soldiers who had been prepared to fight to the death suddenly felt hope again.

Meanwhile, Mo Yuan did not pay much attention to their cheers.

He looked at the corpse of the centipede beast.

’This should be a Peak Realm beast.’

He immediately stored its corpse inside his storage space and then he looked toward the remaining beast tide.

’Compared to Lin Jian Base, this is much smaller.’

Mo Yuan did not waste any time.

His figure disappeared and the next moment, he appeared in the middle of the beast tide.

A red saber light flashed.

A group of beasts fell.

Mo Yuan disappeared again.

Another location.

Another group of beasts died.

His speed was simply too fast for the beasts to react.

Everywhere Mo Yuan appeared, death followed.

At the same time, the Blood Saber Intent surrounding his body continuously absorbed the blood released by the dead beasts.

Streams of red blood gathered around him before being swallowed by the Blood Saber Intent.

The beasts began to panic and some tried to escape but it was already too late.

Five minutes later, the entire battlefield became silent.

Mo Yuan looked around once before storing the valuable beast corpses.

He did not stay any longer.

He had already saved Bai He Base and there was no reason to waste more time here.

Mo Yuan bent his knees.

His muscles tightened.

"Strength Talent!"

Boom!

Power erupted from his body.

He jumped into the sky.

After adjusting his direction toward Dong Hai Base, Mo Yuan took a deep breath.

"Speed Talent!"

Boom!

A terrifying sonic boom exploded across the wilderness.

His body turned into a streak of light and disappeared toward the distant horizon.

Behind him, the people of Bai He Base could only stare at the disappearing figure.

One second later, Mo Yuan could already see Dong Hai Base in the distance but something felt wrong.

The closer he got, the quieter the base became.

There were no soldiers standing on the walls and no Beast Tide.

Even from this distance, Mo Yuan could see that the outer walls of Dong Hai Base had been heavily damaged. Large sections had collapsed and smoke still rose from several places.

Mo Yuan’s expression changed, he immediately increased his speed.

A few seconds later, he landed inside Dong Hai Base.

The moment his feet touched the ground, his heart sank.

The entire base was empty and there were no people.

Buildings had collapsed, streets were covered in cracks and blood could be seen everywhere.

Mo Yuan stood there silently.

His eyes slowly moved across the ruined streets.

"Where is everyone?"

His voice was low.

Then he understood.

"The beast tide reached much faster than I expected."

His hands slowly clenched into fists and a wave of anger rose inside his chest.

The Blood Saber Intent surrounding his body also began to churn violently but Mo Yuan did not immediately leave.

Instead, he took a deep breath and spread out his Origin Sense.

’Maybe they escaped.’

’Maybe they are still alive.’

He did not want to believe otherwise.

Mo Yuan moved through the ruined base at incredible speed, searching every street and every destroyed building.

He searched the residential areas.

Nothing.

He searched the Martial Hall.

Nothing.

He searched the Academy where he had once studied.

Nothing.

The Academy that had once been filled with young cultivators was now completely deserted.

He searched everywhere.

Still nothing.

Even Mu Jin, the person who had helped guide him to Cang Lan Base, was nowhere to be found.

Mo Yuan’s Origin Sense continued spreading but there were no familiar auras.

Eventually, Mo Yuan returned to the villa where he had once lived.

He stood inside the familiar room.

For the first time since coming to this world, Mo Yuan truly understood what it meant to lose someone.

Before his transmigration, Mo Yuan had been an antisocial person.

He did not have many friends and he had never been the type of person who cared deeply about other people but in this world, things had slowly changed.

Black Fang Team was different, they were the closest thing he had to friends.

They had not known each other for very long and they had only met a few times but Mo Yuan had enjoyed their company.

Mo Yuan slowly sat down.

His head lowered.

"If only I were stronger..."

His voice trembled slightly.

His fingers tightened until his nails almost dug into his palms.

"If I had been stronger..."

He could not finish the sentence.

He had saved Lin Jian Base and Bai He Base but he had failed to save the people he actually cared about.

That realization hurt more than he expected.

The Blood Saber Intent around his body suddenly erupted and blood-red energy began churning violently around him.

After Killing allot of Beasts his Blood Saber Intent multiplier has increased from 1.5 x to 2x.

Mo Yuan’s eyes became blood-red. Blood Saber Intent covered his entire body, making his face almost impossible to see.

For a moment, his mind was filled with anger.

He wanted to kill.

He wanted to destroy every beast on this planet. His emotions were almost completely swallowed by his Blood Saber Intent.

Then Mo Yuan suddenly woke up.

"Shit..."

He took a deep breath.

"I almost lost control."

The Blood Saber Intent slowly became calm again.

Mo Yuan sat there for another five minutes.

He closed his eyes and slowly calmed his mind. After his emotions finally settled down, he took out the map given to him by Cang Lan Base.

His eyes moved across the nearby bases.

Then Mo Yuan looked toward the ruined Dong Hai Base.

"I’m sorry, guys."

His voice was quiet.

"I couldn’t save you."

His hand slowly tightened around the map.

"But I will take revenge for you."

His eyes became cold.

"I will become stronger."

"One day, I will wipe out every beast on this planet."

Mo Yuan stood up.

He looked at the destroyed city one last time.

Then he bent his knees.

"Strength Talent."

Boom!

Power erupted from his body.

"Defense Talent."

Another surge of energy spread through his body.

Mo Yuan looked toward the distant wilderness.

"Let’s begin."

The next moment, he jumped into the sky.

Boom!

His figure turned into a streak of light and disappeared toward the next base.

A/N- Author here guys, trust me it was very hard to write this Chapter for a newbie like me. It took me almost an hour and half before I decided it was good enough to post it. I wanted to show the emotional aspect and some character development for Mo Yuan.
