Chapter 611 - 355: Parasitic Pope

’The Pope has appeared?!’

Su Ze didn’t dare to delay and immediately rushed to the Divine Dice on Flame Emperor Continent, where Lin Tiannan was stationed.

After Lin Hua Continent was stabilized, Chen Suifeng had dispatched reinforcements to guard the three Divine Dice, but no amount of Venerable Powerhouses could possibly stop the Pope.

The Magic Cube arrived at its destination in an instant.

Su Ze flew out of the spaceship and immediately spotted the Pope.

To be precise, he saw two Popes.

One was an obese giant over a thousand meters tall, a veritable mountain of flesh that looked like a blown-up sumo wrestler.

The other was a man-beast monster, not particularly large at only five or six meters tall.

It had a human head and torso but no hands, only countless octopus-like tentacles. Its left leg was a massive, thick hoof from some unknown animal, while its right leg resembled the talon of a bird.

Its facial features also seemed to be a hodgepodge of different animals: the eyes of a fish, the trunk of an elephant, the ears of a cow, the mouth of a horse...

This was the very image of the super Frankenstein’s Monster, the God of Evolution.

However, the God of Evolution was a deity fabricated from the imagination, one that should not have a physical form in the real world.

Since it had appeared here, there was only one possibility: the Pope had transformed into it.

Su Ze didn’t know if the Pope had succeeded in his plan to achieve godhood through faith, but he had clearly molded himself into the image of the God of Evolution.

As for that mountain of flesh, it reminded Su Ze of the Pope’s "Blood and Flesh Parasite" skill.

The Pope had obtained this skill from a Mutated Tai Sui Beast. After continuous research and enhancement, it had grown increasingly powerful and perverse.

This skill had a unique characteristic: the more flesh one had, the stronger they became. The fatter, the more powerful.

Every piece of his flesh was "primal flesh" with parasitic capabilities.

That was why the Pope had built his own body into a mountain of flesh and researched the Silver-gray Energy that could strengthen one’s constitution and increase body mass.

Clearly, the Pope had split himself in two: one, a mountain of flesh, and the other, a monster in the image of the God of Evolution.

Lin Tiannan had contacted Su Ze the very moment he spotted the Pope, and Su Ze had arrived instantly. As a result, the two sides had yet to clash.

Not far behind the Pope trailed a group of Venerable Powerhouses. They were, for the most part, the missing powerhouses from Flame Emperor Continent and Snowfield Continent who had been on the list of suspects.

It was now obvious that these people had to be members of the Nian Race.

They were the ones who had found the Pope in hiding and brought him in as the cavalry.

"Su Ze, you are quite impressive. Surrender and join my Nian Race. I can plead your case to my clan’s upper echelons and spare you from death. I will also provide you with evolutionary resources to help you ascend to a higher state of being!" the Meat Mountain Pope said, his voice a muffled rumble.

The cascading folds of fat on his face obscured his features, hiding his eyes, nose, and mouth. It was as if the voice emanated from the depths of the flesh itself.

Su Ze smiled, ignoring the Pope’s recruitment pitch. Instead, he looked at the God of Evolution on the side and asked:

"So, which one of you is the real you? Did your plan to achieve godhood through faith succeed?"

When Su Ze brought up the topic he was proudest of and cared about most, the Meat Mountain Pope and the God of Evolution responded in unison: "Both of them are me. Once I merge these two bodies, I can achieve a perfect evolution into a god!"

He spoke with absolute conviction, as if one hundred percent certain that merging the two bodies was all it would take to achieve godhood.

"So, you’re saying you haven’t become a god yet?" Su Ze instantly relaxed.

’As long as the Pope hasn’t become a god, I have nothing to fear.’

"If it weren’t for you, I might have already succeeded."

Su Ze had collected a mountain of evidence and exposed the crimes of the Evolution Divine Teachings. This led to their expulsion from Lin Hua Continent, which in turn drastically reduced the power of faith the Pope could acquire.

He had also raided one of their strongholds, destroying the High-tier Mutated Fungus in the Mystical Mushroom Forest and plundering the Silver-gray Energy that the Evolution Divine Teachings had accumulated there for years.

These two incidents had disrupted the Pope’s tempo and delayed his progress toward achieving godhood.

"If you just wanted to become a god, it wouldn’t be this troublesome for you, would it?" Su Ze asked curiously.

’I don’t mind chatting with the Pope a bit more. It’d be nice to get some useful information.’

’In his past life, the Pope was basically a genius evolutionary scientist, and he even became a god. For a person like that, just wanting to become a god in this life shouldn’t be that hard.’

’Heck, if he’d been willing to focus on the mission from the Nian Race’s Mother Star and work with Jiang Pingle’s group to cultivate a god-tier human powerhouse, he might have succeeded long ago.’

’Once the mission was complete, he could return to the Nian Race’s Mother Star. With the resources they could provide, ascending to godhood would be a piece of cake for him.’

’So why bother fiddling around with some new path to godhood here?’

’This whole "godhood through faith" thing... he’s turned himself into some kind of monstrosity, and who knows if it’s even a reliable method.’

’Of course, you can’t judge a research genius like him by ordinary standards.’

’There’s a fine line between genius and madness.’

A look of contempt appeared on the face of the Sewn Monster Pope. "The godhood I seek is nothing like yours. Your so-called ’ascension’ is merely evolving your genes to the god level, then using those genes to pull your body and spirit along. What I desire is a perfect evolution—one where flesh, spirit, and genes achieve godhood all at once."

’Perfect evolution?’

It was the first time Su Ze had heard of this concept.

Still, he could roughly grasp the Pope’s meaning. It was simply a matter of having one’s physical body and spirit reach the god level *before* undertaking the seventh evolution.

As it happened, Su Ze’s own physical body had already reached the god level.
