I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate

Chapter 612 - 355: Parasitic Pope (Part 2)

That was easier said than done. Actually achieving it was extremely difficult. Su Ze had relied on his Divine Grace of Evolution skill to snowball his power by constantly absorbing extracts from beings far beyond his level. He even possessed top-tier, body-strengthening skills like "Knowledge is Power," yet none of it had been enough to directly build his physique to the divine level.

Along his journey, he had also consumed and absorbed countless treasures to strengthen his physique. In the end, it was only by absorbing a massive amount of Silver-gray Energy that he broke through the final barrier.

One could only imagine how difficult it would be for other evolutionists to attain a divine-level physique while still at the Legendary rank.

And that was just for the physical body to reach the divine level. Ascending to godhood spiritually would certainly be no simpler.

The Pope, it was said, had already achieved a divine spirit by relying on faith. This was considered a shortcut; achieving it purely through self-improvement was far more difficult.

A sudden thought struck Su Ze, and he carefully sized up the Meat Mountain Pope.

’The Pope just said that as long as his two bodies merged, he could achieve perfect evolution. Could it be... has the Meat Mountain Pope already achieved a divine physique?’

’The one with the divine spirit is definitely this Sewn Monster Pope, the one that looks like a god of evolution. That means the one with the divine physique is undoubtedly the Meat Mountain Pope.’

’If these two bodies can truly merge, he’ll have actually managed to make both his spirit and his body divine.’

Seeing that the Pope had actually started chatting with Su Ze, the Nian Race experts following him hastily interrupted. "Su Ze, enough with the nonsense! Either submit to our Nian Race, or die!"

They all knew the Pope was an eccentric. In his eyes, no mission or order from the race was as important as his research.

Once he started talking about his research, there was no telling how long he’d continue.

They had gone to great trouble to get the Pope as reinforcement, and now they were desperate to instigate a fight between him and Su Ze.

Reminded by the people behind him, the Pope recalled the purpose of his visit.

"Either surrender and step aside, or I will capture you alive for my experiments. You’re an excellent test subject... Make your choice." The Pope issued his ultimatum to Su Ze.

"I’ll give you a choice as well. Either surrender and serve me—I do have some interest in that brain of yours—or I’ll take your brain, or perhaps imprison your soul, and study it at my leisure."

Su Ze was very interested in the knowledge of evolution stored inside the Pope’s mind.

Liou Wenxin, despite being a genius, was limited by Blue Star. The level of evolutionary knowledge she possessed was relatively low. The Pope was a different story.

The Pope’s tone was placid, as if he were merely stating an objective fact. "You are not my match. Not even with divine-grade artifacts."

"Then let’s put that to the test."

Done with the pleasantries, Su Ze immediately activated his strongest combat form.

The Sewn Monster Pope and the Meat Mountain Pope sprang into action, the two monstrosities flanking Su Ze from the left and right.

In terms of size, however, the two of them combined didn’t even measure up to one of Su Ze’s legs.

Using his "Expansion" skill, Su Ze could now transform into a giant five to six thousand meters tall. In comparison, the thousand-meter-plus Meat Mountain Pope looked like a mere infant.

Su Ze brought a fist down. He used no skills other than his Ant Power, his goal being to test whether the Pope’s mountain of flesh had truly reached the divine level.

The Meat Mountain Pope raised both hands above his head, bracing himself for Su Ze’s punch.

BOOM!

As the punch landed, the ground beneath them shattered. The Pope was hammered halfway into the earth by Su Ze’s blow.

The fat on his entire body quaked violently, and grease oozed from his pores, coating his pale, fleshy form in a layer of oil that glistened in the sun.

Clearly, the Pope had gotten the worst of that exchange.

But it also confirmed for Su Ze that the Meat Mountain Pope had indeed achieved a divine physique.

Otherwise, not even a physique at the Legendary Peak could have withstood that punch.

The Pope, however, was even more astonished. "Your physique has reached the divine level too!"

He couldn’t believe it. Su Ze’s physique had also reached the divine level, and it even seemed a little stronger than his own.

Just then, the Sewn Monster Pope at the side didn’t remain idle. It launched a spiritual attack at Su Ze.

A divine-grade spiritual attack!

’Sure enough, the Pope’s spirit and body have both ascended to godhood. It’s just that his divine spirit and divine physique are separate, not in a single entity.’

Su Ze’s massive form swayed, and he was instantly struck by a wave of Dizziness.

However, this wasn’t the first time he had endured a divine-grade spiritual attack. He had previously been hit by the spiritual attack from the Soul-Piercing Blowgun, another divine-grade artifact.

Moreover, the Sewn Monster Pope hadn’t mastered a divine-grade spiritual attack skill. It was merely using its divine-grade Spiritual Power in conjunction with a Tier-6 spiritual attack skill.

Its power was still a far cry from a true divine-grade spiritual attack.

Thanks to Su Ze’s Unyielding Will skill, the stronger his physique, the greater his resistance to spiritual attacks. As a result, this particular attack was even less of a threat to him than the Soul-Piercing Blowgun had been.

Thus, Su Ze quickly recovered from the Dizziness.

The Meat Mountain Pope, however, seized this opportunity to attack.

Having discovered that Su Ze had a divine physique and seemed unfazed by a divine-grade spiritual attack, the Pope had cast aside any trace of contempt.

He had originally assumed that Su Ze’s combat power was, at best, at the Legendary Peak, and that he merely possessed two or three divine-grade artifacts.

But now, it was clear that was not the case.

The Meat Mountain Pope’s blubber spread out and separated, splitting into countless chunks of flesh that latched onto Su Ze’s leg.

Like leeches, these chunks of flesh began to frantically drain and devour Su Ze’s liquid body.

After recovering his senses, Su Ze didn’t immediately deal with the chunks of flesh. Instead, he took out a rope—the divine-grade artifact, Land Lock!

WHOOSH!

The rope flew from his hand and drew a circle on the ground around the Sewn Monster Pope, instantly forming a prison and trapping it within.
