I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 636 - 362: Zexing 2
Su Ze nodded. Considering they were outnumbered and facing a Moon God, he had no intention of getting into a pointless fight. He was about to have the Magic Cube simply accelerate away.
The Magic Cube could withstand a full-powered strike from a Sun God, so these seven Star Pirates combined couldn’t possibly break its defenses.
Just then, however, he noticed the seven individuals outside seemed to be having a dispute. They were communicating with each other via transmission, but he couldn’t tell what they were arguing about.
The Moon God leading them stepped forward, bowed, and said, "A newcomer on our team doesn’t know the rules and has offended you, my lord. Please, forgive us."
They were speaking a language Su Ze had never heard before. However, the Magic Cube had a built-in translation system, and with the Pope, a Nian Race scholar, at his side, Su Ze understood them perfectly.
’So they recklessly intercepted a spaceship, only to discover it was a Sun God-level Spaceship? And now they realize there’s someone on board they can’t afford to provoke, so they’re getting scared?’
Having figured out the Bag Race members’ thoughts, Su Ze had the Pope transmit a message outside the ship in the Nian Race language. His tone was cold. "You have delayed this one. How do you intend to compensate me?"
The moment the Bag Race Moon God heard the Nian Race tongue, a fawning smile spread across his face. "So you are a lord of the Nian Race! We are willing to offer all the spoils from this ’escort’ to compensate for your loss. We hope you will not take offense."
With that, he took out a pocket-shaped spatial item and held it out before him.
"They call robbing people ’escorting’?" Su Ze let out a laugh and nodded to the Pope.
The Pope snorted. "I’ll let it slide this one time. Next time, watch who you’re messing with!"
"Thank you, my lord, for your mercy!" the Bag Race Moon God hurriedly replied.
Su Ze immediately took control of the Magic Cube. A suction force reached out toward the spatial pocket, pulling it into the ship.
The Magic Cube then accelerated, vanishing into the distance in an instant.
The Magic Cube resumed faster-than-light travel, entering a Space Jump. Su Ze opened the Space Pocket and swept his Spiritual Power through it. The space inside was vast—at least several dozen times larger than the storage items on Blue Star.
Inside, various resources were piled up like small mountains.
Su Ze recognized a few of the resources, but he had no idea about the use or value of the vast majority of them.
But the Pope would surely recognize them. He tossed the Space Pocket to the Pope to have a look.
The Pope glanced at it. "It’s passable. But this definitely isn’t their entire haul from this run. The quantity is large, but there’s nothing particularly precious. Not a single Rank-8 resource."
Su Ze wasn’t bothered and simply nodded. He knew that if he had applied more pressure, he might have been able to squeeze more out of the Bag Race Star Pirates. At the end of the day, however, he didn’t possess the strength to truly subdue them.
The Pope then reminded him, "Master, you should mark our previous coordinates in the ship’s system. In the future, when you’re strong enough, you can search for that crew’s lair in the vicinity. The haul should be quite substantial."
Su Ze frowned. "Didn’t you say the Bag Race is a weak species? Are they wealthy?"
The Pope explained, "Across the universe, every Bag Race nest is considered a treasure trove. Their lairs might not have many high-grade resources, but the quantity of low-grade resources is absolutely terrifying. You have thirty thousand people with you, and they will all need resources to evolve. Relying solely on gathering resources from Zexing may not be enough.
"Even if you don’t need them yourself, you can use them for trade. Quantity can become quality. As long as you have enough low-tier resources, you can trade them for high-tier ones."
Su Ze considered this for a moment. He thought the Pope had a point, but he didn’t agree with the idea of targeting the Bag Race. He did, however, agree that he needed to start thinking seriously about the resource problem.
He wasn’t actually worried about the resources for the thirty thousand people’s evolution. Though he hadn’t arrived at Zexing yet, he knew it had been formed by smelting and fusing multiple planets. In terms of both size and resources, Blue Star couldn’t possibly compare. Supporting thirty thousand people would be a trivial matter.
Besides, he didn’t expect the thirty thousand people who accompanied him to develop to any significant degree in the short term, much less be of any real help to him.
However, he could indeed trade large quantities of low-tier resources for useful mid- and high-tier ones. Even if he couldn’t use them himself, he could give them to Mr. Ya and the others.
As for the thirty thousand people he had brought along, Su Ze’s plan was to first focus on cultivating the small handful with the greatest potential, allowing them to grow quickly and become useful allies.
Mr. Ya was his current top priority to cultivate. He had the greatest potential of the group, and Su Ze trusted him unconditionally.
To cultivate a few formidable experts, the resources left behind by Mr. Ao would certainly not be enough. Therefore, Su Ze did indeed need to make long-term plans and consider future sources for resources.
"How strong is the Bag Race? They have a Moon God, and their nest might have even stronger experts. Even if I wanted to go after them, it would be a long time from now, wouldn’t it?" Su Ze said. He had no intention of making an enemy of the Bag Race.
He was only a Star God. There was no need to go out of his way to provoke a race that had at least one Moon God.
The Pope explained, "Master, you don’t understand. The Bag Race is a rather peculiar species in the universe. They’re weak and have very few decent experts. They mostly survive through shady dealings—waylaying travelers, begging on the streets, smuggling, and petty theft. These are the things their race is known for.
"There’s only one reason they’ve managed to survive without being wiped out: they breed like crazy!
