Chapter 1195 -834: Maybe They’re Just Tired_3
But Kael, without revealing his thoughts, wandered around twice more, picked out two trinkets, and then checked out and left.
The owner enthusiastically saw him out and then closed the shop door again.
Kael walked down the street, pondering the shop owner’s words.
If he’s not mistaken, the person who knocked on his shop door should be Dumbledore. He seemed to want to buy something, but the shop didn’t have it, so he went to Knockturn Alley.
But what was Dumbledore trying to buy? Coming at night must mean he was in a hurry.
Kael immediately thought of Arianna, Dumbledore’s sister, a girl deemed a Squib in the eyes of many.
This also explains why Dumbledore appeared somewhat flustered earlier.
The famous Dumbledore has a Squib in the family; naturally, he wouldn’t want this to be known.
Additionally, he recalled that initially, Dumbledore didn’t quite like his sister, especially when he had just graduated.
Dumbledore felt that his sister, who constantly needed care, was like a shackle, trapping him in the small Godric’s Hollow right after graduation, with nowhere to go.
Of course, Arianna was not truly a Squib, but an Obscurus.
An Obscurus, simply put, is a wizard who, during childhood, resisted using magic, causing the magical power within to be neither properly guided nor vented, gradually transforming into another form.
It’s an irregular, shapeless dark magical substance called the “Obscurus.”
The Obscurus has extremely strong destructive power, and the host’s fragile body can hardly bear its force. Arianna is among the few Obscurials who have lived past ten.
But this also means she constantly endures the pain brought by the Obscurus, potentially erupting tonight, forcing Dumbledore to seek a solution.
Perhaps he was also meant to go to Godric’s Hollow.
Although his other Dragon Egg still hasn’t surfaced, Kael was no longer willing to wait.
He returned to the Leaky Cauldron for a good night’s rest, checking out the next morning.
He took another trip to Diagon Alley to find the shop.
Last night, he learned the owner’s name from Hokuriken… Willie Tom, although he’s unsure of any relationship with the later owner of the Leaky Cauldron.
There could be no relation; after all, in the United Kingdom, Tom is an exceedingly common name, but as a surname, it’s Kael’s first encounter.
As expected, the sign “Closed” still hung on the shop’s door, and the owner hadn’t returned.
However, the street, especially near Knockturn Alley, was populated with wizards in special robes. Judging from their actions, they should be Aurors or Beaters.
“Is the Ministry of Magic efficient at this hour?”
Kael frowned, remembering that the shop owner had previously mentioned someone important behind Hokuriken.
He truly couldn’t linger here any longer.
Although Kael was confident that he hadn’t left any traces last night, it was prudent to leave quickly.
Recently, he had garnered too much attention in Diagon Alley, a wizard notorious for spending lavishly, inevitably drawing Hokuriken’s interest.
Once the Aurors caught wind of this, they’d surely come looking for him, even if they lacked evidence. Kael didn’t want any dealings with the current Ministry of Magic.
He turned back to the Leaky Cauldron, casually plucking a strand of hair from a passerby, dropped it into a bottle, shook it, and ducked into a bookstore, using the large bookshelves as cover while drinking the Polyjuice Potion.
When he emerged again, he was a nondescript middle-aged wizard.
Kael calmly passed through the Leaky Cauldron, arriving at a secluded street, and extended his Wand.
Suddenly, two lamps appeared at the street corner, as if a breeze blew through, and a brand-new double-decker bus swiftly pulled up in front of him.
“Knight Bus, specially serving wizards in distress,” a very enthusiastic voice called from the bus.
“Sir, do you need help?”
“I’d like to go to Godric’s Hollow,” Kael said. “How much?”
“One Sickle,” the attendant said with a broad smile. “And if you add another Sickle, you can have a Butter Beer.”
“No, thank you,” Kael replied. He climbed aboard the bus, took out a handful of Knuts, carefully counted them twice, then handed them over.
The conductor didn’t show any disdain due to Kael’s actions, remaining cordial as she found him an empty seat.
“Next stop, Godric’s Hollow!” she shouted toward the front of the bus.
The bus lights flickered, and it swiftly dashed away once more.
