Chapter 41 - Sad And Lonely
Klein Seymour wiped his cold sweat at Albion's humorless joke. He wore a forced smile and said, "Please don't joke like that, Young Master Albion. I already have one troublesome daughter who threatens to join those terrorists. Please don't add to my worries."
"Oh? Is it your second daughter Anya? Why's that? Asked Albion with curiosity.
"You've guessed it, but—Haiz, never mind that."
Klein Seymour nodded with a helpless look, unwilling to delve into the matter.
Albion smiled lightly. Since Mr. Klein was unwilling to share, he did not intend to pry into their personal family matters.
"It will be troublesome if we catch the world government's eyes. It will be hard to avoid rumors, and the family's business might be affected because of it. More importantly, the evolved interdimensional creatures are not as you would imagine them to be. These evolved creatures possess meager intelligence and exhibit very feral behaviors."
Klein Seymour continued to explain before getting thirsty again. After sipping some tea to clench his thirst, he checked the time on his watch before gasping in surprise.
"Oh my, it's already midnight. It is getting quite late, isn't it? How about staying here for the night, Young Master Albion? There's a spare room you can use, and I will be able to show you to your new home tomorrow." Klein Seymour offered.
Albion pondered for a brief moment before he nodded, "Alright, if you insist. However, you don't happen to have a spare laptop or tablet with WIFI that I can also use to surf the internet, do you?"
"Actually, I do have a spare tablet you can use. Let me show you to your room first, then I will go fetch it for you, Young Master Albion."
"Thanks a lot."
"No problem. It's my pleasure to help." Klein Seymour said, full of smiles. He also had a laptop, but it was used for business purposes and contained much confidential information.
After showing Albion to his room downstairs, which also happened to be next to the bathroom, Klein Seymour quickly went to fetch the electronic tablet.
He returned moments later and passed it to Albion, "I probably shouldn't need to mention this, but try not to stay up too late. It is not good for your mental health, Young Master Albion."
"Got it."
Albion nodded.
Klein Seymour shortly closed the door on his way out. Albion began to study the bedroom. It could be said to be quite white—No, it was very white! Everything was white. Although they were not expensive items, they exuded cleanliness and comfort.
'Ah, this is paradise!'
Albion laid down on the bed and enjoyed the comfort of its soft fabric and cushion. Whether it was the bed, the pillows, or the blankets, everything felt heavenly—At least when he compares it to the cold stomach of the sea serpent from 36000fts down under the sea level.
He immediately stacked the two furry soft white pillows and made himself comfortable before tapping onto the tablet to surf the internet for news.
The internet was flooded with news pertaining to the Hunters, world government, Federation, deepspace exploration, terrorist attacks, rising crime rates, dimensional rifts, and their interdimensional creatures.
Albion felt his otaku-sense tingling. As such, he keyed in [evolved interdimensional creatures] and tap on the [Images] section.
Immediately, there were tens of thousands of results, with dozens of pictures were shown on screen.
There were humanoid-type evolved interdimensional creatures like elves, dwarves, and beast-kin, beast-type evolved interdimensional creatures like wyverns, drakes, giant serpents, and monster-types, demon-types, etc.
Basically, anything humans could have ever imagined, fantasized, and realized into works; the internet showed results of it. It made Albion blood boiled with excitement.
However, when he tapped on the pictures, it redirected him to sources relating to the evolved interdimensional creatures killing the Hunters that tried to tame, enslave, and control them.
Their behaviors were best described as animalistic and aggressive, like a predator in the jungle. They view humans as prey just as Hunters view them as EXP. The current relationship was like water and fire; impossible to coexist.
'At least for now.'
Albion rubbed his chin thoughtfully before talking to Goldfinger, 'Is it possible for the intelligence of interdimensional creatures to evolve?'
[Goldfinger has already mentioned this; interdimensional creatures of the virtual dimension evolve by becoming more material before anything else.]
Goldfinger kindly reminded.
'In other words, once interdimensional creatures complete their evolution into materialized beings of this world, it will become possible after. So, they are like two-dimensional creatures. Before becoming four-dimensional creatures, they must first become three-dimensional creatures.'
[Precisely.]
'Interesting… However, trying to help these interdimensional creatures evolve is like wielding a double-edged sword. No one can guarantee that once these interdimensional creatures' intelligence is developed, they would stop killing humans and learn to get along. One might just unwillingly shoot themself in the foot if they try.'
As such, the world government views anyone pushing for interdimensional creatures' evolution to be a serious threat.
After surfing the news on the internet for a while, Albion suddenly wondered, 'I wonder what kind of anime, manga, and novels this world has to offer me. I doubt I will be able to continue the ones I left in the previous world though…'
'Hm, it's already 2AM. I better save it for another day.'
Albion switched off the tablet and placed it to the side before sinking into the bed and staring up at the dark ceilings. Sudden pensive loneliness began to eat away at him.
This alternate world has everything he had ever dreamed of, but it also took away everything he ever had; friends and family.
No, it was more correct to say that he was the one that abandoned them when he decided to run away from home. At this moment, he began to miss them dearly.
"Haiz, I'm lonely. And because I am lonely, I am also sad."
Albion gave a depressed sigh.
He began glancing around blindly when his eyes fell on a box of tissue on the nightstand by the bedside.
He gazed at it intently for a moment before his eyes shifted to the tablet he placed to the other side.
'Should I fap?'
The thought only occurred for a single moment before he shook his head vigorously in objection.
He was sad and lonely! Not sad and horny!
