Chapter 151 - Second Floor Invitation
Looking at everyone expressing their confusion, Albion quickly realized he had made a mistake from reading too much variation on the original quote.
The quote was simply overused in novels that some authors tried to be a bit different from the norms.
"Ahem, my bad." Albion coughed and said, "What I meant was; one can eat whatever they want, but one cannot say whatever they want."
"I can see that you are jealous of my earning since you have been losing money. If you do not have any evidence, you are falsely accusing me."
Albion continued to speak in a calm and collected tone, "If you don't apologize to me, I will have to ask our pretty dealer to call security and seek justice for me."
As he finished speaking, Albion gave the pretty dealer with sunglasses an ambiguous smile.
There was no such thing as a clean business when it comes to casinos, especially ones owned by underworld gangs.
The reason Eastern Allure Casino could enjoy its current fame and popularity was not that they were a legitimate business but because they were well-established and well-known.
And more importantly, they have not been caught for their underhanded means.
However, Albion had seen through the casino's dirty method to earn money with a single glance of his Eyes of Ashura.
It was hidden inside the dealer's sunglasses, a high-tech tool equipped with x-ray vision, allowing the dealer to see through all the cards in the deck and her own hand.
Since the casino was not playing fair from the start, there was no need for Albion to play fair either. Only an idiot would do so.
'Well, I suppose a person who cheats and gets caught would be an even bigger idiot,' Albion thought with amusement. As the saying goes; you are only cheating if you are caught.
"Well? What do you say, Miss Dealer-san?" Albion pressed.
The female dealer glanced at Albion with doubt. Why was this person looking at her like that? Did this person notice something about her sunglasses?
'Whatever the case is, protect the casino's reputation first!' The female dealer decided not to persecute the person.
"That's right." The female nodded and turned to the accuser before asking, "Do you have any evidence, sir? If not, I will have to ask you to apologize to this young sir."
"Huh?" The male accuser was confused by the female dealer's words.
Should the female dealer be happy to find fault with the young man instead of siding with him?
"This..."
...
Meanwhile, the security guards have notified the manager after noticing Albion's big earnings at the Blackjack table from the edge of the second floor.
"Manager Bardo!"
"Manager Bardo!"
On the second floor, the two security guards greeted upon noticing a 60-year old man with a long dragon beard approach.
After acknowledging the two security guards, Manager Bardo inquired, "I was told that a person won half a million dollars in the Blackjack area? Have you noticed how the person might be cheating?"
"None, Manager Bardo. We have not seen any signs of suspected cheating from the person apart from the person's win record itself."
"Elaborate." Manager Bardo demanded.
"Yes, Manager Bardo!" One of the security guards nodded before saying, "When the person loses, he loses small. And he wins, he wins big! Apart from that, there was no other abnormality detected."
"Since that is the case, the person must be a master of gambling. Still, we can't rule out the possibility that we haven't caught the person cheating."
"Alright, just leave this task to me. I will talk to the person." Manager Bardo stated before saying, "You two can return to your post."
"Yes, Manager Bardo!"
"Yes, Manager Bardo!"
The two security guards shortly left while Manager Bardo headed down to the lower floor and made his way over to the Blackjack table area.
The moment he arrived, the female dealer was the first to notice as she greeted respectfully with a bow, "Manager Bardo!"
"Un." Manager Bardo nodded.
Shortly after, he swept his gaze across the table and noticed Albion's giant stack of chips before fixing his eyes on the young man.
"You're the one who won $500k through Blackjack? Legitimately?"
"Otherwise?" Albion responded calmly with narrowed his eyes.
Suddenly, the atmosphere intensified with Manager Bardo gazing back at Albion solemnly.
Just as the players thought the manager would punish the audacious young man, the heavy atmosphere quickly dispersed from Manager Bardo breaking into friendly smiles.
"Hoho, that's pretty impressive. May I ask for your name, young man?"
"The name is Albion. Albion Black. Who wants to know?" Albion answered without fear.
"So it is Young Master Albion. I am Bardo Metti, but you can call me Manager Bardo," Manager Bardo spoke politely before inquiring, "Has Young Master Albion come to have fun today, or will you be joining the event tonight?"
"You want to know what I came to do?" Albion snapped his index finger with his thumb nonchalantly before speaking coolly, "Naturally, I've come to win big money. And I won't leave until I win big money."
"Hahaha, interesting. I can see that Young Master Albion is quite good and would like to extend an invitation for Young Master Albion to play on the second floor. Only the higher floors will have higher stakes and challenges to match your skills."
"Hoh, is that so?" Albion muttered with interest before asking, "And what will you do about the chips I won here?"
"Since it was won by Young Master Albion, It is naturally owned by you. We won't take a single penny from you. After all, we are a legitimate business. I can even arrange for someone to transfer the chips to the second floor for you."
"Oh? Then what are we waiting for? Let us go!" Albion urged with impatience. God knows how long it will take to milk the casino if he only played Blackjack.
"Of course! After you, Young Master Albion." Manager Bardo gestured to Albion humbly before calling a person over, "Send the Young Master's chips up to the second floor for me. I don't want to see a single chip less, understand?"
"Yes, Manager Bardo!" the staff answered.
…
Sometime later, Manager Bardo and Albion reached the second floor before Manager Bardo introduced, "On the second floor, we have separate rooms for each type of games our casino has to offer. This is to ensure comfort and peace of silence for our guests."
"You can freely choose between any rooms you like to join at any time as long as the counter above the door does not say full or red, Young Master Albion."
"Interesting. Kind of like a game lobby, eh?" Albion glanced at each room with counters above them that show current occupants out of maximum occupants.
It only took a moment for Albion to randomly choose a room with 8 out of 9 occupants. But when he entered, he immediately sensed an intense ongoing game of poker between 8 young masters.
Surprisingly, Albion was expecting 8 players and one dealer in the room, but he ended up getting an additional 32 subordinates of the 8 young masters in the room.
Fuuu…
"Can you smell it?" Albion asked the manager following behind him after drawing in a long breath and exhaling.
Manager Bardo was stunned.
After a few sniffs, Manager Bardo shook his head and said, "I'm afraid I'm not sure what smell Young Master Albion is referring to."
"The smell of drama," Albion stated flatly.
