I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 1030 - 494: The Heavenly Thunder That Devours Everything

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

The core of the light ball devoured a massive amount of Magic Power, ultimately forming six head-sized orbs of light. They slowly revolved around Gauss, like planets orbiting a star.

Gauss deactivated Future Sight and glanced at the six light orbs beside him. Judging solely by size, this 6th Ring Spell was even less impressive than many 0th Ring Tricks. However, the terrifying destructive energy concealed within them was something that thousands of Tricks could never match.

As the Caster, he knew their terrifying nature best. Although these six light orbs were currently attribute-less, with a mere thought, they could be transformed into any Attribute Attack he needed at any moment—whether it was heavenly lightning that destroyed everything, thousands of degrees of crimson flames, or a powerful acid capable of instantly eroding a small hill...

Even though he hadn’t launched any attacks yet, the numerous monsters beneath him were already struggling to walk under the oppressive weight of his powerful aura. Especially the goblins; some of the weaker ones had outright collapsed on the ground, constantly frothing white foam at the mouth.

When facing monsters, the Spells he released often displayed power far exceeding their original potential. This 6th Ring Spell, Splendid Light Ball, was no exception. The Splendid Light Ball cast from his hands was far more than a simple 6th Ring Spell. With numerous buffs, even ordinary 7th Ring Spells cast by other Extraordinary Casters couldn’t hold a candle to its might when used against goblins.

Snaz, who had been sprinting madly, suddenly found Gauss flying right in front of it. Just as it prepared to change course, six breathtakingly powerful light orbs materialized around Gauss in the very next moment. The goblin’s heart skipped a beat. Instinct warned it that those six light orbs were incredibly dangerous, especially in its currently weakened state.

"Damn it!" It inwardly cursed the human’s cunning. He clearly had such a trump card, yet he had deliberately hidden his true strength at the beginning of the battle, only revealing it after its own strength had plummeted by more than half.

It didn’t know that shortly before the war broke out, Gauss had been frantically studying his Spellbook in his tent. If it had known, its mental state would probably have collapsed entirely.

Looking at Gauss hovering ahead, blocking its path with a cold face that fully revealed his killing intent, Snaz’s mood plummeted to rock bottom.

"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!"

It quickly glanced in the direction of the other three generals of the Green Dragon Army. They were extremely far from its current position. This was because the defending human army, leveraging their geographical advantage, was relatively more concentrated and powerful. The goblin army had to disperse their forces to various locations in order to defeat the humans one by one as quickly as possible. Therefore, not only was it impossible for its colleagues to come to its aid anytime soon, but it was also entirely unrealistic for it to flee to their position for help while being intercepted by this utterly despicable human.

For a moment, the figure of less than two meters in front of it seemed as imposing as a towering mountain, exerting an airtight, suffocating pressure upon it.

"No! I have to survive!" it resolved.

As despair and anxiety crept in, Snaz simultaneously erupted with an intense will to fight. Throughout its life, it had endured countless hardships and waded through mountains of corpses and seas of blood to ascend from a lowly goblin to its current status as a level-15 peak Extraordinary Demon. In the vast territory of the Jade Forest, it stood below only one dragon and above ten thousand beasts.

It had fought tens of thousands of battles, big and small. There were even a few times when it faced other monsters and nearly became their next meal. Yet, in the end, it was always the one who survived. When facing powerful enemies, there were times when it unleashed its full potential to kill them, and times when it fled for its life in defeat, only to return stronger and slaughter its foes. Victory after victory had solidified its immense self-confidence.

THUMP!

THUMP!

It could hear its own heartbeat. It forced itself to calm down.

Since Gauss had cut off its path, it didn’t blindly force its way forward. It did entertain the idea of taking other humans hostage to keep Gauss in check, but that would bring an even greater crisis. After all, that would mean venturing deeper into human territory, making its escape far more difficult. Furthermore, Gauss would become even stronger with the geographical advantage. If he completely ignored the casualties of the other humans and focused solely on dealing with it, its situation would be far worse. Not to mention, Gauss currently had no intention of letting it pass. Before it could even reach the city walls, he would likely seize the opportunity to inflict heavy injuries halfway there.

As for regrouping with the other Extraordinary Goblin to fight Gauss together, it had no such intentions. It understood all too well what kind of despicable creatures its own race, the goblins, truly were—especially those powerful ones who had clawed their way up from the bottom. When it was strong, they would be as obedient as a pack of puppies, but the moment it lost its power, they would instantly prioritize their own survival and interests. If its subordinates realized that their leader was no match for the opponent, they would do everything possible to avoid its battlefield just to save their own skin.

Of course, there was absolutely nothing wrong with this mindset. After all, if Gauss shifted his target to its subordinates, it would also find a way to use that opportunity to escape.

THUMP!

After a brief moment of thought, the Goblin Lord Snaz abandoned its original plan, turning around to flee in the opposite direction. Perhaps due to regaining its composure, its control over the black light that enhanced its physical strength grew stronger, slightly boosting its speed as well.
