Husband you’ve abandoned me. Fine, I’ll focus on raising my son

Chapter 277: A growing delusion

Chapter 277: A growing delusion

Jasmine had written down the address of Keith’s estate in her letter. However, I already kind of knew the general area she was staying due to my men that were following her around. Couldn’t get too close though since his men were watching.

With only a week remaining that meant she wanted me I felt my heart grow heavy both in fear and excitement at the idea of helping Jasmine get out of there. From how Jasmine described it even if Keith was helping to find Tony, his approach was still far too aggressive. I had to get my men ready ready to possibly go in and save her.

KEITH’S POV

I woke up to find Jasmine lying beside me. She’d helped me fall asleep again last night. This was something I could get used to seeing.

My eyes turned to the digital clock beside me it was only 3am. Unfortunately that was all the sleep I was going to get I wouldn’t be able to sleep further. However, I relished the moment. I held her for a moment. She looked so peaceful in her sleep.

I made the decision to get out of bed I saw her suddenly move. “Keith?’ She said my name as she looked up at me.

I winced as I wanted to get out of bed without her noticing.

My eyes narrowed. I was aware Jasmine was in constant contact with her friend her former co-worker. So far their messages were fairly simple, nothing out of the ordinary. She

Whilst I had been reluctant for Jasmine to look and move around as it I wasn’t so worried lately.

“Should I tell her my husband doesn’t appreciate you sending messages at this hour?” She asked.

My eyes softened at the her choice of words. She had called me her husband. Just when I thought waking up with her in bed was an accomplishment on its own.

As I turned away from her and left my bedroom I was in state of shock almost.

Were her thoughts of divorcing me leaving her mind? I wondered as I walked out of my bedroom. This was huge. Perhaps I didn’t have to worry about her trying to leave me altogether. A wave of relief came over me.

For the rest of the morning I worked in my office and then in the morning prepared to go to the police station to talk to Edward again.

Upon arriving at the station I was greeted by the chief officer in charge of handling him.

“Welcome, Mr Acland,” he greeted me.

“How are things so far?” I asked him.

“We’ve interrogated him a couple of times since he came here but he still hasn’t said anything.”

I wasn’t surprised at all. It was Keith we were talking about after all.

As I walked into the room I immediately noticed Edward who was already seated on one side of the desk in the middle of the room. He looked worn out and tired. His face was also still bruised from my beat down on him.

Whilst we’ve found we cant link Edward to the ransom and the company in Dubai.

The bottom line however, was that Edward knew where my son was.

“I’ll say this again Edward, call off your ransom and tell me where my son is?”

“Keith, if you ever want to see your son again I suggest you follow the ransom note’s instuctions,” he told me.

“Is it Diana and your girlfriend? Are they the ones who have my son?” I demanded.

Edward gave a weak humourless smile. “I thought you said you were going to find him on your own?”

My jaw tensed as I fought the urge to urge at him. “You do realise you are going to be in prison of for the rest of your life right? I’ll make sure of it,” I continued with my threat.

That annoying seemingly unbothered expression of his returned.

“I know your family Edward I could ruin their lives as well. So talk now before I involve them,”

His lip then press into a thin line as an uncomfortable expression appeared on his face. However, he still refused to say anything.

Why is he still being so difficult? I don’t understand why he was so adamant in refusing to tell me where Anthony was.

Jasmine also pointed out that something was strange about his whole demeanour and how we couldn’t Anthony despite everything else we’ve uncovered.

“It’s your choice Edward. End this now or you’ll make your situation worse.

“Mr Acland, I can only assure that signing your company away is the only way you can get your son back,” he insisted. “And don’t think you can trick me by sending fake documents My people will know and you wont get your son back he told me.

My eyes narrowed as I glared at him.

“If you’re in fucking prison Edward how will you even run the company?” I asked him. How was he going to dot it? It honestly made no sense. What’s his goal here? Or were Diana and his girlfriend the ones who were going to run the company?” I wondered.

“You don’t have to worry about that just sign the documents.” He persisted.

This back and conversation that went no where.

I left the police station again feeling anger surge through my body. I kicked a bin as I walked by and saw. My men were searching all of his records checking for anything new that might come up. Nothing so far.

I made several calls to my men to see if they were making any progress finding any more properties or false identities Edward had.

I then went to the HQ to continue looking into Edward’s office and files. I received a call from my father a short while later. I also ready knew I was going to be ticked off.

“How’s the investigation going?” He asked.

“We’re still looking for Anthony however we have uncovered most of the money he took from the company,” I told him. I was going to send my father an updated file that contained all the documents concerning Edward.
