I Am Already A Queen
Chapter 133: Nothing Improper
Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Nothing Improper
"I really did not mean it in a bad way!" Jiang Yanna began sobbing hysterically all over again.
"Then explain it clearly! What did you mean by blurting out something so utterly outrageous?" Jiang Suhan shouted, his deep voice resounding through the room.
Jiang Yanna remained completely silent, burying her tear-streaked face deeper into Feng Lan’s embrace and crying uncontrollably.
Qiao Meixia, who had been standing silently beside her desk this entire time, finally lost what little patience she had left. She cast a cool, disinterested glance at Jiang Yanna.
"She already knows precisely what she meant." Qiao Meixia stated flatly.
Everyone in the room instantly turned their attention to Qiao Meixia. Her expression remained completely indifferent, as if the dramatic storm in the room had nothing to do with her.
"She was trying to insinuate that he and I are involved in an incestuous relationship." Qiao Meixia said, casually laying out the ugly truth that Jiang Yanna had tried so hard to hide behind her tears. "If she had not intended to imply something so disgusting, those words would have never crossed her mind in the first place."
"Meixia!" Feng Lan immediately snapped, her eyes wide with outrage. "Enough of you! Yanna is already deeply upset, yet you continue to maliciously provoke her!"
"Provoke her? I had not done a single thing," Qiao Meixia responded coolly, not flinching in the slightest.
"You always say that!" Feng Lan’s voice rose to a shrill pitch. "Ever since you were brought back into this house, there has been one endless problem after another! You caused Chinan to get severely punished, you constantly make Yanna feel uncomfortable in her own home, and now you have even dragged Suhan into your mess!"
"Mom!" Jiang Suhan’s entire face turned frighteningly cold.
"What?" Feng Lan turned to him, startled.
"Stop blaming Qiaoqiao for things she did not do!" Jiang Suhan’s voice thundered across the room.
Feng Lan froze instantly in sheer shock. Jiang Suhan had rarely raised his voice at her in his entire life. Even on the rare occasions when he disagreed with her decisions, he always maintained a calm, polite composure. But this time, his tone was unmistakably harsh, cold, and brimming with deep resentment.
"Jiang Suhan! Watch your tongue and do not be rude to your mother!" Jiang Lukang finally asserted his authority, stepping forward with a heavy scowl.
Jiang Suhan completely ignored his father’s warning, keeping his burning eyes locked straight on his mother.
"You did not even bother asking what actually happened before throwing the blame onto Qiaoqiao." Jiang Suhan stated, his voice trembling with contained anger.
"I saw Yanna crying hysterically with my own eyes!" Feng Lan retorted defensively.
"And you immediately assumed Qiaoqiao was the villain responsible for her tears." Jiang Suhan looked at his mother, his gaze filled with raw disappointment. "Do you truly believe that is fair to your biological daughter?"
Feng Lan opened her mouth to argue, but under his piercing, disappointed gaze, no words came out.
"But... Yanna would never burst into tears without a valid reason." Feng Lan finally mumbled, her confidence faltering.
"I know that." Jiang Suhan agreed with a sharp nod. "That is precisely why I am demanding that she state that reason clearly for all of us to hear."
His heavy gaze shifted right back to the shivering girl in his mother’s arms. "Yanna, if we actually did something wrong to you, speak up and say it right now."
"I..." Yanna’s white knuckles tightened desperately around the hem of her clothes. She bowed her head as low as it could go, unable to meet anyone’s eyes. "I am sorry..."
"Sorry for what?" Jiang Suhan pressed mercilessly.
"I’m sorry for misunderstanding the situation." Jiang Yanna’s voice was barely a whisper, frail and trembling with humiliation. "I should never have said something so thoughtless..."
"Qiaoqiao is my biological sister. There is absolutely nothing improper about me stepping into her room to hand her a gift and talk." Jiang Suhan reminded her coldly, emphasising every single word.
Jiang Yanna secretly gritted her teeth in bitter rage the moment the words ’biological sister’ hit her ears, her fingernails digging deep into her palms.
Qiao Meixia let out a quiet, tired sigh. She was thoroughly exhausted by this absurd family drama.
"Since the misunderstanding has been cleared up, let’s just forget about this entire matter and head back to our rooms." Jiang Lukang chimed in, eager to end the uncomfortable scene.
One by one, everyone began filing out of Qiao Meixia’s bedroom. Before Jiang Suhan stepped across the threshold, he paused, turned back toward Qiao Meixia, and his harsh demeanour instantly softened.
"Good night, Qiaoqiao. Have sweet dreams." Jiang Suhan said softly, reaching out to give her head a gentle, protective pat.
"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia gave a small nod.
Once the door was finally closed, she did not waste a single second thinking about the ridiculous spectacle that had just taken place. Crawling straight into her warm bed, she closed her eyes and immediately drifted off to sleep.
....
The next morning, after going for a crisp one-hour jog, Qiao Meixia returned to her private room. She took a quick, refreshing shower and changed into her crisp school uniform before making her way downstairs.
Butler Jun immediately noticed her descent. He noted mentally that Qiao Meixia had begun waking up significantly earlier compared to her schedule last week.
"Good morning, Young Miss Meixia. Would you like to have your breakfast right away?" Butler Jun asked politely.
"Is breakfast already prepared at this early hour?" Qiao Meixia inquired.
Given how early it still was, Qiao Meixia had not expected the morning meal to be ready just yet. She had assumed she would simply head to school ahead of time and wait for her private cake order to arrive.
"Yes, Young Miss. Since you have been waking up much earlier recently, we adjusted our kitchen preparation schedule accordingly." Butler Jun explained smoothly.
"There really is no need to go to such trouble for me." Qiao Meixia said quietly.
"It is no trouble at all, Young Miss Meixia. Please, take a seat in the dining room. I will personally serve your meal in just a moment." Butler Jun insisted, swiftly turning to disappear toward the kitchen.
Since Butler Jun was so adamant, Qiao Meixia walked over to the quiet dining room and took a seat. In less than three minutes, Butler Jun reappeared carrying a silver serving tray. Seeing that Qiao Meixia was comfortably seated, he approached her table. He set the tray down and carefully arranged the hot dishes right in front of her.
Truth be told, it had been a long time since Butler Jun personally served a family member’s meal himself, as he typically delegated such routine tasks to the junior household staff. However, after witnessing the questionable attitudes and subtle slights some servants displayed toward Qiao Meixia, he did not dare entrust her care to just anyone. He wanted to ensure that every single item prepared for her was executed with absolute perfection.
"Young Miss Meixia, please enjoy your breakfast." Butler Jun said with a respectful bow.
"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia responded softly, picking up her wooden chopsticks.
"Once you are finished, you may simply leave the empty dishes at the table. A maid will come by to clear them away." Butler Jun added gently before taking his leave.
Qiao Meixia began to eat. The food was undeniably exquisite. She ate in quiet tranquility, enjoying every bite without rushing. Because she had risen earlier than usual, time was entirely on her side. After polishing off her meal, she followed Butler Jun’s instructions and left the empty dishes on the polished dining table.
She stood up, exited the mansion, and headed straight into the underground garage. Slipping on her helmet, she ignited the powerful engine of her superbike and rode off into the morning cool. The deep rumble of the exhaust echoed through the subterranean parking bay before gradually fading away into the distance as she sped past the main gates of the Jiang Family residence.
It did not take long for her to arrive at school.
Qiao Meixia parked her superbike in her designated spot and walked directly toward her favorite secluded vending machine area.
Just as she expected, Shen Huiling and Xu Chanping were already on-site, carefully unloading yesterday’s leftover baked goods from the glass display and restocking the shelves with freshly baked treats.
Shen Huiling instantly caught sight of Qiao Meixia approaching.
"Good morning, sweetheart!" Shen Huiling greeted her with a warm, beaming smile.
Qiao Meixia acknowledged the greeting with a faint, polite nod. Her clear eyes immediately gravitated toward the carefully wrapped bakery packages resting on the workbench alongside Shen Huiling and Xu Chanping’s gear.
