Chapter 745: Chapter 398: Ownerless Super Star

He was confident that he could perfect the research on chlorophyll within five hundred years.

He was inclined to trust Su Ze’s word. After all, Su Ze had promised the mother tree he would save him, and he had kept that promise.

Besides, he would naturally take other precautions as a safety net.

“Alright, I promise. In five hundred years, I’ll remove the parasite and grant you your freedom!”

Su Ze agreed without a second thought.

Someone was offering to work for him for free for five hundred years. He had no reason to refuse.

‘As for what will happen in five hundred years? Who knows?’

‘I’ll deal with what happens in five hundred years… in five hundred years.’

It hadn’t even been five years since he’d transmigrated here. Who knew what changes five hundred years could bring?

‘If I’m not dead in five hundred years, I’ll definitely be a powerhouse in the universe by then.’

‘The Human Race’s situation certainly won’t be as difficult as it is now, so what if I grant Mage his freedom back?’

‘I can let Mage take the chlorophyll research back to the Tree Spirit Race without any worries. By then, the Tree Spirit Race probably won’t even be as strong as the Human Race. They wouldn’t dare offend us, let alone leak our secrets.’

‘And the Human Race certainly won’t be confined to a single, tiny Zexing.’

‘What? You think the Human Race might be weaker than the Tree Spirit Race in five hundred years?’

‘Then I, Su Ze, might as well be dead!’

Everything hinged on the assumption that Su Ze would still be alive in five hundred years.

He was confident that as long as he was alive, given his growth rate, five hundred years was more than enough time for the Human Race to establish a firm foothold in the universe.

‘And if I die before then? Well, after I’m gone, who cares if the sky falls?’

“I have one last request,” Mage said. “I wish to return to my people to see them.”

“Of course.” Su Ze wouldn’t refuse such a request, but his tone shifted. “However, it would be best if you returned *after* you’ve been implanted with the parasite. What do you think?”

‘What if Mage returns to the Tree Spirit Race and does something to harm the Human Race?’

‘For instance, what if he reports intelligence on us to his people? Or prepares countermeasures for the parasite? Or leads the Tree Spirit Race’s Ancestral God straight to us…’

But once the parasite was in place, there would be no need to worry about any of that.

Mage hesitated for a moment before nodding. “I want to leave my research on the Hundred-Change Flower with my people. Please don’t stop me.”

“Of course. The Hundred-Change Flower is your research, and I have no right to stop you. Here are a few seeds, along with some cultivation notes our Human Race has compiled. You can take them back with you.”

Su Ze handed the seeds and a book of cultivation notes to Mage.

This gesture dispelled the last trace of doubt in Mage’s mind, and he finally made his decision.

The Hundred-Change Flower would undoubtedly elevate the Tree Spirit Race’s power. However, Su Ze didn’t mind letting this Weak Race grow a little stronger. The Tree Spirit Race and the Human Race were not in competition. In fact, thanks to Mage, the two races might even become allies in the future.

By now, the battle outside the ship had ended. Mr. Ya and the others returned with their spoils of war and captives.

They brought the captives before Su Ze. Whenever they encountered uncommon races, they made sure to capture a few alive for Su Ze to plunder.

Su Ze used his Evolutionary Sense to pick out two of them. The others didn’t possess many of the Origin Genes he lacked, so he let Mr. Ya and his team absorb them instead.

Throughout their journey, even when they had captured powerful Moon Gods alive, Su Ze hadn’t implanted a single new parasite. He simply plundered and absorbed them directly.

‘Improving my own strength is what’s most important.’

As for the Moon Gods who didn’t have the Origin Genes he needed, they were usually from common, weaker races—like the Bag Race. Their combat power was pathetic, and Su Ze had no use for them.

So he never bothered implanting parasites in them, letting Lin Hua and Mr. Ya kill and absorb them instead.

As a result, the strength of the entire Starry Sky Guard Team increased at a rapid pace.

However, they were still a long way from evolving into Moon Gods. Evolution after godhood required a great deal of time and refinement. But the combination of chlorophyll and Super Star Energy showed Su Ze a possible shortcut.

After plundering the two captives, Su Ze took Mage back to his personal quarters.

He said, “Our original destination for this trip was your Tree Spirit homeworld anyway. We’ll drop you off nearby, then we’re heading to the Spirit Race Public Star Realm to take care of some things. Once you’re finished with your business at home, you can find us there.”

Mage nodded. “The Super Star Energy you were using for your experiments… it looked like it was pre-collected and purchased. For the chlorophyll research, and for putting it into practical use later, you’ll need massive amounts of Super Star Energy. You need a Super Star!”

Su Ze gave a wry smile. “Of course, I know that. But where am I supposed to find…”

“I know where there’s a Super Star,” Mage said, his calm tone delivering a shocking statement.

“You mean… an unclaimed Super Star?” he asked, hardly daring to believe it.

“Yes. At least, it was unclaimed when I discovered it over three hundred years ago. I can’t be sure about its status now, but we can go take a look.”

“As you know, I like to wander all over the universe. I’m drawn to remote, sparsely populated places. Over three hundred years ago, I discovered a Super Star in an extremely desolate region of space. The Super Star Energy in my ship’s Lighting Room was collected from there.”

“The area is completely desolate; it’s rare for anyone to pass through. So, the chances of that Super Star having been discovered and claimed by someone else are slim.”

Su Ze’s heart pounded with excitement. He never expected such a windfall.
