I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 721 - 391: I’ll Be Obedient
After this round of skill fusion, the number of Su Ze’s skills decreased by another three, leaving him with only eleven.
Of those, only four still needed to be upgraded.
They were Rhino Charge, Knowledge is Power, Instant Simulation, and Sponge Body.
These four skills lacked a clear path for fusion with each other. Even if he broke them down, he couldn’t think of a reliable fusion plan.
Therefore, he could only rely on luck later to find suitable upgrade materials.
Su Ze’s goal was now clear: upgrade these four skills to Tier 8, plunder a Tier 9 skill, and then he could undergo his ninth evolution.
The skill fusion process had gone smoothly so far. He had successfully pared down his abilities from over twenty at their peak to just eleven now—an impressive feat of reduction.
But Su Ze felt like something was missing. The skills that had been leveled up through fusion all seemed too bloated.
It was as if the effects of many different skills had just been cobbled together, creating a hodgepodge of an ability.
This was evident from the skill descriptions alone. If he tried to summarize the effects of a skill that had undergone multiple fusions, he would have to write a long string of text. If he were to describe each effect in detail, he could probably write a whole instruction manual.
All his skills were like scraps of fabric, stitched together through fusion, but lacking a true, seamless integration.
’There needs to be a complete synthesis,’ Su Ze thought, but that was obviously going to be extremely difficult.
Trying to stitch mismatched scraps of fabric into a coordinated-looking garment couldn’t be done with the scraps alone; it required other materials and tools for matching and adjustment.
It seemed he didn’t have the means to do this yet. However, once he achieved it, it would likely result in a qualitative leap and breakthrough in his skills’ levels and power.
With the Evolutionary Material digested and the skill fusions complete, Su Ze’s strength had plateaued for the time being. He decided it was time to try using Blood and Flesh Parasite on the four Dou Race Moon Gods.
When he captured the four Dou Race Moon Gods, he had severely injured and imprisoned them.
Before entering seclusion, he had moved the four of them to a cell in his underground base. Within this Dream Space, Su Ze, its master, was an absolute god. The four of them were powerless to cause any trouble here.
Among the four, the one in the worst state had only half a head left. Su Ze hadn’t treated any of them, because the success rate of parasitism was higher on a weakened target.
A Moon God’s life force was powerful; even with only half a head, they wouldn’t die. In fact, given how long Su Ze had been in seclusion, they should have healed on their own by now.
However, Su Ze had specifically instructed Die to use its dream power to suppress their self-healing abilities.
So, these guys still looked the same as when Su Ze had first captured them—all missing arms or legs, a truly miserable sight.
With a single thought, Su Ze teleported one of the four—a male Dou Race member with only the upper half of his body remaining—in front of him.
At the same time, Su Ze called for the Pope to come and demonstrate the Blood and Flesh Parasite skill. Otherwise, Su Ze wouldn’t be able to simulate it.
The moment the half-bodied Dou Race member saw Su Ze, fury blazed in his eyes. He looked like he wanted to swallow Su Ze whole.
"Locked up for so long and still not behaving. You Dou Race really are as stubborn as mules."
Su Ze had a feeling this parasitism wouldn’t be easy. The Dou Race were notoriously irritable and aggressive. To control a Moon God with a Tier 7 Blood and Flesh Parasite, he needed the target’s cooperation.
Otherwise, the failure rate would be extremely high.
He immediately gave the Dou Race member a course of "acupuncture" with his Shadowless Needle, but the guy was a tough nut to crack.
"If you have the balls, then kill me! Don’t fucking expect me to beg for mercy!"
"Fine. I admire your backbone," Su Ze sneered. "Release Die!"
A moment later, Die arrived with the Pope.
When the Pope heard that Su Ze was going to have Die torture the Dou Race Moon God with its dream abilities, his gaze toward the captive held a trace of pity. He advised,
"Master, this is going too far!"
"Who told them to be so ungrateful? What? You have a better idea?"
"Well... you could have the other three watch him being tortured. I believe they will be much more cooperative after observing."
Su Ze mulled it over for a moment and nodded. "That’s a good idea."
He immediately transferred the other three Dou Race Moon Gods over. Their conditions were even more wretched.
One had been reduced to a living torso, another was just a head, and the last and most wretched of them was only half a head.
The moment the three appeared, they all started cursing Su Ze out loud. Even the one who wasn’t a whole head was hurling insults at Su Ze via voice transmission.
Su Ze waved his hand, and a transparent Energy Shield materialized, cutting off the three’s voices. It trapped them in the same space as the Dou Race Moon God who was about to be tortured. The world instantly fell silent.
"Die, you may begin," Su Ze ordered.
Die flapped its wings and began its specialty: dream torture.
The eyes of the first Dou Race Moon God—the one with only half a body—immediately lost focus as he was dragged into a dreamscape.
Within the small space Su Ze had isolated, bloodcurdling screams immediately began to echo, each one more miserable and piercing than the last. It was enough to make one’s hair stand on end.
Watching their companion’s state, the other three Dou Race Moon Gods felt a chill in their hearts. They all knew each other and were aware that this comrade was no coward. To be tormented into such a state, they couldn’t imagine what kind of treatment he was suffering.
The fragmented words that occasionally escaped his lips, in particular, made them look at Su Ze as if he were the devil himself.
