I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate

Chapter 718 - 390: Harvest and Improvement

In this battle, Su Ze had obtained two Tier Nine Divine Artifacts, one of which, the Divine Artifact belt, was an absorbable upgrade material.

He had also previously captured four Dou Race Moon Gods. He had severely injured all four of them, leaving some with only their heads remaining.

He planned to try and control these four using Blood and Flesh Parasite. If successful, Zexing would instantly gain four Moon God-level combatants.

’First, I need to increase my own strength. The stronger I become, the greater the chance of successfully parasitizing them...’

Although it mainly depended on the Pope’s skill level, Su Ze’s own strength could also slightly influence the parasite’s success rate.

Su Ze began to study the two Tier Nine Divine Artifacts he had just obtained.

After some experimentation, he had a basic understanding of the two Divine Artifacts’ effects.

The Divine Artifact belt’s primary function was to strengthen the physical body. It had a skill called "Metal Armor" which could turn the user’s entire body to metal, making them impervious to weapons, fire, and water, to the point where a Moon God could hardly cause a scratch.

Furthermore, it could store the physical damage taken, convert it into an energy attack, and release it all at once.

This ability was very similar to "Sponge Body." "Sponge Body" absorbs energy attacks, while "Metal Armor" absorbs physical attacks.

Its true strength lay in its ability to convert physical attacks into energy attacks.

Therefore, Su Ze suspected this wondrous item was likely a material for upgrading his "Sponge Body" skill.

Su Ze named the other Tier Nine wondrous item the "Dimension Ring."

It was a Tier Nine spatial Divine Artifact.

It could use the power of space to unleash attacks like Spatial Slash, and it possessed a powerful skill, "Spatial Exile," which could banish enemies within a target area to an Other Dimension filled with chaotic spacetime currents.

’These two Tier Nine Divine Artifacts are so powerful!’

Su Ze felt a little reluctant to absorb the Divine Artifact belt; keeping it for his own use seemed like a perfectly good option as well.

If he absorbed it and failed to gain its powerful effect, it would be a major loss.

After some thought, Su Ze decided not to absorb the Divine Artifact belt immediately. For one, he planned to use it himself to enhance his own combat power. For another, he wanted to maximize the effectiveness of the upgrade material.

His "Sponge Body" skill was currently only a Tier Seven divine skill, whereas the Divine Artifact belt was Tier Nine.

Absorbing it now would be somewhat of a waste. It would be difficult to use this one Divine Artifact to make the "Sponge Body" skill jump two tiers to become a Tier Nine divine skill. More than likely, it would only be upgraded to Tier Eight.

Then, to reach Tier Nine, he would have to find another Tier Nine material.

It was better to save it for now. He would wait until he upgraded "Sponge Body" to a Tier Eight divine skill through skill fusion or by absorbing other materials, and only then would he absorb the Tier Nine Divine Artifact belt.

’I’ll hold onto this Tier Nine Divine Artifact belt for now to increase my combat power.’

Su Ze named the belt the "Metalization Belt." With the Metalization Belt and the Dimension Ring, two Tier Nine Divine Artifacts, Su Ze’s combat power increased by another huge leap.

The Divine Artifacts he now frequently used included the Tier Eight Divine Artifact, Shadowless Needle, and the Artifact Seed.

As for the previously acquired spoils of war, the Tier Eight Purple Flame Torch and the broken Bone Shield, the quality of both Tier Eight Divine Artifacts was average. He kept the Purple Flame Torch for the time being, but only to charge his "Strongest Strike."

He gave the Bone Shield to Mr. Ya. As a wondrous item for defense and counter-attacks, it was a good fit for him.

More Divine Artifacts were not necessarily better; it was a classic case of biting off more than one could chew. Thus, even though there were other Tier Eight Divine Artifacts among the spoils of war, Su Ze didn’t take any for himself, leaving them in the base’s treasury instead.

However, Su Ze still hadn’t figured out why these two Tier Nine Divine Artifacts were able to break through the restrictions of his Forbidden Demon Domain.

He planned to wait until after he had parasitized the Dou Race Moon Gods to ask them about it.

But before that, he had to raise his own strength as much as possible to increase the odds of success.

A large amount of Evolutionary Material had accumulated in Su Ze’s body and needed to be digested. Plundering a Sun God, in particular, had left him feeling a bit "stuffed."

Once he digested all this Evolutionary Material, his strength would see another considerable improvement.

However, digesting this Evolutionary Material on his own could take who knows how many years. Naturally, Su Ze chose to absorb the Sands of Time to digest it all quickly.

He once again entered seclusion, continuously absorbing the golden energy from the Sands of Time to digest the Evolutionary Material within his body.

By the time he finished digesting all the Evolutionary Material in his body, his supply of the Sands of Time was completely depleted.

In the future, the only way to get more Sands of Time would be to extract it from the Creation Dream Butterfly’s eyeball.

The eyeball constantly emanated golden energy. If buried in soil, it would slowly transform the surrounding earth into the Sands of Time.

The only problem was the slow speed; the Sands of Time Su Ze had previously harvested had taken a thousand years to accumulate.

Moreover, the golden energy within the Creation Dream Butterfly’s eyeball was not infinite. Once it ran out, it would be gone, and the source of the Sands of Time would be cut off for good.

’Later, I’ll have the Pope and the others see if they can find a way to accelerate the rate at which the golden energy is released.’

After digesting the Evolutionary Material, Su Ze’s strength had noticeably improved. The next step was to upgrade his skills.

At the moment, he had no upgrade materials on hand other than the Metalization Belt. Therefore, if he wanted to upgrade his skills now, his only options were skill dismantling and skill fusion.

To undergo his ninth evolution, he had to upgrade all of his skills to Tier Eight or higher.

Su Ze had currently mastered fourteen skills. Among them, the ones that were already Tier Eight divine skills were: "Space Travel," "Forbidden Demon Domain," "Meteor Impact," and "Divine Grace of Evolution."

Of those, "Meteor Impact" and "Divine Grace of Evolution" both had complete inheritance paths, meaning they would upgrade automatically as Su Ze’s life level increased. They could level up all the way to the Ancestral God tier, so Su Ze didn’t have to worry about them.
