I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate

Chapter 758: Ancestral God of the Hui Race

  • Next Chapter

Dou Yi glanced at him and said, word by word, “The Dou Race. The bloodline of the Daman Ancestral God.”

At his words, both the business manager and the Treasure Appraiser froze. The witnessing officer at their side also felt his eyelid twitch.

News of the Holy Race’s attack on the Dou Race, which resulted in the deaths of both their Clan Leader and the Daman Ancestral God, had long since spread across the entire universe.

And so, they all understood the true purpose and value of this Bloodline Divine Artifact.

The business manager and the Treasure Appraiser exchanged a look. This matter was far beyond their authority to handle. ‘It has to be reported!’

The Treasure Appraiser excused himself. The moment he was out the door, he contacted the upper echelons of the Alliance Commerce Association.

A moment later, a beam of light descended from the sky, landing on the planet the Alliance Commerce Association had leased. It ignored the building’s roof, shining directly into the reception hall of the association’s headquarters.

The light eventually coalesced into the form of a flower—a serene and elegant-looking white blossom.

A top-tier Strong Race—the Hui Race!

Dou Yi recognized the flower’s origin. It was a member of the Hui Race, a plant-based intelligent species. The Hundred-Change Flower was, in fact, cultivated using genes from the Hui Race.

“Greetings, Mr. Hua!” the business manager said, bowing hurriedly. He was both shocked and relieved.

He was shocked that the higher-ups placed such importance on this Tier Nine Divine Artifact, enough to have the Ancestral God, Mr. Hua, personally cast a projection to handle the matter.

And he was relieved that his arrogance hadn’t driven the guest away; otherwise, he would have made a terrible mistake.

Mr. Hua’s flower-like visage turned toward Dou Yi. “Are you certain this is Daman’s Bloodline Divine Artifact?” he asked.

Dou Yi wasted no words. He finally produced the drop of Ancestral God’s blood and said with calm confidence, “You should have a way to verify it.”

Seeing Dou Yi produce yet another drop of an Ancestral God’s blood, the eyelids of both the witnessing officer and the business manager twitched. ‘You have more?’

Mr. Hua, the projection of the Hui Race Ancestral God, raised a petal-like appendage and shot out a beam of light. The light entered the drop of blood. He closed his eyes to sense it for a moment, then said, “It appears to be authentic.”

Then, Mr. Hua said to the business manager, “You may leave us.”

The business manager knew the subsequent discussion was not for someone of his rank to hear, so he slipped out of the room dejectedly.

The witnessing officer, due to his special status, was not asked to leave. However, he didn’t dare say a word and simply continued taking notes quietly off to the side.

Mr. Hua got straight to the point. “The Alliance Commerce Association is willing to purchase this Tier Nine Divine Artifact and the drop of Ancestral God’s blood. Name your price.”

“My apologies, but I wish to sell these two items via auction,” Dou Yi replied, declining the offer.

It took courage to refuse an Ancestral God to his face. However, ever since being parasitized by Su Ze, Dou Yi’s sole allegiance was to him. No one could ever overcome his loyalty to Su Ze.

Mr. Hua glanced at the witnessing officer and didn’t bring up a direct purchase again. He knew that no matter what price he offered, Dou Yi wouldn’t sell.

Not unless the price was absurdly high, and Mr. Hua was unwilling to offer that much.

The Alliance Commerce Association was backed by the Cosmic Alliance, a coalition formed by many top-tier races. Its purpose was to resist the Dominator Races and avoid being devoured by them.

But for now, their goal was merely self-preservation; they weren’t yet strong enough to launch a counterattack against the Dominator Races.

Therefore, they were reluctant to proactively provoke a Dominator Race. If they bought these two bloodline treasures to track down the Dou Race, it would be an open provocation of the Holy Race.

Furthermore, in a coalition like the Cosmic Alliance, achieving consensus was the most difficult task. There were always dissenting voices within.

That was why Mr. Hua was unwilling to pay an exorbitant price for these two bloodline treasures.

However, auctioning the items on his behalf was perfectly acceptable!

By handling the auction, they could collect a commission based on a percentage of the final price—a guaranteed, risk-free profit.

Auctions typically needed a headline item to draw in clients, and these two bloodline treasures were more than enough to attract a large crowd.

In fact, with these two items headlining the event, the auction’s success was already guaranteed.

Even if the Alliance Commerce Association didn’t profit from the sale of these two treasures, they would still make plenty of money from the other lots.

Thus, with these two treasures in hand, Dou Yi would be treated as a guest of honor by any commerce association he approached to host the auction.

Ultimately, after some discussion, Dou Yi and the Alliance Commerce Association finalized the details of their collaboration.

The Alliance Commerce Association would be responsible for organizing and promoting the event, which would be held on a planet in the Public Star Realm dedicated to auctions.

The venue rental fees would also be covered by the Alliance Commerce Association.

Upon the sale of the two bloodline treasures, the Alliance Commerce Association would collect a 3% commission.

Initially, the Alliance Commerce Association wanted Dou Yi to hand over one of the bloodline treasures as collateral. After all, they feared he might disappear after they had already publicized the event.

But Dou Yi simply stated that he would stay with the Alliance Commerce Association and go nowhere until the auction began.

Since Dou Yi had said so, the Alliance Commerce Association did not insist.

The two parties then signed the contract under the watch of the witnessing officer. Afterward, the Spirit Race authorities would continue to monitor the situation’s progress to ensure both sides fulfilled their obligations.

Furthermore, the witnessing officer would accompany Dou Yi at all times.

Outside of the contract, the Alliance Commerce Association also made a concession on the price of the Tier Nine Dark Blood Giant Beast. They allowed Dou Yi to purchase it for the price of an ordinary Tier Nine exotic beast.

They also promised to sell him a Giant Spatial Artifact at a significant discount.

However, the transaction for the Giant Spatial Artifact would have to wait until after the auction.

The Dark Blood Giant Beast, on the other hand, was traded to him immediately. The mountain-sized beast, sealed within a spatial artifact, was placed in Dou Yi’s hands.
