I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 712 - 388: The Might of Mr. Ao, the Power of the Ancestral God’s Body
Balrog’s expression was as dark as storm clouds as he replayed the recent scene in his mind.
Su Ze, who had been turning to vapor and was about to be banished, had suddenly vanished. A statue had taken his place.
The statue was banished to the Other Dimension, where it instantly crumbled and disintegrated. The gateway to the Other Dimension then sealed shut.
But even in that fleeting glance, Balrog had memorized the statue’s appearance.
As he recalled what the statue looked like, Balrog’s expression grew grim.
The statue depicted a young man who was not of the Nian Race, nor any other race Balrog recognized.
Balrog searched his memories, suddenly connecting the image to certain legends, but he couldn’t be certain.
Unlike the ordinary Nian Race experts active on Blue Star, Balrog was a Sun God. He was also one of the Ancestral God’s most favored sons, holding a revered status within the Dou Race. This granted him access to secrets far beyond the reach of common people.
His perspective and knowledge far surpassed those of the Thought Race Divine Spirits who had been reborn in borrowed bodies on Blue Star. Even an evolutionary genius like the Pope couldn’t have known about certain ancient secrets. But Balrog had occasionally heard of them from his father.
’Could it be the race I’m thinking of?’
Balrog was shaken. To confirm his suspicion, he shot into the sky and gave chase to the fleeing Magic Cube.
As a Sun God-level Spaceship, the Magic Cube was faster than the average Sun God. But as one of the Ancestral God’s most favored sons, how could Balrog possibly be without a Sun God-level Spaceship of his own?
Balrog produced a spaceship of his own, which rapidly expanded. He entered the vessel, pushed it to maximum acceleration, and pursued the Magic Cube relentlessly.
Inside the Magic Cube, Lin Hua and the others turned pale when they saw Balrog catching up. Anxiously, they said:
"We can’t lead him to Zexing! Change course, now!"
Mr. Ya, who was piloting the ship, shook his head and kept the vessel on course for Zexing.
He explained, "The boss’s last telepathic message told me to do two things: get us away from here, and lure this Dou Race Sun God to Zexing if possible.
"I was worried the Magic Cube would be too fast for him to keep up and was even considering slowing down a bit. But now that he has a Sun God-level Spaceship of his own, it saves us the trouble. All we have to do is head straight for Zexing."
"If the Star Lord has a plan, then that’s for the best."
Hearing this, Lin Hua and the others let out a collective sigh of relief.
They still didn’t know Su Ze’s fate. But hearing what Mr. Ya said, they realized Su Ze must have had a backup plan. At the very least, he was still alive and hadn’t died at the hands of the Dou Race Sun God.
...
The Replacement Skill was an effect of the eighth-tier divine skill, Space Travel. It allowed the user to swap places with a clone or a still-active body part.
This swap ignored all distance limitations, making it an incredibly powerful, life-saving divine skill.
The Flesh Statue Mr. Ya had previously erected for Su Ze was a perfect target for the skill. Thus, the moment he sensed danger, Su Ze instantly swapped places with it.
The statue was aboard the Emerald Spaceship, which was stored in the underground base on Zexing.
In that instant, Su Ze swapped places from the Dou Race Planet to the Emerald Spaceship, located deep inside the Zexing underground base.
He hurried out of the spaceship and through the underground base, heading straight for the chamber where Mr. Ao’s remains were kept.
A stately body lay quietly upon a jade bed, as if in a deep slumber.
Su Ze immediately mobilized the dream power within the base to control the Ancestral God’s body.
A moment later, the body slowly sat up. Its eyes remained tightly shut as it stood, walked out step-by-step, and entered the base’s main hall.
"Old Master..." Die gasped upon seeing Mr. Ao, but then she immediately realized what was happening.
"Master, is an enemy invading?"
"Yes. First, bring everyone from the surface down into the base. There might be a major battle soon," Su Ze ordered.
"Understood. I’ll have Hei handle it immediately. I will also activate the surface defenses to minimize damage to Zexing from the fight."
Su Ze nodded, then took Mr. Ao’s body to the surface and went into hiding.
The people on Zexing’s surface were quickly notified. Several passages to the underground base opened up, and the population began an orderly evacuation underground.
Zexing’s population was small. Although new life had been born in the year since the immigration, the total population was still just over thirty thousand. The evacuation only took a short while.
Soon, the surface was completely deserted.
Just as the evacuation was complete, the Magic Cube descended from the sky and landed on the surface.
To avoid damaging the settlements on Zexing, Mr. Ya had deliberately chosen a landing spot far from the human residential areas.
Su Ze immediately sent a telepathic message to everyone on the ship: "Stay inside the spaceship. Do not come out."
Hearing Su Ze’s voice, everyone on the Magic Cube seemed to find their pillar of strength, and a sense of calm washed over them.
Mr. Ya had just landed when another Sun God-level Spaceship appeared in the skies above Zexing. Balrog had arrived.
However, the ship didn’t land on Zexing directly.
After all, Mr. Ya and his crew had been fleeing, so to suddenly land on a planet was highly suspicious.
Normally, they should have continued their escape, heading for a Public Planet or a Public Star Realm to hide for a while. That would have been the most logical course of action.
’Could this planet be a trap? Have they set an ambush?’
Out of caution, Balrog piloted his ship in several wide circles around Zexing. He used the Sun God-level Spaceship’s sensor systems to scan the entire surface, but he found no sign of an ambush.
