Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Try To Drag Qiao Meixia Out

Qiao Meixia was deliberately calculating how to weave those architectural nuances into her composition so that the final canvas would organically echo the ambient energy of Jiang Suhan’s office.

Just as she became deeply immersed in her drafting, the heavy double doors of the office swung open.

Qiao Meixia glanced up expectantly, assuming Jiang Suhan had finally concluded his shareholder conference and returned to his suite.

To her disappointment, it was not him.

Instead, a sharp, professionally dressed woman strode into the room. The moment the intruder spotted an unfamiliar civilian lounging on the director’s private sofa, her face contorted into an aggressive scowl. She clearly had not anticipated stumbling upon an unauthorised outsider inside a restricted zone where only cleared executive personnel were ever permitted to set foot.

"Who do you think you are? What are you doing sitting in here? And exactly how did you manage to sneak past security into Director Jiang’s private office?" The woman snapped, firing off a rapid barrage of hostile demands without allowing Qiao Meixia a single second to reply.

Qiao Meixia simply stared at the aggressive intruder, her expression remaining entirely unmoved, though a faint flicker of quiet bewilderment crossed her dark eyes.

’Why on earth is this strange woman marching into my older brother’s office without even bothering to knock? More importantly, why is she cross-examining me as if I have committed a crime?’ Qiao Meixia thought.

Choosing absolute indifference, Qiao Meixia simply observed her performance in total silence.

Her refusal to cower or answer only stoked the woman’s irritation further. Deciding to take matters into her own hands, she marched aggressively toward the sofa, clearly intending to physically yank the girl up and drag her out of the room by force.

However, before her outstretched fingers could even brush the fabric of Qiao Meixia’s sleeve, an arctic voice cracked from the doorway.

"What do you think you’re doing?"

The woman froze mid-stride, paralysed as though struck by lightning.

Whirling around frantically, she found Jiang Suhan standing rigidly on the threshold, flanked by his personal executive secretary. Her composure evaporated instantly as the terrifying realisation struck her that the director had walked in at the absolute worst possible microsecond.

Panic flared in her chest, but her survival instincts kicked in immediately. Rather than confessing to the unmitigated disaster of breaking into the office uninvited and attempting to manhandle a VIP guest, she chose to pivot and throw the full weight of the blame directly onto Qiao Meixia.

"Director Jiang! Thank goodness you are here. I caught this suspicious intruder sneaking into your private suite! I was just in the middle of escorting her out for security reasons." The woman declared with feigned righteousness, thrusting an accusing finger directly at Qiao Meixia as if she had just apprehended a dangerous corporate saboteur red-handed.

Standing just behind his boss, Jiang Suhan’s executive secretary stared at the woman as though she were a clinically lobotomized idiot who had willingly flushed her entire cognitive function down the drain.

He found it genuinely staggering that she possessed the unmitigated audacity to fabricate such a transparent, insulting lie, especially when he was the one who had physically escorted Qiao Meixia past the security gates and directly into this exact room under direct orders from the director himself.

Did this woman honestly believe everyone else in the corporation was completely blind and lacking basic memory?

"And just who, precisely, are you?" Jiang Suhan asked, his voice dropping several sub-zero degrees as he pinned the woman with a blistering, unrecognizing stare.

"I—I am an administrative coordinator assigned to the general Secretarial Department. My name is Shen Lin Ya." The woman stammered, frantically pasting on an overly sweet, ingratiating smile in a desperate attempt to salvage a shred of favour with the company president.

Unfortunately for her, Jiang Suhan remained entirely unimpressed by her theatrics.

"So, you are merely a low-level administrative clerk? Then perhaps you can explain what business a clerk has barging uninvited into my private office." Jiang Suhan demanded coldly, his eyes narrowing into dangerous slits.

"I... um... well..." Shen Lin Ya stuttered, completely sideswiped by his refusal to play along with her script.

She had not anticipated that Jiang Suhan would bypass her false narrative entirely and interrogate her presence instead.

"Oh! I just happened to notice this unauthorised girl wandering suspiciously near your desk, so I rushed inside out of sheer loyalty to protect company assets!" Shen Lin Ya pivoted wildly, spinning yet another desperate excuse. Then, as a malicious spark of inspiration hit her, she added, "Director Jiang, there is a high probability this trespasser came here to steal confidential corporate intelligence!"

Having completely botched her initial defence, Shen Lin Ya doubled down on her slander, desperately hoping that Jiang Suhan’s protective instincts over company trade secrets would cloud his judgment and blind him to her own protocol violations.

At that point, Jiang Suhan’s secretary finally reached his absolute limit. He stepped forward aggressively, cutting off her toxic stream of lies before she could dig her grave any deeper.

"Miss Shen Lin Ya, let me refresh your memory. I personally escorted Miss Qiao straight into Director Jiang’s private office less than ten minutes ago per the director’s explicit instructions." The secretary stated, his voice ringing with absolute authority as he glared at her with undisguised contempt. "Dozens of department employees watched me guide Miss Qiao through the open-plan floor. Exactly how on earth do you have the sheer nerve to stand there and claim she sneaked in?"

He had personally walked the young lady up through the secure executive lift. How could this delusional clerk stand right in front of him and accuse her of trespassing?
