Chapter 1207 - 97: Tiamat, Outer God Alliance
Chapter 1207: Chapter 97: Tiamat, Outer God Alliance
Vihong Sea Region.
Duncan’s figure entered the dense forest alone.
The God of Gods, Ayo, invited many Divine Spirits into this realm, such as the Muerholland Pantheon and Neser Pantheon, now both in a state of slow decline; or the God of Justice, Tyr, who was invited by Ayo to join the general Faer?nian Pantheon but eventually faded away silently.
Ayo concentrated the power of the Ancient Death God Ye Ge on Shirek for personal preference, claiming no other schemes were involved, which Duncan absolutely did not believe.
In fact, rumor has it that one of the reasons behind the chastisement of the gods during the Saint’s Calamity was that the gods from Toril began to look beyond their crystal sphere, leaning towards the outer planes where faith converts into more powerful forces.
Before Ayo initiated the Saint’s Calamity, the God of Gods was a highly revered existence.
Until Ayo frequently intervened during the Saint’s Calamity, the reverence for the God of Gods diminished significantly, but the power remained terrifyingly strong, capable of stripping mighty Divine Power, Divine Position, and Divine Format in an instant. Among the trinity of a Divine Spirit, only divinity truly belongs to oneself.
The Divine Format and Divine Position are borrowed strengths from external World Law, but if someone has higher authority than you, they can directly put a ’gag order’ on your Divine Position and Divine Format.
Ayo’s base is the general Faer?nian Pantheon.
"Now the Neser Pantheon is left with only the secretly active Tiamat."
"She only truly gained a foothold in this world after joining the general Faer?nian Pantheon."
"The decline of the Muerholland Pantheon was also inevitable."
Almost everyone Ayo invited has been trapped eventually.
But unlike other Divine Spirits, the Father of Oaks, Sifanass, is a senior figure whose history in this realm is too long, possibly even slowly forgetting everything about the Root World.
Duncan could not interact with Him as directly as with Tyr.
Currently, Duncan’s core allies across various realms are only two: one is the ancient Greek Pantheon, and the other is the Norse Pantheon. The Greek Pantheon, due to having Rome as a base, and the Norse Pantheon, due to some agreements with Odin.
Duncan’s positioning was clear from the start; his aim was to ’invade Faer?n,’ not ’join the general Faer?nian Pantheon.’
Joining would mean being governed by Ayo’s authority.
Though not joining also results in suppression by authority, it saves a lot of trouble when overturning the table in the future.
Sifanass, Silvanus, also known as Silvanus, is a Nature Deity responsible for the protection of forests, fields, and herding in the ancient Roman mythological system.
His origins are somewhat connected to the Celts, being a part of Rome’s native Primitive Religion, and later, as the Greek Pantheon was introduced, the belief in Silvanus gradually weakened and was only revered in folklore as a subordinate god. Possibly around that time, Sifanass’s aspect gradually coalesced.
The existence of a Divine Spirit is quite peculiar, with different aspects forming different personalities. Whether Sifanass still acknowledges Duncan is an open question.
Tyr, on the other hand, is entirely different, being a core member of the Norse Pantheon.
There is a saying in this realm that goes: "Sifanass originates from the Celtic Pantheon, bringing a part of the Druidic lineage, and later entered the Realm Heaven with planar immigrants during the rise of the Neser Empire."
In terms of time, Sifanass’s integration into the general Faer?nian Pantheon likely occurred when Shunni became a Mighty Divine Power.
Winter Forest.
Duncan looked at the oak trees planted around, listening to the whispers of the Essence, gradually progressing towards the Circle of Nature.
Since the Father of Oaks, Sifanass, appeared here during the Saint’s Calamity, the Druidic Order has planted many oaks, and this forest is scattered with many small Druidic Orders, whose deeds are both righteous and evil, explicitly aimed at protecting ’Balance As One.’
These Druids serving the Father of Oaks would secretly fund bandits, and release ferocious beasts, resembling the hunt of nature, to solve the overpopulation problem to an extent.
They believe "most imbalances of the sacred Balance As One stem from the over-hunting and farming that empty the land, essentially a problem of overpopulation."
Civilization erodes the wilderness.
In the absence of achieving symbiosis, many radical Druidic Orders engage in rather aggressive activities.
The Father of Oaks leans towards the wilderness, while the Lady of the Forest leans towards civilization.
The former breeds wild animals, sometimes exterminating humans to protect nature, whereas the latter cultivates domesticated animals, reducing hunting to protect wild animals.
Sifanass is a rather stubborn Divine Spirit.
Yet also a true Guardian of Nature.
The churches serving the Father of Oaks have a most famous ritual known as ’The Dance of the Tree Spirits,’ where during this time, the union of humans and Tree Spirits will cause the forest to spread rapidly, and new Tree Spirits will be born from their union.
However, those lacking stamina would not last until the ritual’s end, so this kind of ritual is rarely conducted.
The area where Duncan is located may have held ’The Dance of the Tree Spirits’ once, although it was only a small-scale union since the nearby forest appeared out of nowhere, and Duncan also saw many young Tree Spirits not long fostered.
Mortals can only achieve so much; any grander ritual would completely exhaust them, to the point that even a Great Druid wouldn’t withstand it.
