I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate

Chapter 576 - 343: Completing the Puzzle (Part 2)

Baliss knew it was risky to come here, so he had hidden the puzzle piece in advance.

Su Ze had tried everything—persuasion and coercion, threats and bribes—but the man was simply impervious.

The Charming Fox Tail was only a tier-four Mind Control Wonder; it couldn’t affect the Supreme-level Baliss.

Although Su Ze’s Spiritual Power was stronger than Baliss’s, without a corresponding skill, he couldn’t use mental pressure alone to force Baliss to tell the truth.

"You must know it wouldn’t be too hard for me to make you talk, don’t you?" Su Ze’s expression grew cold.

"Not hard at all," Baliss sneered. "You just need to find a Legendary-level spiritual expert or a tier-six Mind Control Wonder, and I’ll gladly tell you everything."

’He didn’t believe Su Ze could do it.’

On Blue Star, there were only about ten Legendary experts in total, and it wasn’t even certain if any of them were spiritual-type.

As for a tier-six Mind Control Wonder, that was extremely rare—not necessarily any easier to find than a spiritual-type Legendary expert.

Su Ze shook his head. "Have you ever heard of parasitic skills?"

Baliss’s expression flickered, but he quickly composed himself. "Trying to scare me? I’ve never heard of a parasitic skill capable of infesting someone at the Supreme level."

"That only proves your ignorance. The Pope’s Blood and Flesh Parasite skill can parasitize even Legendary experts, let alone a Supreme like you."

"So what? You’re not the Pope. Don’t tell me you have a skill like that too!" Baliss sneered. "I don’t know who you are, but I’m telling you, even if you kill me, I will never tell you where the puzzle piece is. You’d be better off getting on your knees and begging—"

Before he could finish, his voice came to an abrupt halt.

Because Su Ze had granted his wish, ripping his head clean off his shoulders.

Baliss’s eyes widened, as if he couldn’t believe Su Ze would do this to him.

’How dare he?’

’If I die, where will he find that puzzle piece?’

Even with his head severed from his body, Baliss didn’t die instantly. His consciousness lingered, his spirit not yet extinguished.

Su Ze took out the Soul Nourishing Jade Stone. Before making his move, he had already used his Spiritual Power to communicate with Mu Wang, asking if he could read Baliss’s memories.

Mu Wang was currently very weak, but he had, after all, once been a Moon God-level expert and was now parasitizing the soul of a Sun God-level expert.

In response, Mu Wang offered two solutions.

The first was to directly feed Baliss’s soul to him. This had two downsides. First, he wouldn’t be able to obtain all of Baliss’s memories, only a portion of them.

If he got unlucky and the readable memories didn’t include the puzzle’s location, it would be a problem.

Secondly, devouring Baliss’s soul would cause the Sun God’s soul to recover faster and awaken sooner, but this wasn’t a major issue; it could be counteracted by using a bit more soul-damaging poison.

The second option was to have Mu Wang’s consciousness possess Baliss’s soul. This way, he could receive all of Baliss’s memories.

But Mu Wang’s current Consciousness Body was extremely weak, making possession difficult. He would need Su Ze’s help.

Furthermore, Mu Wang himself was conflicted. Once he possessed Baliss, it would mean abandoning the Sun God’s soul he currently inhabited.

Giving up a Sun God’s soul for a Supreme-level one was like trading a grand manor for a thatched hut.

The upside was that he would no longer face the threat of being devoured by the Sun God Consciousness.

Mu Wang found it hard to choose. Once he left the Sun God’s soul, it wouldn’t be easy to return. As long as he could wear down the Sun God’s consciousness, staying in the Sun God’s soul was obviously the more promising path.

For Su Ze, the second option required releasing Mu Wang’s consciousness from the Soul Nourishing Jade Stone, and he had some reservations about that.

But feeding Baliss’s soul directly to Mu Wang carried the risk of losing information.

Just as he was hesitating over which plan to choose, Baliss’s weak consciousness unexpectedly sent a mental message to Su Ze: "I’ll talk! I beg you, don’t kill me!"

’Huh?’

’He’s giving in already?’

’He was acting so tough just a moment ago. I thought he had more of a backbone.’

"Speak," Su Ze sent back mentally.

"Then you have to promise not to kill me."

"Fine. I won’t kill you."

"The puzzle piece is at..."

Baliss revealed the location of the puzzle piece.

The Magic Cube instantly arrived at the location Baliss had mentioned.

Su Ze extended his Perception Tentacles and quickly found the fourth puzzle piece deep underground below.

He felt a surge of excitement. The four puzzle pieces—he had finally collected them all!

Mr. Ya went deep underground and retrieved the fourth puzzle piece for Su Ze.

This puzzle piece had once been split into three, but now it looked whole, without any trace of being pieced together.

After getting the puzzle piece, Su Ze directly pulled out Baliss’s weak spiritual body—that is, his soul—and sent it into the Soul Nourishing Jade Stone.

He was a man of his word. He had promised not to kill Baliss, so he would absolutely not do it himself.

But if Baliss was eaten by Mu Wang, that had nothing to do with him.

Tossing Baliss’s head into the confinement chamber with his body, Su Ze locked the door.

If all went as expected, a Divine Blood Crystal would soon precipitate from Baliss’s body.

Su Ze had Mr. Ya pilot the ship back to Inheritance Point No. 4, while he himself took out the four puzzle pieces and fitted them together.

The four puzzle pieces fit together to form a pattern that was both simple and complex. It seemed to be the shape of a person, surrounded by various abstract designs of unknown meaning.

’Are they clouds? Or stars?’

Su Ze shook his head, not dwelling on it any longer.

His sole focus now was on opening the internal inheritance.

By the time the ship returned to the airspace above Inheritance Point No. 4, two more people had appeared.
