Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Accusing Jiang Suhan and Qiao Meixia Of Filthy Relationship

Realising she had reacted too aggressively and exposed her hostility, Jiang Yanna quickly attempted to pivot.

"No... that’s not what I meant at all!" Jiang Yanna stammered, putting on an anxious facade. "It’s just... it does not look good if the servants or outsiders happen to see the two of you locked in a bedroom together."

Jiang Suhan’s frown deepened into a harsh scowl, his aura turning ice-cold.

"Exactly what are you trying to imply?" Jiang Suhan’s voice dropped into a terrifying, authoritative register. "Are you standing there insinuating that my sister and I are engaging in something disgusting and improper?"

Jiang Yanna’s face instantly drained of all color under his scathing gaze.

"What is going on in here?" Jiang Lukang happened to be passing through the hallway when Jiang Suhan’s raised, furious voice caught his attention.

He immediately redirected his steps toward the open door to investigate the commotion.

"Dad..." Jiang Yanna’s eyes instantly welled with heavy tears, her lower lip trembling pathetically as she looked toward her father.

"What is all this noise about?" Jiang Lukang asked, looking between Jiang Suhan and Qiao Meixia with a stern, deeply confused frown.

"Yanna seems to have formed the impression that Meixia and I were conducting something unspeakably filthy in this room." Jiang Suhan stated bluntly, refusing to sugarcoat her insinuation.

"What on earth does that mean?!" Jiang Lukang demanded, looking even more bewildered.

"You should ask your precious daughter yourself." Jiang Suhan replied frostily.

"I did not mean anything malicious by it! Please forgive me... I was wrong!" Instead of offering a clear, coherent explanation, Jiang Yanna buried her face in her hands and burst into soft, dramatic sobs.

Seeing his favourite daughter breaking down in tears, Jiang Lukang felt an immediate pang of heart-wrenching sympathy. He rushed to her side, wrapping a protective arm around her shoulders.

"There, there... It’s alright, don’t cry." Jiang Lukang cooed gently, tenderly patting her head.

Hearing the hysterical crying, Feng Lan hurried down the hallway to join them. The moment her eyes landed on her weeping daughter, her maternal instinct flared into instant rage, and she automatically placed the blame squarely on Qiao Meixia’s shoulders.

"Yanna... my sweet girl! Why are you crying like this? Who hurt you?!" Feng Lan cried out, her heart aching for her daughter. Then, turning a venomous, glaring gaze directly onto Qiao Meixia, she snapped aggressively, "This is your doing again, isn’t it?! Why do you insist on tormenting my daughter like this? Why must you constantly drive her to tears?!"

Qiao Meixia watched the frantic spectacle with an entirely blank, emotionless expression. She genuinely could not comprehend the internal logic of Feng Lan’s brain. A part of her wondered if it would be medically fascinating to slice it open and examine the neural pathways inside. That seemed like the only plausible way to understand how a person could leap to such wildly illogical conclusions without bothering to ask a single question first.

Jiang Suhan’s scowl darkened significantly as he listened to his mother blindly accuse Qiao Meixia without knowing a single fraction of the truth.

"Mom." Jiang Suhan cut in, his tone sharp and freezing cold.

Feng Lan turned her head toward him, startled slightly. "What?"

"You ought to ascertain what actually transpired before casting wild accusations at Meixia." Jiang Yanna said firmly.

"Why should I ask?! Isn’t it completely obvious that Yanna is weeping because of her?" Feng Lan argued indignantly.

"How on earth is that obvious to you?" Jiang Suhan’s eyes turned razor-sharp. "Did you bother asking Yanna a single word about what actually took place here?"

Feng Lan opened her mouth to snap back, but no coherent argument came out.

Turning his sharp gaze back onto his trembling sister, Jiang Suhan commanded, "Yanna, explain to Mom and Dad exactly what you said to me just now."

Jiang Yanna lowered her head even further, remaining completely silent as tears trickled down her cheeks. Her defensive silence only served to solidify Feng Lan’s warped conviction that Qiao Meixia had somehow terrified the girl into submission.

"Look at her! She is so thoroughly traumatised she can’t even bring herself to speak!" Feng Lan immediately rounded on Qiao Meixia again, her tone full of righteous indignation. "Meixia, no matter what grievances you hold, we brought you home and introduced you as her twin sister so everyone could get along! Why must you make it completely impossible to coexist peacefully with her?!"

Qiao Meixia blinked slowly. She looked at Feng Lan’s hysterical expression, then shifted her gaze to Jiang Yanna’s bowed head, and finally looked at Jiang Suhan’s dark scowl. She genuinely found it fascinating how she had been cast as the cruel, heartless villain of this entire scene. She had not uttered a single aggressive word. She had not raised a hand. She had not even engaged in the argument. Yet, somehow, she was convicted as the sole perpetrator.

Without a word, Qiao Meixia calmly stepped forward and placed the paper bag Jiang Suhan had given her onto the wooden tabletop.

"Ask her." Qiao Meixia stated, her voice smooth, flat, and completely devoid of emotion.

"What?" Feng Lan’s brows knit together.

"Ask her directly what she said when she walked through that door." Qiao Meixia repeated, her clear eyes locking straight onto Jiang Yanna’s guilty posture. "She knows precisely what came out of her own mouth."

Jiang Yanna’s entire body visibly stiffened at the direct callout.

Jiang Suhan caught that subtle, telltale tremor immediately, his eyes narrowing into dangerous slits. It was abundantly clear to him now that there was far more calculating malice behind Jiang Yanna’s sudden outburst than he had initially assumed.

Jiang Suhan narrowed his eyes slightly as he stared intently at Jiang Yanna. She was clearly hiding something behind that fragile facade, yet she refused to speak a word of truth. Instead, she continued to sob quietly into Feng Lan’s shoulder while Feng Lan stood right beside her, softly stroking her back and comforting her as if she were the ultimate victim.

"Yanna, tell Dad and Mom what exactly happened here just now." Jiang Suhan pressed once again, his tone sharp and uncompromising.

"I..." Jiang Yanna hesitated, dragging the sound out pathetically.

Her eyes flickered toward Qiao Meixia for a split second before she quickly looked down at the floor again, acting as if she were deeply terrified of her.

Qiao Meixia caught that dramatic little reaction and calmly crossed her arms over her chest. She was genuinely curious to see how much longer this girl could keep up such a cheap, calculated performance.

"I did not mean anything bad by it." Jiang Yanna finally spoke up, her voice trembling with forced vulnerability. "I just... I was simply worried that someone might misunderstand if they saw Eldest Brother staying inside Sister Meixia’s room alone with the door closed."

"Misunderstand what, exactly?" Jiang Suhan asked coldly, stepping closer. "You know the household rules better than anyone. At night, the servants are strictly forbidden from coming up to the family’s residential floor unless summoned. Not to mention, the door was not even closed."

"I..." Yanna bit her lower lip nervously, clutching at her clothes.

Seeing her precious daughter cowering like this, Feng Lan felt her heart ache and immediately pulled the girl tighter into her arms.

"Forget it. You don’t have to explain yourself if you don’t want to, sweetheart." Feng Lan said gently, giving her a reassuring pat. "Your mother completely understands your pure intentions."

Jiang Suhan’s expression darkened into a stormy scowl. His mother was always like this, blindly eager to protect Jiang Yanna at all costs, even when she did not have the slightest clue about the full situation.

"Then why did you come over here and aggressively question me in the first place?" Jiang Suhan demanded, refusing to let the matter slide.

"Suhan, Yanna was only acting out of genuine concern for your personal reputation." Feng Lan interjected with a frown.

"My reputation?" Jiang Suhan repeated the words. He almost let out a cynical laugh in utter disbelief. "She marched in here, demanded to know what I was doing in Qiaoqiao’s room, and then insinuated that it would not look good if someone saw us. When I confronted her and asked what she was trying to imply, she immediately turned on the waterworks."

Jiang Suhan turned his sharp, icy gaze back onto Jiang Yanna. "Tell me, what exactly did you think I was doing in here with my own sister?"

"Eldest Brother, I swear I did not think anything like that..." Jiang Yanna shook her head frantically, her face turning pale as paper.

"Then what on earth did you think?" Jiang Suhan pressed again, his patience wearing razor-thin.
