I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 602 - 352: The Truth of the Inheritance
After learning that Blue Star was just one of the Human Race’s countless hideouts, a few ideas came to Su Ze’s mind.
He thought of his own home: Earth!
The Earth he remembered was almost identical to Blue Star before the dawn of the Era of Evolution—they hadn’t awakened evolutionary powers, they were developing technology, and they were all part of the Human Race...
’Could it be that Earth is also one of those hideouts?’
He thought it was highly likely.
’In that case, I probably didn’t travel to another world. Instead, did my soul just transmigrate from one planet to another?’
’Maybe in the future, I’ll even have a chance to return to Earth.’
Setting aside these pointless speculations for now, he focused his mind and continued to sort through the information in his head.
After a preliminary review of all the information, Su Ze finally learned the identities of the butterfly and its master.
The butterfly’s master was named Mr. Ao, a powerful being above the level of a Sun God. The butterfly itself was the Creation Dream Butterfly, Mr. Ao’s mount, and likewise an extraordinary beast that surpassed the Sun God level.
Powerhouses above the Sun God level were collectively referred to as Ancestral God-level life forms.
They were called this because, according to legend, the progenitors of the original ten thousand Intelligent Races existed at this level of life.
Of course, this referred to the progenitors of those ten thousand races before they experienced racial wars and before plundering began.
In other words, this was their initial level of life right after the Supreme Creator God had differentiated into ten thousand progenitors.
Later, through plundering, the progenitors of some races ascended even higher, surpassing the Ancestral God level.
What kind of level and realm that was, however, was beyond Su Ze’s comprehension.
However, understanding it through the lens of the creation myth, after becoming an Ancestral God or even surpassing that, the next step would surely be to evolve toward the Supreme Creator God.
To get back on topic, the Human Race had countless hideouts across the universe. Every so often, a human genius would emerge to venture out and explore the cosmos.
These intervals could be as short as thousands or tens of thousands of years, or as long as millions of years.
After all, perpetually hiding away would never produce truly powerful experts. To grow, one had to venture into the universe to fight and plunder.
When human geniuses ventured into the universe, the most crucial thing was to conceal their racial identity and not expose themselves as members of the Human Race.
Yet even if these geniuses hid themselves well, once they became truly powerful, they would inevitably come into contact with the great powers of other races. At that point, their identities became difficult to conceal; exposure was only a matter of time.
Mr. Ao, and the countless human geniuses before him, had all been exposed this way.
After Mr. Ao’s identity was exposed, he was relentlessly hunted. He fought his way through countless obstacles and broke out of the encirclement, but in the end, it was his mount, the Creation Dream Butterfly, that desperately escorted him, allowing him to shake off his pursuers. They fled across innumerable Star Realms, finally arriving near Blue Star.
The Creation Dream Butterfly’s combat prowess wasn’t exceptional, but it possessed two unique talents. The first was its unrivaled speed, making its self-preservation skills first-rate. The second was its ability to weave dreams so realistic they were indistinguishable from reality; to a certain extent, the dreams it wove could even connect with the real world.
Mr. Ya’s "Void" skill came directly from the Creation Dream Butterfly; it could be said he inherited half of its legacy.
Although the Creation Dream Butterfly managed to get Mr. Ao away from his pursuers, both man and butterfly were grievously wounded and on the brink of death. It was clear they wouldn’t survive.
The fall of countless human geniuses over hundreds of millions of years had allowed them to accumulate a wealth of experience. Every genius knew exactly what to do before they died.
They had a standardized procedure.
First, they would find the nearest planet inhabited by the Human Race—one of the "hideouts." The Human Race had cast such a wide net over the years that they could guarantee at least one hideout existed within a one-hundred-Star-Realm radius, even in the most remote corners of the universe.
Second, they would use their remaining power to reawaken the evolutionary force of that planet.
And finally, they would leave behind their legacy...
The purpose of this standardized procedure was to ensure the efforts of every generation of human geniuses were not wasted, and to give future geniuses a higher starting point.
This procedure was the culmination of hundreds of millions of years of experience, learned through the fall of countless geniuses and innumerable bitter losses.
And it was precisely this procedure that allowed each new generation of human geniuses to start from a higher position and reach ever greater heights.
At this point, Su Ze finally understood what was most precious about the legacy!
No wonder the Creation Dream Butterfly had dared to claim that even a complete nobody could soar after receiving the legacy.
It hadn’t been bluffing, but there was one prerequisite: that "nobody" had to first evolve to the god level.
Once at the god level, one could plunder the Origin Genes of other races to strengthen themselves, but they also became a target to be plundered in turn.
It was just like starting a business—accumulating the initial capital is the hardest part. For a newly-ascended god, whose power was still feeble, trying to plunder others came with enormous risks.
But this legacy contained the Origin Genes of other races that Mr. Ao had plundered over his ten thousand years of journeying through the universe!
If Origin Genes could be plundered and absorbed by other races, they could naturally be passed down as an inheritance as well.
Mr. Ao hadn’t passed down the Origin Genes of his own race. If he had, and Su Ze absorbed them, Su Ze would become one of the "Tainted," stained by a foul stench.
However, all the plundered Origin Genes from other races were left behind by Mr. Ao in the legacy.
This meant that as soon as Su Ze reached the god level, he could immediately absorb a massive amount of Origin Genes from other races to strengthen himself.
This essentially helped Su Ze get through the most difficult "start-up phase," giving him an incredibly high starting point.
Of course, the Origin Genes from other races left by Mr. Ao were not meant for Su Ze to absorb all at once. After all, Mr. Ao was an Ancestral God-level being. It would be impossible for Su Ze to absorb all those Origin Genes in one go and directly ascend to the Ancestral God level.
