I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 629 - 360: The Seventh Evolution
Su Ze used his Disassembly and Assembly Ability for the first time, detaching the Sleep Poison from his "Needle Strike" skill.
The process went smoothly. This was likely because the Sleep Poison itself wasn’t deeply connected to the "Needle Strike" skill. Since the link between them was weak, separating them was easy.
The detached Sleep Poison couldn’t be considered a complete skill on its own, much like a part removed from a machine that cannot function by itself.
Meanwhile, the "Needle Strike" skill, now without its Sleep Poison effect, still maintained its rank as a Quasi-Divine Skill.
After all, the skill had only been upgraded to a Quasi-Divine Skill after absorbing a divine-grade object and was just one step away from becoming a true Divine Skill. Losing a relatively unimportant effect like Sleep Poison had little impact on it.
Detaching it was easy; the hard part was "installing" it. Su Ze began to integrate the Sleep Poison into his Gravity Domain.
He immediately felt a distinct resistance.
The more compatible the skills, the weaker the resistance, and vice versa.
The Sleep Poison had some compatibility with the Gravity Domain, but they weren’t exactly a perfect match.
Fortunately, Domain Skills are highly inclusive, and the Sleep Poison wasn’t a complete skill, but merely a detached effect.
Therefore, the resistance wasn’t too great.
After about half a day of strenuous effort, he finally succeeded in fusing the two.
Throughout the process, Su Ze had to continuously fight against the resistance, draining his stamina, Spiritual Power, and evolutionary power with every passing moment.
’I can only imagine how difficult it would be to forcibly fuse skills with low compatibility.’
Once integrated into the new skill, the Sleep Poison immediately underwent an adaptive change.
Gravity Domain (Tier 6, S-Rank): Control gravity within the domain’s range. Can also form a Gravity Chain to pull targets from outside the domain to any position within it. The domain is permeated with Sleep Poison, which affects both the physical body and the soul. Life forms infected by the Sleep Poison will rapidly fall into a deep sleep, eventually entering a state of eternal slumber and dying.
The Gravity Domain skill had finally, successfully been upgraded to Tier 6.
’This was to be expected. As long as the fusion succeeded, an upgrade was guaranteed!’
However, even after the fusion, the Sleep Poison still existed in the form of a toxin, which Su Ze felt lacked a certain flair.
’In my mind, a Domain Skill should manifest as a fundamental rule. It shouldn’t need a medium like a ’toxin’; it should just directly force any enemy inside to fall asleep.’
’Then again,’ he thought, ’my Gravity Domain is only Tier 6. There’s plenty of room for improvement. It might evolve in that direction in the future.’
Besides, its existence as a toxin had its advantages. If it were just a domain effect, it would fade as soon as the domain was dispelled. But as a poison, once an enemy was afflicted, the toxicity would remain even if Su Ze withdrew the domain.
The effects of the Gravity Domain skill were no longer purely focused on gravity. Su Ze could foresee integrating even more effects into this Domain Skill in the future.
’At that point, the name "Gravity Domain" probably won’t be fitting anymore.’
For the time being, however, Su Ze couldn’t think of a better name, so he stuck with the old one.
Gravity Domain was now upgraded to Tier 6, meeting the requirement. Next, he had to address his Impact Cannon and Liquid Life skills.
This next step was far more straightforward and brutal: he would directly fuse the entire Impact Cannon skill into his "Strongest Punch"!
This process didn’t actually use his Disassembly and Assembly Ability; it was just a normal skill fusion. If an evolver lacked divine-grade extracts to absorb, this was the very path they had to take to build their ladder to godhood.
Initially, Su Ze had also planned to rely on creating a Divine Skill through fusion to break through to his seventh evolution. But after obtaining the extract from the Beast King Sponge, that was no longer necessary.
Now, he didn’t need to intentionally create a Divine Skill; he just had to fuse the two Tier 5 skills.
As the fusion of the Impact Cannon skill and "Strongest Punch" began, Su Ze immediately felt resistance and a Repulsive Force originating from within his own body.
It was a force originating from his very genes; merging two sets of genes into one was certainly no easy task.
This resistance was clearly much greater than what he’d felt when upgrading Gravity Domain!
Su Ze had to continuously fight against the resistance generated within his body, mobilizing all his energy to counter and suppress it.
The energy drain was more than ten times greater than before!
And this was despite "Strongest Punch" being a highly inclusive skill.
Su Ze finally understood why people said achieving godhood by fusing a Divine Skill on your own was a challenge of hellish difficulty. He was merely fusing a Tier 5 skill into a Tier 6 one—not even attempting to create a Divine Skill—and he was already feeling the strain.
One could only imagine the ordeal one would face when trying to fuse an actual Divine Skill.
Su Ze’s strength was, in all aspects, already at the absolute peak of the Legendary rank, and his Soul Body had even achieved godhood. Yet even he found this slightly strenuous. An ordinary Legendary-rank individual would find it impossible.
Furthermore, other Legendary-rank experts lacked Su Ze’s Disassembly and Assembly Ability, nor did they possess nearly as many skills as he did.
Su Ze currently possessed a total of 22 skills, allowing him to pick and choose the most compatible ones for fusion. Other Legendary-rank individuals, by contrast, had 15 skills at most, giving them far fewer options.
To create a Divine Skill, their only option was to forcibly fuse skills one by one, again and again...
