I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 667 - 372: Forging a Tier 8 Divine Artifact (3)
Females of the Bag Race already held a high status within their race. Since this particular female was a Moon God-level powerhouse, her standing was even more revered. Other members of her race would help care for and raise her children.
This Bag Race pair was, in fact, a married couple. To be more precise, however, unless a male was exceptionally powerful, he was considered merely a female’s "concubine" and could be replaced at any time. Many Bag Race females had more than one such "concubine."
Realizing she couldn’t catch up to Su Ze, the Moon God-level female of the Bag Race had no choice but to turn her spaceship around and head for her home lair.
Meanwhile, Su Ze, having shaken off his pursuers, didn’t simply leave.
He also turned around, put the Magic Cube into stealth mode, and doubled back along his original path.
The hunted was about to become the hunter.
Since their ship couldn’t keep up with the Magic Cube, it meant that at best, it was a Moon God-level Spaceship. It wouldn’t be able to detect the invisible Magic Cube.
Su Ze suspected they were the group with the Bag Race stall owner.
He wasn’t the type to take an insult lying down. They had first tried to scam him, and when he’d foiled their attempt, they had tried to rob and kill him.
Even though he hadn’t suffered any losses, he had to vent his anger. He couldn’t just let it slide.
The crucial part was his estimation of their strength. They were of the Bag Race, with a Moon God-level Spaceship. And according to the Pope, a Moon God-level member of the Bag Race was already considered a powerhouse.
While Sun God powerhouses existed, they were extremely scattered, so the chances of running into one were slim.
As a Weak Race, the combat prowess of the Bag Race’s Moon Gods was pathetic, making them perfect for Su Ze to test his own strength.
Su Ze planned to probe their strength. Even if they really had a Sun God, he had the Magic Cube. It was faster than a Sun God powerhouse, so he could escape at any time.
Su Ze backtracked along his path but saw no sign of the spaceship. However, the Magic Cube detected the residual energy fluctuations from their ship. They followed the trail in pursuit.
Before long, the Magic Cube detected the spaceship’s location.
The Magic Cube accelerated and closed the distance. Su Ze had intended to intercept their ship immediately, but after a moment’s thought, he held back, continuing to tail them while invisible.
He checked the current coordinates and asked with some uncertainty, "Isn’t this the way to where we encountered those Star Pirates?"
Before, on their way from Blue Star to Zexing, they had run into some Star Pirates from the Bag Race. The Pope had told Su Ze to save the coordinates, saying they could raid the Bag Race’s lair later if they had the chance.
And now, Su Ze realized they were approaching those very coordinates.
"Don’t tell me that stall owner and the Star Pirates we ran into last time are from the same Bag Race nest?"
"It’s highly likely," the Pope analyzed. "Generally, Bag Race lairs aren’t concentrated in one place. There’s usually only one lair per region."
"Then let’s follow them and see exactly where their lair is. If we get the chance, we’ll raid them while we’re at it."
Su Ze hadn’t expected this bonus.
He continued to follow the Bag Race ship at a leisurely pace. Two days later, the ship ahead suddenly activated its own stealth mode.
’They’re pretty cautious. It looks like we’re almost there.’
Su Ze’s spirits lifted. Even though their ship was invisible, it couldn’t possibly fool the Magic Cube’s detection systems.
After tailing them for several more hours, the Bag Race ship finally stopped. Ahead, Su Ze saw a fairly large, habitable planet.
The Bag Race, much like the Human Race, chose these kinds of habitable planets—ones that hadn’t awakened any evolutionary power—as their lairs.
However, the Bag Race had ravaged this planet beyond recognition. At a glance, the entire world was a dull yellow, with hardly a trace of green to be seen.
That yellow was all wasteland and desert.
Su Ze finally understood what a true sea of people looked like.
The entire planet was swarming, packed tight with members of the Bag Race as if they’d been planted in rows.
The Bag Race ship slowly descended to the planet’s surface. Su Ze and the Pope had the Magic Cube descend quietly as well, observing from high in the atmosphere.
After the Bag Race ship landed, a male and female of the race disembarked. The male was indeed the stall owner.
’One Star God, one Moon God...’
Having confirmed their strength, Su Ze felt much more confident. This was a fight he could take.
But now was certainly not the right time to make a move. He had no idea if there were other Bag Race powerhouses on the planet.
Based on the habits of the Bag Race, their powerhouses didn’t stay in the lair for long. They would soon head out to continue their swindling. Su Ze prepared to make his move when the pair left again.
As for the lair itself, it wasn’t going anywhere. He could deal with the pair first, then return to plunder it.
"Huh?"
Su Ze let out a soft cry of surprise. He could actually feel two sources on the planet that were attracting him. His "Evolutionary Sense" ability had taken effect, sensing suitable upgrade materials.
’This Bag Race lair really is hiding a lot of goodies,’ Su Ze thought.
But what truly surprised him was that, after focusing his senses, he confirmed one of the sources of attraction was the very same Moon God-level female from the Bag Race who had just disembarked from the ship.
’That Bag Race woman... she’s a suitable upgrade material for me?’
There was only one explanation for this: one of the skills she possessed was likely a higher-tier version of one of his own.
If he killed and plundered her, or directly extracted and absorbed her Evolutionary Material, he would be able to upgrade the corresponding skill.
This gave Su Ze yet another reason he had to make a move on her.
Su Ze didn’t go after the other treasure that was attracting him, lest he alert his targets.
He waited patiently. Each day, he piloted the ship around the planet, familiarizing himself with the terrain. At the same time, he used his Perception Tentacles to locate hidden treasures, which would make his future plundering much easier.
After several days, the Bag Race pair finally boarded their spaceship and left the lair.
Su Ze immediately gave chase. He was growing impatient.
Once the Bag Race ship was far from their homeworld and had entered a Faster-than-light Space Jump, Su Ze no longer hesitated. The Magic Cube accelerated, shot past their vessel, and then cut them off, blocking their path.
With a deafening BOOM, the two ships collided!
