I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 642 - 364: He Was Too Thoughtful (Part 2)
It was hard to say whether the Five-Colored Butterfly could be considered a complete lifeform, but based on their interactions, it clearly possessed a complete and independent consciousness. It lacked the idiotic feel of a crude artificial intelligence.
"Then you must have a name of your own, right?" Su Ze asked, tilting his head.
The Five-Colored Butterfly said, "I am your personal assistant. You can call me Die Die."
’Die Die... Sounds like "daddy"?’
’I suspect you’re trying to take advantage of me.’
Su Ze said expressionlessly, "I’ll just call you Die from now on."
In any case, whether Su Ze liked it or not, this was the base’s aesthetic now.
He could only sit down on a crab-shaped stool with Lin Hua and the other two, gathered around the mushroom table to chat.
The Five-Colored Butterfly, Die, flapped its wings, and four drinks instantly materialized before them.
Su Ze picked his up and took a sip. It was a flavor he’d never had before, and it was surprisingly good.
As the four of them sipped their drinks, they began to talk, and the conversation quickly started to flow.
Although Lin Hua was deeply concerned about the situation on the Lin Hua Continent, after what had just transpired, he and the other two had their priorities straight. Answering Su Ze’s questions came first.
What Su Ze wanted to know was, simply put, the general situation on Zexing. Through the explanations from Lin Hua and the other two, he quickly got the gist of it.
Lin Hua’s Legend was the first of them to arrive on Zexing. Less than fifty years later, Old Waller was also transported here.
More than a hundred years after that, the black man was transported over, followed by Tano, the son-in-law of the Stu Family.
The last one to be transported here was, naturally, Uur Hogan, who arrived three years ago.
Before being transported here, they were all already Legendary-level experts. After receiving an external inheritance, each of them also obtained a divine skill. You could say they all met the prerequisites for the seventh evolution.
After arriving on Zexing, whether it was by fusing skills or absorbing external resources to level up, as long as they upgraded all their skills to the sixth rank, they could undergo the seventh evolution.
Upgrading to the sixth rank wasn’t difficult, provided one had enough resources.
It might have been difficult to gather all the necessary resources on Blue Star, but Zexing had them!
Zexing was enormous. Although the power of evolution had been suppressed for over a millennium, vast quantities of resources from that bygone era remained, waiting to be mined and excavated.
Divine-grade resources were almost nonexistent, but there was no shortage of sixth-rank ones.
Lin Hua and the others had two ways of obtaining resources. The first was to search for them on Zexing themselves. The second was to get them from Die.
Die had access to a vast repository of resources left behind by Mr. Ao, which contained plenty of valuable items. Furthermore, it could provide resources tailored to each person’s specific needs.
To acquire the resources Die held, however, they had to be exchanged for contribution points.
There were also two ways to earn contribution points: one was to work, and the other was to sell any resources they found to Die.
As soon as Lin Hua and the others arrived on Zexing, they accepted tasks from Die to develop the planet.
Building houses, reclaiming wasteland, planting crops, taming wild beasts, mining—all these activities counted as developing Zexing, and all of them awarded contribution points.
The more they did, the more they earned.
The tasks weren’t mandatory; Lin Hua’s Legend and the others could choose whether or not to do them. Die placed no restrictions on them. As long as they didn’t leave Zexing, they were free to do as they pleased.
When they first arrived on this new planet, they were filled with a sense of novelty and excitement. They roamed everywhere, searching high and low for resources.
However, even though Zexing had plenty of resources, it was difficult for them to gather everything they needed on their own.
Eventually, they started turning in the resources they found but couldn’t use to Die in exchange for contribution points. Then, they used those points to get the resources they actually needed.
This way, they could all upgrade their skills to the sixth rank as quickly as possible and begin their seventh evolution.
After completing their seventh evolution, they actually gained the ability to fly through space physically. However, when they first arrived, Die had implanted a special energy within them that made it impossible to leave Zexing.
The moment they tried to leave Zexing’s atmosphere, they would instantly fall into a deep sleep.
Therefore, even though they had become gods, they were trapped on this planet.
Lin Hua gave a bitter smile. "It’s absurd when you think about it. I’ve been away from Blue Star for four hundred years, yet I’ve never seen the real Cosmic Starry Sky. I’ve merely traded one planet for another to live on."
Die had told them that only after the new master arrived would they be allowed to leave Zexing’s vicinity, and only with the new master’s permission.
After the initial novelty wore off, Lin Hua and the others lost all interest in exploring Zexing. No matter how vast the planet was, it was all more or less the same. There were no unexpected surprises, nor were there any unexpected dangers.
So they just started building houses and farming on the surface to earn contribution points, which they would exchange for suitable resources to improve their strength.
After becoming gods, the rank of the resources they required also increased. Such resources were basically impossible to find on Zexing and could only be obtained from Die.
Building houses and farming, taming wild beasts, raising poultry and livestock... When they got tired of it, they’d go out to search for resources, treating it as a vacation.
The three men present—Lin Hua, Old Waller, and Tano—had all been living this way.
They had long grown tired of this life, which was why they had been desperately hoping for the new master’s arrival.
"What’s the deal with that black man, then?" Su Ze asked curiously.
It was obvious that the Black Star God was treated differently from Lin Hua and the others. Die was using him like a piece of farm equipment.
"Him? He’s from the Nian Race!" Old Waller spat. "It was only after he arrived that we learned of the Nian Race’s existence and found out they had already invaded Blue Star."
