I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 698 383: Interrogating King Die
The Dou Race had always looked down on the Nian Race, seeing them as nothing more than lapdogs for the Witch Race. That is, until recently, when three of their own Moon God experts were reportedly wiped out by a single member of the Nian Race.
Now, seeing this young man from the Nian Race appear before them all by himself, his expression utterly calm and composed, they were instantly filled with a sense of foreboding.
"Retreat!" the lead Dou Race Moon God ordered quietly.
However, Su Ze's figure flickered. He used Space Jump to escape the confines of the Star-Catching Net. Before the Dou Race members could even spot where he'd landed, he flickered again, reappearing right in front of their spaceship's hatch.
He stood there, blocking the entrance to the Dou Race's ship.
The lead Dou Race Moon God hesitated for a moment before speaking in a conciliatory tone, "Ah, a brother from the Nian Race. My apologies, my apologies. The Dou Race has never had any conflict with your esteemed people. This is all a misunderstanding. Why don't we each take a step back to avoid any unpleasantness? What do you say?"
Su Ze sneered. "Who the hell do you Dou Race think you are? A paltry third-rate race dares to call my Nian Race brothers?"
"You..." Provoked by Su Ze, the surrounding Dou Race members, who were already ill-tempered, instantly seethed with rage. They were on the verge of rushing forward to swarm him.
The lead Dou Race member, however, kept his composure. With a sharp cry, he stopped his Dou Race Star God subordinates.
His expression turned cold as well. He gave Su Ze a smile that didn't reach his eyes and said, "We were in the wrong to intercept your ship, but you needn't push things this far, sir. With so many of my brothers here, a real fight wouldn't exactly be fair to you."
The threat in his words was obvious.
If three of their Moon Gods hadn't been killed by a member of the Nian Race, making them exceptionally wary, they wouldn't be wasting their breath. They would have charged in long ago.
Meanwhile, the Dou Race members were communicating privately via telepathy.
"General, this guy is a Moon God. The one who killed those three generals was supposedly just a Star God. It can't be the same person."
"If their Star God was that powerful, imagine how strong their Moon God must be!"
"Idiot! Do you think everyone in the Nian Race is that strong? That was just an anomaly. What race doesn't have a genius or two?"
"Exactly! If the Nian Race was full of geniuses like that, they'd be a Dominator Race by now!"
"General, should we take him out?"
The Dou Race General was still hesitating when Su Ze's voice, dripping with contempt, rang out again:
"No matter how many of you there are, trash is still trash. Can a swarm of ants truly threaten a god?"
That was the last straw. The pent-up anger in his heart erupted. "You Nian Race are nothing but lapdogs! You really think you're worthy of being a second-rate race? A mere Moon God dares to be so brazen! Not even the Dominator Races are as arrogant as you!"
"Brothers, charge!"
With a great roar, the Dou Race General charged toward Su Ze, his followers right behind him.
'These brainless brutes... As expected, all they know is close-quarters combat.' Su Ze sneered inwardly and activated his Forbidden Demon Domain.
Against enemies who swarmed him for close-quarters combat, a Domain Skill was clearly an excellent choice.
His Gravity Domain was, after all, only a tier-seven skill. It was adequate for dealing with Star Gods, but using it against a Moon God would be a struggle.
As the Forbidden Demon Domain manifested, the group of Dou Race experts froze for a second. The lead General recognized the skill:
"The Forbidden Demon Domain! You're the one who killed Demon Fighter?"
The Demon Fighter he mentioned was clearly the Dou Race Moon God who possessed the Forbidden Demon Domain skill—the one Su Ze had killed previously.
A sense of dread washed over the Dou Race experts.
If this young Nian Race Moon God was really the one who had killed their three generals, weren't they all just committing suicide by attacking him?
However, why was he using the Forbidden Demon Domain?
It was no exaggeration to say this Domain Skill was tailor-made for the Dou Race. They weren't skilled with energy attacks and preferred close-quarters combat, so the Forbidden Demon Domain actually served as a form of protection for them.
Su Ze, of course, had already considered this. Within the Forbidden Demon Domain, his liquid body offered extremely powerful defensive capabilities.
Only physical attacks worked inside the Forbidden Demon Domain, and in his liquid state, physical attacks were the last thing he feared.
Besides, when it came to strength and close-quarters combat, he didn't fear the Dou Race in the slightest. His goal was to crush his enemies in the very domain where they were strongest.
As soon as the Forbidden Demon Domain was active, Su Ze used his Self-Control skill. His body swelled to its maximum size and shifted into its liquid state.
"Weaken!"
"Amplify!"
With a mere thought, Su Ze activated the Forbidden Demon Domain's effects, weakening the strength of all enemies around him.
Although the dozen or so enemies around him were all Star Gods with lower life levels, the weakening effect on them was minimal. However, the Moon God-level Dou Race General still had his strength significantly reduced.
Meanwhile, the strength amplification Su Ze received himself was quite substantial.
Su Ze ignored the Dou Race General, choosing to strike at the other dozen or so Dou Race Star Gods first.
A quick sweep with his Evolutionary Sense told him exactly which of these Star Gods possessed the Origin Genes he needed.
A total of eight of them had the Origin Genes he was missing. One of them, however, only had about 1% of the Dou Race Origin Gene. Another didn't have the specific Dou Race Origin Gene Su Ze needed, but he did sense the Origin Genes of several other races within him.
This was a normal occurrence. These individuals had their own histories, and it was entirely possible they had plundered Origin Genes from various races over time.
Su Ze operated on the principle that every little bit counts. He wouldn't let even a sliver go to waste. Even if it was only 1% of an Origin Gene, he would plunder it all the same.
Who knew? One day in the future, that 1% might be exactly what he needed.
