He released the shaft, and the elf twisted the spear in a vicious circle, trying to wrench it free and slash across his throat.

Zhao Tian raised his knee and kicked the shaft from beneath, making the weapon flip upward and spin out of her grip.

For an instant it hung in the air, then Zhao Tian's fingers closed around the shaft, reversed the spin, and threw the butt-end toward her shoulder in a single fluid motion.

She ducked under the thrust and rolled across the wet grass.

The spear buried itself point-first into the earth where her head had been.

A green glint passed through her eyes, and the water exploded upward behind her, coalescing into a dozen liquid blades.

They hovered for a heartbeat, then hurled themselves at Zhao Tian in a converging storm.

He exhaled softly, and the water blades stopped right before him before dispersing into water droplets.

In the next instant, the droplets got vaporized into mist.

A small smile touched his lips 'Being 'Archon of Elementals' is good... I can really control even opponents' elemental attacks freely.'

The elf was already moving as she sprinted through the mist, her naked skin flashing in the light, and jumped into the air.

In mid-air, she kicked off nothing... pure yin propulsion and spun, stretching her right hand.

Her spear, which was embedded in the earth, pulled itself up by her telekinesis and reached her palm.

Gripping the spear, she landed in a low slide and swept the spear in a horizontal arc meant to sever Zhao Tian at the waist.

THOOM! It exploded high above, raining down as a gentle mist "I'm trying to talk, but you're making it difficult."

She didn't listen and charged again, spinning the spear in a blinding helix as she closed the distance.

The lake surged behind her, forming a wave, and she leaped onto the wave, riding it like a steed, and thrust her spear downward as the claw crashed toward Zhao Tian.

The impact sent a shockwave across the meadow, shattering stone and uprooting grass in a perfect circle.

He sidestepped the claw's descent and caught the spear's shaft with his forearm as she followed through, deflecting it with a soft clang.

The wave collapsed into a flood, rushing across the meadow in a tide.

Zhao Tian raised one hand, and the flood froze mid-motion, every droplet suspended in the air.

With a flick of his wrist, he reshaped the water into a towering pillar that hovered above her, its surface rippling with his own elemental signature.

He pushed, and the pillar descended to encircle her, forming a liquid cage.

She slashed her spear at the cage, sending ripples through the water, but she couldn't break it.

She leaped, vaulting over the pillar, and landed in a crouch, as water streamed from her hair and skin.

She was on him again, thrusting her spear at him.

His forearm deflected a thrust aimed at his throat and nudged aside a slash at his ribs, while his palm caught the shaft and twisted, forcing her to stumble.

The lake erupted once more as a massive sphere of water rose from its depths.

She hurled it with a flick of her spear, and the sphere spun with terrifying speed, distorting the air as it barreled toward him.

With a soft exhale, he compressed the entire sphere into a tiny orb, no larger than a marble, and flicked it into the lake, where it sank without a ripple.

Seeing this, the elf woman's eyes condensed 'What kind of power... Guess I have no other choice.'

Her jaw tightened "You control my water elemental as if it's your servant."

"Then let us see how you fare against the lake's true mistress."

Zhao Tian raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

She spun the spear once and uttered "By oath of the Queens of Lirien..."

"I call upon the Loong of the Deep, She who coils beneath the moons. Awaken, Mother of Tides!"

Suddenly, the entire ground trembled, and the water in the lake glowed with inner light as concentric rings of pale azure expanded outward from the center of the lake.

Zhao Tian felt it immediately... the yin energy condensing, gathering, and focusing into a single point.

He exhaled slowly 'A guardian spirit?'

From the depths, some dragon scales of shimmering turquoise in color caught the moonlight.

A mane of silver hair flowed down its neck, and its blue eyes were filled with the sorrow and serenity of the sea.

When the creature's head broke the surface, the lake exploded upward in a towering column.

The Loong's body stretched on and on, curling around the lake in vast coils that sparkled with mist and energy.

Her voice filled the air, "Who dares disturb my sleep?"
