Chapter 618 - 357: God-level Material (Part 2)

Su Ze had already upgraded his Eye of Truth skill to the sixth rank. Its Perception Tentacles possessed the senses of touch, sight, and hearing, but now a special power was drastically weakening all three.

’So this must be the so-called shadow power? Quite something.’

Su Ze was intrigued.

The Perception Tentacles were generated by fusing with his Spiritual Power. ’Even my current god-level Spiritual Power is being interfered with. If I hadn’t reached this level, I probably wouldn’t be able to perceive anything at all.’

Although the Perception Tentacles’ sensory abilities were being interfered with, they hadn’t vanished completely. Su Ze could still get a rough idea of the situation below.

He sensed a large number of aberrant beasts below. They were different from any he had encountered before, each one lurking in the shadows and merging with the darkness. He could only barely detect their presence.

At the bottom of the chasm, thousands of meters deep, Su Ze found Pulamon!

Pulamon was trapped inside a coffin-like container, apparently unconscious.

Su Ze didn’t find Nacho, the leader of the Filth Earth Organization, but he did see a shadow palace at the bottom of the chasm.

As for the interior of the shadow palace, his Perception Tentacles couldn’t penetrate it.

The shadow palace seemed to be empowered here in the Shadow Abyss. The last time he’d seen it, his Perception Tentacles had been able to partially penetrate it.

’I’m stronger now, yet my Perception Tentacles can’t get through at all.’

’But it doesn’t matter. Dwarf Nacho is most likely hiding in the shadow palace, lying in wait.’

The moment he found Pulamon had been captured, Su Ze understood what was happening.

’Nacho must have discovered that I was controlling Pulamon!’

’He might have picked up on some clues, or maybe someone from the Nian Race deliberately leaked the information to him.’

After all, quite a few of the Nian Race’s powerful members knew that Su Ze had taken control of Pulamon.

Nacho was using Pulamon as bait to lure him into the Shadow Abyss, where an ambush was surely waiting.

’But what he doesn’t know is that I’ve already become a god!’

’Even as a god in Soul Body form, I still have god-level combat power.’

Before his ascension, Su Ze might have hesitated, knowing he was walking into an ambush. He might have made some preparations. But now, he was fearless.

In the face of such an absolute gap in power, no amount of preparation would make a difference.

Su Ze left the Magic Cube and descended rapidly toward the bottom of the Shadow Abyss.

Along the way, the howls of aberrant beasts echoed in his ears. Su Ze deliberately suppressed his aura to the legendary level, which kept most of them from daring to approach, let alone attack him.

But there were always a few foolhardy beasts that attacked him anyway. He swatted them dead with a casual wave of his hand.

After entering the Shadow Abyss, he felt the so-called shadow power. The entire underground cavern was saturated with it.

The aberrant beasts here had mostly evolved from strange, bizarre cave-dwelling creatures, the most common of which were various species of bats.

These beasts had all evolved Shadow Element powers, allowing them to use Shadow Element skills and draw upon the ambient shadow power.

Finally, Su Ze landed at the bottom of the chasm.

The shadow palace was hidden in a corner, perfectly blended with the surrounding darkness. An ordinary person would never have been able to spot it.

Su Ze pretended not to notice and walked toward the coffin-like container holding Pulamon.

Behind him, the shadow palace drew near in silence.

Su Ze, feigning ignorance, walked up to the container and threw open the lid.

He saw Pulamon inside, merely in a deep sleep and otherwise unharmed.

Just then, the shadow palace behind him transformed into a gigantic Shadow Beast Head, its maw gaping as it lunged to bite him.

Without even turning his head, Su Ze’s body suddenly expanded. A massive hand shot backward and grabbed the shadow palace, clenching it tight as if it were a giant ball of cotton candy.

The shadow palace appeared to be made of shadows, semi-corporeal, but it actually possessed a hard core.

Bolts of electricity flickered in Su Ze’s hand. He unleashed a barrage of electric shocks on the shadow palace, followed by a "Needle Strike" and then an "Impact Cannon," hammering the core until it rang with a series of loud THUDS.

He used his Impact Cannon to completely absorb the thick layer of shadow energy on the palace’s surface, revealing an Obsidian-like core.

The leader of the Filth Earth Organization was hiding inside the core, rattled into a daze by the impacts.

CRACK!

Su Ze’s god-level body possessed peerless might. While it might not provide much of a boost to his other skills, his raw strength was now off the charts. As he hammered it with both fists, the Obsidian-like core instantly fractured with a web of cracks.

This terrified Nacho, who was hiding inside, half to death. He was afraid the core would collapse and crush him inside it.

Finally, Nacho could hide no longer. He transformed into a black shadow and shot out of the core.

Su Ze took a single step in pursuit. The Land Lock flew out, drew a large circle on the chasm floor, and instantly trapped Nacho within.

Many Shadow Element skills were excellent for escaping. Su Ze didn’t get arrogant; to be safe, he used the Land Lock to trap Nacho.

Nacho reverted to his original form—an ugly dwarf. He said in disbelief, "How can you be this strong?"

"Take a guess," Su Ze said, shrinking the perimeter of the Land Lock to restrict Nacho’s movements.

Resentment flickered in Nacho’s eyes. "I’m not your enemy! At the end of the day, I’m still part of the Human Race. We should be fighting those aliens together."

Su Ze wasn’t surprised that Nacho knew about the aliens.

He sneered. "Rely on you Filth to deal with aliens? By the time you have that kind of power, the Human Race will have already been wiped out by you."

Nacho tried to say more, but Su Ze wasn’t interested in talking. He stepped inside the Land Lock’s perimeter and reached for him.
