I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate

Chapter 762: The Sun God's Ambush

The final highlight, the Dimension Ring, fetched an even higher price because it was a Tier Nine Divine Artifact and was incredibly valuable in its own right.

In the end, the Holy Race gritted their teeth and secured it. The final price was enough to buy fifteen Tier Nine Divine Artifacts!

‘I’ve struck it rich!’

Su Ze was ecstatic. At this price, after buying the Giant Spatial Artifact and the Tier Nine Dark Blood Giant Beast, he estimated he’d still have a considerable amount of savings left over!

However, selling the items was one thing; getting the money safely in hand was another matter entirely.

Auctioning such sensitive treasures at this time was bound to attract attention.

As the public-facing owner of the two bloodline treasures, Dou Yi’s identity was known only to the Alliance Commerce Association and the official witness from the Public Star Realm.

But since the witness knew, the Spirit Race surely knew as well. It was impossible to tell whether the information would be leaked from within the Spirit Race.

Similarly, there was no guarantee that there wouldn’t be leaks from within the Alliance Commerce Association.

At the very least, the Holy Race would be exceptionally interested in the owner of the two bloodline treasures. They would speculate about their origin and wonder if he possessed any more.

They might even take some sort of action.

Su Ze knew that this matter would only be over once the money was in his pocket, he had made a clean getaway, and his safety was guaranteed.

The moment the Dimension Ring was sold, Su Ze stopped paying attention to the final auction item and headed straight for the auction house.

Back at the auction, Dou Yi also made his move, heading backstage to collect the payment.

Many Alliance Commerce Association staff members were bustling about backstage. A manager from the association came forward to greet him.

The official witness approached as well. It was his duty to oversee the entire process and ensure both parties fulfilled the contract.

“When can I get my money?” Dou Yi asked, getting straight to the point.

The Alliance Commerce Association manager smiled. “Please wait just a moment. As soon as the auction is over and the payment arrives in our account, I will transfer the funds to you immediately.”

“We have also prepared the Giant Spatial Artifact for you.”

Dou Yi nodded and waited backstage for a little longer. The final item was successfully sold, and the auction came to a close.

Some people rose to leave, while others headed backstage to pay for and collect their winnings.

Dou Yi went ahead into a tea room backstage. A moment later, the Alliance Commerce Association manager and the witness entered together.

“According to the contract, your two items sold for a total of… after deducting the commission fee, that leaves… and then subtracting the price of one Giant Spatial Artifact…”

The Alliance Commerce Association manager went over the accounts with Dou Yi. After checking the figures and finding no issues, Dou Yi nodded, and they settled the payment on the spot.

Dou Yi received a Giant Spatial Artifact and a sum of money. This Giant Spatial Artifact was unlike ordinary ones, which were usually small and exquisite items like a ring or a bracelet.

The Giant Spatial Artifact, however, was quite large itself. The one Dou Yi received was a large, smooth sphere over a meter in diameter, but it had no luster.

The space contained within it was immeasurably vast, capable of holding an entire solar system.

However, the space inside was a complete vacuum, containing no air or matter whatsoever.

Fortunately, despite its large size, the Giant Spatial Artifact could be stored inside other spatial artifacts.

Otherwise, carrying such a huge object around would be far too conspicuous.

To buy this Giant Spatial Artifact and the Tier Nine Dark Blood Giant Beast, Su Ze had nearly emptied his savings. Fortunately, the two bloodline treasures had sold for a good price, leaving him with a decent nest egg.

With the goods and money exchanged, the witness produced a document for Dou Yi to sign, confirming that the transaction was complete. With that, his task was also finished.

Dou Yi signed it readily—using a false name, of course—then rose to take his leave.

He was now in possession of a Giant Spatial Artifact, a living Tier Nine Dark Blood Giant Beast, and a vast fortune. He had to complete the handover to Su Ze as quickly as possible.

Outside the auction house, the streets were bustling with people. The auction had just ended, and many were still lingering on Treasure Competition Star. After all, leaving via the Teleportation Array required queuing, and it couldn’t possibly transport so many people at once.

Dou Yi moved through the crowd. His Moon God-level strength was unremarkable, so no one paid him much mind.

However, Dou Yi couldn’t be sure if anyone was watching him from the shadows, but he couldn’t afford to worry about that now.

One thing was certain: no one would dare to attack him openly. Doing so would mean blatantly breaking the rules of the Spirit Race Public Star Realm and provoking the Spirit Race.

Anyone who dared would be guaranteed never to leave Spirit Race territory.

Even the Spirit Race themselves would not violate their own rules. The repercussions of them breaking their own laws would be far worse than if an outsider did it. If word got out, no one would ever dare to do business in the Spirit Race Public Star Realm again.

Of course, this all assumed everything was happening out in the open. If something were to happen in a secluded place with no witnesses, it would be a different story entirely.

Therefore, the bustling crowds on the street were, for Dou Yi, the safest form of protection.

Su Ze understood this as well, which was why he planned to complete the handover with Dou Yi right here.

He and Dou Yi brushed past each other, completing the handover in an instant.

A small Space Ring passed from Dou Yi’s hand into Su Ze’s.

The exchange wasn’t particularly sophisticated; anyone paying close attention would surely have noticed. But there was no better way.

Meeting in a deserted location would have been even more dangerous.

Once the exchange was complete, Su Ze and Dou Yi went their separate ways. They headed in different directions to take separate Teleportation Array batches off Treasure Competition Star.
