I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 643 - 364: He Was So Thoughtful
Su Ze was shocked. He hadn’t expected that the Black man had been possessed by a member of the Nian Race.
It turned out that a powerful Nian Race expert had discovered the legacy’s existence even before Mu Wang.
And it seemed this expert and Mu Wang had the same idea: to take the entire legacy for themselves. They hadn’t told their Nian Race companions, which was why no other members of their race knew about the legacy.
Now, the Black man’s treatment no longer surprised him. Mr. Ao had intentionally left the external legacy’s teleporter without any racial restrictions, precisely because he planned to capture experts from other races and use them as labor.
Any non-Human Race beings who teleported via the external legacy would be controlled by Die. Not only was their freedom restricted, but their very lives were subject to her whims.
If he were to step out of line in any way, Die could kill him at any moment.
Before the Nian Race-possessed Black man arrived, Lin Hua and Old Waller knew nothing about the Nian Race invasion. Forget them—even Uur Hogan, who had arrived on Zexing three years ago, was unaware.
The moment the Nian Race-possessed man teleported to Zexing, he was brought under Die’s control. After a period of torture, he confessed the Nian Race’s entire plan.
Everything Lin Hua and the others learned about the universe came from this Nian Race-possessed man. After all, they couldn’t leave Zexing and had no contact with the outside world.
Lin Hua and the others had relative freedom on Zexing; any work they did was completely voluntary. But the Nian Race-possessed man was different. He was forced to work by Die every day, treated exactly like a slave.
Furthermore, his "wages"—the contribution points—were only a tenth of what Lin Hua and the others earned. On top of that, all the undesirable mining work that no one else wanted to do was assigned to him.
Despite the low wages, the sheer volume of work "Hei" did made up for it. After decades of thankless labor on Zexing, Hei had successfully ascended to the God-level.
After Lin Hua and the other two finished talking about matters on Zexing, it was Su Ze’s turn to speak about Blue Star.
The three of them had been away from Blue Star for many years and missed their homeland dearly.
Although Uur, who had arrived three years prior, had told them many things about Blue Star, they now weren’t sure what was true and what was false. Besides, Uur hadn’t known much about the situation on the Lin Hua Continent.
So, Su Ze gave them a rough summary of his experiences. He started from when he entered the Divine Dice and discovered the Nian Race invasion, then spoke of how they convinced Mr. Ke to come out of retirement. He continued, recounting how he had collected the four puzzle pieces and how the Stu and Wol Families had pledged their allegiance to him...
When they heard that Uur had stolen the puzzle fragments from both the Stu and Wol Families to leave for his grandson, Baliss, Old Waller and Tano cursed in unison.
"That’s not what that bastard told us!"
After Uur arrived on Zexing, he hadn’t dared to mention that he’d stolen the puzzle fragments from the Stu and Wol Families. He only said that the three great families were coexisting peacefully.
He had been single-mindedly focused on building structures and finding resources to exchange for contribution points from the Five-Colored Butterfly. He used those resources to accelerate his push to the God-level, completing his seventh evolution in just three short years.
He must have been working so desperately because he felt insecure living among a group of Star Gods.
Su Ze continued his story, speaking of the final battle against the Nian Race and of Mr. Ke sacrificing his life...
Tears streamed down Lin Hua’s face, and he choked out, "I am not his equal."
Lin Hua and Mr. Ke had made different choices. Lin Hua chose to pursue a higher level of evolution, while Mr. Ke chose to give up his own future to protect Blue Star.
It wasn’t a matter of who was right or wrong, but Mr. Ke’s choice was undoubtedly the more admirable one.
There wasn’t much to say about what happened after that. It was simply a matter of him cleaning up the remaining threats on Blue Star and then bringing his people to Zexing.
When Su Ze finished, the three of them were lost in their own thoughts, with Lin Hua being the most emotionally affected. The scene fell into a brief silence.
Su Ze broke the silence. "So it’s just the five of you here? Has no one else ever come?"
"Not as far as we know," Old Waller replied.
"Strange. Then why have six teleportation slots been used?" Su Ze asked in confusion, looking at Die on his shoulder.
As the caretaker here, Die would surely know the reason.
"The previous master used one of the slots," Die said, then added, "Mr. Ao."
Su Ze was stunned for a moment, then understood. "Are you saying that after leaving the legacy on Blue Star, Mr. Ao used the teleporter to return to Zexing?"
"That’s right. By then, he had already exhausted all his power. He lost all signs of life just a few minutes after he returned. I was by his side when he died," Die said.
Su Ze finally understood. So Mr. Ao had used the last slot himself.
"So, does that mean Mr. Ao is now laid to rest on Zexing?"
"Follow me," Die said instead of answering, beckoning Su Ze and the others to follow her.
The group walked to a chocolate-like wall at the very back of the base, where a large door materialized out of thin air.
At Die’s signal, Su Ze pushed the door open. The instant it opened, a terrifying aura washed over them, so powerful that Su Ze and the others couldn’t stop trembling.
It was like ants facing the might of a god!
Su Ze managed to bear it, but Lin Hua and Old Waller behind him lost their composure completely, trembling uncontrollably. Tano went a step further and fell to his knees, prostrating himself on the ground.
Resisting the pressure, Su Ze pushed the door completely open.
Lin Hua and Old Waller finally couldn’t hold on any longer. Their legs gave out, and they collapsed to their knees, leaving only Su Ze still standing.
After a few breaths, the pressure suddenly vanished, and everything returned to normal. It was like a dam releasing a flood; once the water was discharged, calm was restored. Only then could Su Ze and the others turn their attention to what was behind the door.
Behind the door was a small room. In the room was a jade bed, and on the bed lay a man.
The man had a healthy, rosy complexion, looking as if he were merely asleep.
Su Ze recognized him at a glance: the man was Mr. Ao.
In death, his body no longer had any life force or energy fluctuations, yet the terrifying pressure from moments ago had been released from this very corpse.
An Ancestral God-level expert was not to be underestimated, even as a corpse—especially since Mr. Ao had been a top-tier powerhouse among Ancestral Gods in his lifetime.
Just then, Die spoke up. "My previous master intentionally left his body behind to help you defend against enemies. Within the confines of Zexing, if you control his remains, you should be able to fight a Sun God-level expert!"
Su Ze hadn’t imagined Mr. Ao would have such a plan for his own remains. Deeply moved, he exclaimed, "Mr. Ao truly thought of everything!"
