Chapter 1205 -838: Blood Alliance Formed in the Barn

Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s relationship is getting better and better, and it’s well-known in Godric’s Hollow.

In just a few days, the two have become inseparable, always researching magic together and discussing ideals. If you see only one of them on the street, don’t doubt, the other is surely nearby, you just haven’t seen him yet.

As for why they’re outside, it’s probably because of Aberforth. He and Dumbledore have been arguing more and more, and if you pass by Dumbledore’s house at night, you can hear the roaring inside.

Dumbledore seems to feel guilty, never engaging much in arguments with his younger brother, basically a no-respond policy.

But Grindelwald isn’t that patient. He’s almost fought with Aberforth several times because of this.

However, each time, Dumbledore intervened timely, barely resolving the conflict.

All of this was overheard by Kael at the bar; he himself hasn’t left the place, and all information comes from what he’s heard from others.

Recently, regulars have come to realize Kael is someone who loves to hear stories… or rather, any wizard studying magical history loves to hear stories; for example, young Bathilda Bagshot was always trying to squeeze out rumors from adults.

But Kael is different from Bathilda; he never picks the type of story. Whether it’s baseless folktales from the past or domestic dramas from yesterday, all are fine… as long as he’s entertained, he’ll generously offer the storyteller the finest Flaming Whiskey.

Three Sickles a glass.

These people usually can’t afford such expensive drinks, so when offered for free, they’re naturally enthusiastic, just keeping an eye on happenings around them requires no effort.

They’re happy and so is Kael.

Recently, Grindelwald and Dumbledore have become increasingly cautious, almost catching him a few times before… now, just spending a little money can get him the information he wants without exposing himself, why not?

A few Sickles is nothing; even if he invites everyone round, it won’t cost more than three Galleons. The sponsorship from Hokuriken alone is enough for him to splurge for two months.

“I tell you, those two are bound to brawl sooner or later,” Kode said, sitting in his usual spot, drinking and sighing: “This afternoon, Albus almost couldn’t hold them apart; it was Bathilda who finally stepped in to resolve the conflict.”

“What, you’re worried about Aberforth?” Kael asked.

“Of course not, teenagers, who hasn’t had conflicts with others? When I was at Hogwarts, I often fought with classmates.”

“Back then, Gryffindor and Slytherin were fighting right on the pitch, and when the wands dropped, we swung brooms.”

“I tell you, it was really something, especially the Silver Arrow broom, as thick as a wrist, swung hard, more effective than a charm.”

Perhaps he’d had too much to drink, Kode suddenly reminisced about past struggles, most of which involved fighting with Slytherin. After a while, he just shook his head.

“Forget it, let’s not talk about those… actually, I’m more worried about Albus. One side is his brother, the other his close friend; he’s the one caught in the middle and it’s hardest for him.”

“Sometimes, I wonder whether a good fight might be a solution, get it out of their systems, and it would be over, good for all three of them… but this isn’t something we can suggest, we certainly can’t incite them to fight.”

Kode sighed and took another sip of brandy.

“Bang…”

Just then, the door to the bar was pushed open from outside.

Kael instinctively glanced back and quickly turned his head again.

Dumbledore and Grindelwald walked in one after the other.

But Grindelwald looked furious, while Dumbledore was trying to calm him down.

“Oh, what rare guests.” Kode noticed them too, “Albus hardly ever comes here; I always thought he didn’t like drinking… looks like their argument was quite heated.”

Kael didn’t say anything, just lowered his head, subtly leaned on the table, pretending to be drunk and asleep, minimizing his presence.

The two approached, only a seat away from Kael, but fortunately, they didn’t notice him.

“Who does he think he is, daring to speak to me like that?” Grindelwald shouted angrily, “If it weren’t for your sake, I’d have made him pay!”

“Yes, yes, thank you for your trouble.” Dumbledore appeased, “For my sake, would you hold off a bit longer?”

“New guests.” Then, the bar owner approached and asked, “Gentlemen, what would you like?”

“Honey wine.”

“Wine.”

Both said simultaneously.

The bar owner raised an eyebrow, seemingly about to say something; he inadvertently glanced at Kael’s seat, but found him slumped on the table, pretending to be asleep, as if drunk.

Seeing this, the owner closed his mouth again, quickly retrieved what they’d ordered.

He had intended to tell the two they could drink for free, but with Kael seemingly drunk, he wouldn’t hear any stories, so abandoned the idea.

It could only be said they came at the wrong time, missing the opportunity for free drinks.
